25.01.2022 This is an appeal to all fellow drivers. Today I had a very close call with an oncoming vehicle here in Greenwich Park. Please, please, keep to your own side of the road, especially when coming up to a bend in the road or over a hill. My heart hit the floor when I was suddenly faced with a very fast vehicle suddenly appearing speeding right towards me in the middle of the road. Luckily I, and the driver, managed to avoid a collision that could have been fatal for us both. Please, drivers, ease up on the accelerator and keep to your own side of the road. Thank you.

25.01.2022 HI ALL, THIS IS A MESSAGE TO ALL RESIDENTS OF GP AND BH. WE HAVE IT FROM A VERY RELIABLE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE SOURCE THAT THIEVES ARE ONCE AGAIN TARGETING OUR AREA. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR HOMES, SHEDS ETC ARE LOCKED. DON'T LEAVE VALUABLE MACHINERY/VEHICLES ETC WITH IGNITION KEYS LEFT IN - I'M SURE YOU KNOW THE DRILL! CAN'T TELL YOU MORE AT THIS STAGE - POLICE ARE AWARE AND WORKING ON IT. I'LL KEEP YOU MORE INFORMED WHEN I CAN. KEEP SAFE.

19.01.2022 THIS AWFUL VIRUS THING SEEMS TO GO ON AND ON. I THINK WE ARE LUCKY LIVING OUT HERE AND HAVING ROOM IN WHICH TO MOVE. IF YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW IS STRUGGLING, PLEASE DON'T THINK TWICE ABOUT REACHING OUT. PLEASE MAKE NOTE OF MY NEW EMAIL ADDRESS, WHICH IS [email protected]; MY LANDLINE IS KAPUT, SO MY MOBILE IS 0428355000, OR JUST SEND ME A MESSAGE OR EVEN CALL IN AT 2231 TOWRANG ROAD, GP. IF YOU NEED ME OR A HAND WITH ANYTHING, I'LL TRY TO BE THERE IN A SHOT! I WOULD LI...KE TO MAKE A LIST OF OF ANYONE WHO FEELS AS I DO AND WOULD BE AVAILABLE TO CHAT, HELP, ORGANISE OR WHATEVER IS NEEDED. I KNOW THAT SOME RECENT ARRIVALS FIND IT DIFFICULT TO ADJUST TO COUNTRY LIFE. REMEMBER, COUNTRY LIVING IS ALL ABOUT BEING THERE FOR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBOURS, ESPECIALLY WHEN THINGS GET TOUGH. ALSO I NEED SOME IDEAS FOR OUR LITTLE SPOT OF PARADISE. PERHAPS ANGELA COULD PROMOTE HER ART CLASSES, IF SHE IS INTERESTED IN RESURRECTING THEM, JO-ANNE IS A THERAPIST AND HELPS PEOPLE WITH THE HELP OF HER WONDERFUL AND SPECIAL HORSES. PERHAPS SOMEONE WOULD LIKE TO START A BOOK CLUB, OR A CHILD MINDING GROUP (BUT PLEASE DON'T ASK ME AS I'M ALLERGIC TO CHILDREN!) STAY SAFE AND HAPPY.

13.01.2022 Last Sunday (13 Oct) my lovely rescue dog, Callie, followed me out of my driveway. I was partway up the hill when I saw her running behind me. I pulled over just after the crest of the hill for safety reasons. A car driven by a young lady passed me going down. Now I know this young lady picked up Callie. She was told by a neighbour where Callie lives and advised to take her there. I was sitting waiting for Callie to catch up to me. Instead the lady took Callie to the vets in ...Marulan on Monday morning where she was scanned. As she was microchipped, they knew who she was (Callie, not the lady!) Anyway, to cut a long story short, the vet rang me, but only after the lady took Callie away! I have been doing a bit of detective work and think this person may live up Big Hill way. I've been there and left a note, but no response, perhaps the people are weekenders or perhaps I (who moi?) was wrong. Callie is a lovely dog, black Kelpie with a dash of white on her front. She is missed. The lady I would like to speak to drives a small car and apparently her husband/partner has longish hair, perhaps in dreadlocks and drives a white flat bed Rodeo ute. Anyone know anything? If she fell in love with Callie and wanted to keep her, all she had to do was approach me for a discussion about her. See more

08.01.2022 You are all very quiet out there. Does no-one have anything to say?

08.01.2022 The latest on missing Callie. I spoke to someone at Goulburn Pound today. She was more helpful than anyone else . She took Callie's Chip number and put her into the system. She also confirmed to me that the vet had a duty of care and should have kept Callie and not allow this lady to take her.

07.01.2022 Sounds like great fun.

07.01.2022 There is a bridge under there somewhere. Thanks Nat Withers.

07.01.2022 Apparently this morning's awful m/v accident on Brayton Road, involved a stolen car and horse float. Thank God there were no horses on board. So any sympathies I may have had for the driver, who took off, and any accomplacies, I take back. Suffer, you morons.

06.01.2022 I want to wish everyone in GP and BH and wonderful, safe and happy Christmas. This year has been a bloody awful one really, and I fear that 2021 will be just a continuation of that. January 1 will not be any different to any other previous day. We will still have all these restrictions, maybe more. Firstly, I would like you and your loved ones to stay safe and well. Let's hope hope we don't become yet another 'hot spot'. Secondly, to anyone who lost a loved one to this viru...s, I really do sympathise and emphasise. I lost my dear sister last Saturday after a long battle with lung cancer. I can only imagine that her death was similar to Covid; unable to breathe etc, but her illness lasted six years. I'm angry because she didn't deserve all her suffering and sadness. But she's at peace now. In the first couple of months of 2020, I lost three friends - three funerals and I also lost my cat! RIP Mystery and to top all that off, a few weeks ago my car died! Stay safe everyone and look after each other including your neighbours. We all have to stick together, especially during bush fire season. Think and then think again before you light that match, have a BBQ, use that grinder, mower, slash that paddock, ride that damn motorbike over grass - just one spark or hot exhaust touches the grass and ....... whoosh, up it can go and quickly too! AND follow directives from the Rural Fire Service. Wow, sorry this all sounds so glum and I am actually a very positive and happy woman. So I raise my glass to you all and hope for better days. Cheers, everybody. Love Rachel. RIP Marj, I love you.

05.01.2022 I know the Covid19 virus has not affected GP residents too much. We are lucky we are pretty much isolated here. Now because of all this constant rain over the last few days, we are more isolated than ever as both Brayton Road and Towrang Road Bridges are well under water. Strangely enough I love this isolation, but I should have been better prepared. I guess I'll get used to my cup of tea with no milk and my dogs will not actually starve with no dry food. Keep safe everyone and do not drive over the bridges until they are officially open.

04.01.2022 HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY NEWS. CALLIE is home. It's a very long story, but all that really matters is that she is well and happy and enjoyed her two weeks away at Big Hill with a lovely young couple who loved her and treated her with kindness and care. I will post a photo when the couple come around again to visit again for a cuddle and a pet. Thank you for all your messages and concern.

04.01.2022 I don't have my car at the moment so just wondering how are things looking water-wise on Brayton and Towrang Roads where the bridges are. We have to get in and out on Saturday and just wondering what the chances are of being marooned.

03.01.2022 HAPPY, HAPPY NEWS. Callie is home. To cut a long story short, she is well and happy and told me she had a wonderful holiday at a property at Big Hill. She was even allowed to sleep on an armchair in the bedroom. She has settled back home very nicely and it's good to have her home. Thank you to everyone for your messages, good wishes and concern. Rachel.

02.01.2022 I spoke with the vet today. The lady said she found Callie in the middle of nowhere! That's rubbish, she had just come out of my driveway which is clearly signposted. We live on Towrang Road, which is the main thoroughfare through Greenwich Park. She said there was nothing around and she was on her way to Moss Vale. Called MV and Callie is not there, nor was she ever brought in. I'm getting more and more frustrated. The woman even asked a friend and neighbour up the road from me and he told her where Callie is. The woman also said she was going to put Callie on fb. Never seen anything posted at all, have you? I WANT CALLIE HOME

02.01.2022 During these difficult times, is there someone out there who may be able to make a few dollars making surgical masks? On principle, I will not buy them if they are made in China. How about it, Angela Kounnas?

02.01.2022 Ifound this child's safety vest in the middle of Towrang Rd. today near juction with Emerton Drive. Put it on fence on eastern side of road. Hope it is reunited with its young owner.

02.01.2022 Gosh, almost Christmas in Australia and I've just the winter rug on Gemma, my horse who turns 38 next year. She's had that wart growing out of her ear all her life and then it just drops off and regrows. No bother to her.
