25.01.2022 ANTHEA BOESENBERG Its been a year to remember for all the wrong reasons! These prints were my my response to the catastrophic bushfires earlier this year. The theme emerged in my work and took me by surprise. And now my work is full of colour! There’s always something interesting happening at our studio. Come and see Anthea's response at Studio 29B In Innes Rd on the Greenwich Village Arts Trail, 7/8 November.

18.01.2022 LYN BURNS Don't miss Lyn's work at the Greenwich Village Arts Trail on November 7/8. Lyn writes: Painting and drawing have always been a part of my life. The majority of my works are landscapes, and many of the larger ones are somewhat sketchy I like the drawing, the gesture and movement in the landscape. The natural world provides my subject matter. I tend to turn away from every part of the built environment to concentrate on the wild, the beautiful, or the quirky in the... landscape. The sea has always had a strong pull for me, and I draw the waves, the water’s edge and the expanses of the ocean. Trees also provide wonderful shapes and lines there are very few straight lines in my work, I like the twists and turns, the ins and outs. Being in the landscape, drawing from nature, is what I most like to do. I particularly like drawing with pastel, however using a variety of media has meant changes in style, experimentation and finding new ways of looking at things. I am a Fellow of the Royal Art Society of NSW, a member of Lane Cove Art Society, and weekend gallery manager at Lavender Bay Gallery.

16.01.2022 MARINA LINDSAY - felt artworks Using natural fibres to create beautiful objects is a recurring theme in my artworks. Making an emotional reflection of natural beauty through either wearable or decorative objects is a challenging pursuit and one that demands constant refinement. Dyed natural fibers such as wool, mohair, alpaca and silk all have mysterious ways of combining and enhancing each other which can be surprising and delightful. Mixing fibres with stones and semi-prec...ious gems to make jewellery shows harmony between complementary colours, textures and shapes. Capturing the colours and patterns of the natural world into textiles and wearable jewellery creates pleasing yet distinctive artwork. Felting is an ancient cloth making technique practiced by Scandinavian and Mongolian people to make clothing, tents, shoes and jewellery. This technique has been adapted to make costume jewellery, wearable accessories and wall mounted images. Modern day fibres and dyes enable this primitive cloth making activity to be refined to assemble soft and vibrant textile art. Fine working of colour and thread can now create large and intricate artworks. The exhibition will include felted and gemstone jewellery, felt accessories or wearable art (hats, scarfs, table runners, handbags, and felted stones), wall mounted artworks themed on jellyfish and other playful items. See it at the Greenwich Village Arts Train, November 7/8.

16.01.2022 Greenwich Village Arts Trail is Back 7th and 8th November 2020 In beautiful Harbourside Suburb of Greenwich. The popular Greenwich Village Arts Trail, now in its 9th year. Local artists open their studio doors to the public. A few years ago the Sydney Morning Herald reported that Greenwich was part of a creative cluster (and we don’t think they are wrong). Put aside the 7th and 8th November to discover local artists. You will meet the artists! You will see the inner working...s of an artist’s studio. Many of the artists on the Greenwich Village Arts Trail have won multiple awards and have been hung and shown in prestigious art events. There will be oil, acrylic and watercolour paintings, sculptures, jewellery, pottery, photography on display and for sale on the Greenwich Village Arts Trail. Visitors can enjoy wonderful bush and waterfront walks as they wander from studio to studio, and choose from four cafes for meals and coffee. Studios are open on the weekend each day, from 10am to 4pm. Train, ferry and bus stops are all within a short distance of the trail and maps are available at the local shops or on www.greenwichvillageartstrail.com.au If you love art you will love the Greenwich Village Arts Trail. Why not grab a group of friends and tour the sites together, then have a cuppa at one of Greenwich’s lovely cafes. You get a real insight into an artist’s working space.

15.01.2022 GLENN CROUCH Glenn is a serious hobbyist landscape photographer who has been capturing the natural world around Sydney and internationally. A self confessed cloud and ocean addict passionate about creating beautiful imagery that looks good on your wall ! He can found most afternoons shooting sunset at Shell Park if the conditions are right, and out before dawn on weekends chasing the light and swell along the NSW coastline. He also creates YouTube vlogs of his adventures and has been known to appear on the odd photography podcast. See his photography on the Greenwich Arts Trail, November 7/8.

14.01.2022 MARIANNE URTH Marianne's abstract paintings showcase her passion for sailing - the movement and transparency of the waves, and the colourful sails in splashes of white sea spray. 14.01.2022 STUART MURPHY Stu’s aerial photography has been recognised at a national level in both 2019 and 2020. The lines, colours and textures of NSW coastal wetlands provide rich pickings for images that have to be seen twice to be believed. Stu’s work often shows the results of human interference in complex landscapes including the impacts of altering hydrology triggering changes in soil chemistry. See his photographs at the Greenwich Village Arts Trail, November 7/8.

11.01.2022 ANDREW RICHARDSON Billboards in the Garden: a large scale GVAT photographic event. This year Andrew plans to break with the convention with an outdoor photographic exhibition featuring large scale prints displayed, at least 1.5m apart, around his Greenwich Point Gardens. This exhibition is going to be interactive, Covid safe and in some ways will merge sculpture & photography. Andrew usually works as a commercial photographer, so GVAT is an opportunity to breakout with cre...ative images exploring his Of The Moment street photography, Outback Junkie & Marine Action assignments. The display will also reveal a developing series exploring abstracts derived from pre digital era machines. 06.01.2022 A big wow to Trail artist @marianne.urth #Repost @urth_design with @make_repost Helping Mary’s House with donation. Greenwich Art Trail was widely visited this year and we decided that the proceeds should go to a women’s shelter in the local community. Family, domestic and sexual violence is a major health and welfare issue. It affects people of all ages and from all backgrounds, but mainly women and children. It is estimated that 2.2 million Australians have experienced... physical or sexual violence from a current or previous partner since the age of 15. Mary’s House provides a quality refuge for women and their children escaping domestic violence. They provide accommodation and professional services that enables their residents to be safe, hopeful and empowered to make the first step to rebuilt their lives. Mary’s House is 100% community funded and relies on the support they receive from the local community and corporate partners. If you want to help you can donate via Mary’s Houses webpage Maryshouse.org.au/donate-now/ (Please feel free to share this post) See more

05.01.2022 #Repost @stu_murphy_australian_artist with @make_repost Thank you to everyone who dropped in to the Home Loan Guy HQ over the weekend. 05.01.2022 JANE MADISON Having studied and taught anatomy previously, I initially used water colour and later oil painting as I developed my own artwork with a preference for the female form. In recent years I have moved into sculpture and the three dimensional exploration of different clays and glazes. In 2020 I have used a different range of glazes incorporating multi-colour effects. Visit Jane's very striking work at the Greenwich Village Arts Trail on November 7/8

04.01.2022 #Repost @danadion.artist with @make_repost This is a glimpse into what went on in my studio all weekend @greenwich_village_arts_trail Thank you to all who came on the trail and stopped at my studio. Thank you all for your comments, enthusiasm and support. See you all again next year. Thank you @dkny1995 and @reneekanowitzart @dean_dejong and of course my husband. I could not do this without you.

04.01.2022 IMOGEN BAYLISS-SMITH After a trip to Sri Lanka in 2016, I became fascinated by the way elephants were adorned in decorative patterns as part of celebrations. Starting with elephants, then to African animals, sea life, insects and much more- my black fine tip pen drawings capture the beauty and detail of each individual creature. More recently, I have incorporated calligraphy style writing into biblical passages and even hints of colour! Enjoy Imogen's drawing at the Greenwich Village Arts Trail on November 7/8
