17.01.2022 Greenwood Primary School is located in the northern suburbs (15 km from the CBD). It commenced in 2008 due to the amalgamation of Allenswood and East Greenwood Primary Schools. 2010 was a year of great change for Greenwood Primary School. At the commencement of term 4 we moved into our new school in Merivale Way, Greenwood. Our school consists of three, purpose built early childhood rooms and ten classrooms divided into three teaching blocks. In addition to this there is a li...brary resource centre which includes a computer laboratory and a further block made up of an art/science room, music room and an enclosed undercover area. To compliment these facilities each area has been provided with the latest technology. Interactive whiteboards are fitted to all learning areas. All of these facilities are located on superbly landscaped grounds. Over 36 000 plants, including many mature trees have been used to create an extremely welcoming feeling. Large grassed areas and an oval are available for the children to play on. In addition, tennis/basketball/netball courts, cricket nets and 3 playgrounds enable children to participate in a range of activities during their breaks. The children are well presented in aqua and black uniforms, with the parents keenly supporting the school's uniform policy. At Physical Education and sport the children are appropriately dressed to represent the four factions. The parent community is outstanding with help and support for the school. The Greenwood P&C Association is an extremely active group. They have contributed funds for incursions/excursions, library books, reading books, book week activities and graduation costs. The School Council meets each term to review school performances, set school priorities and endorse the annual budget. The council consists of 5 parents, 1 P&C representative, 4 staff and the Principal. The staff acknowledges and recognizes input from parents by hosting an annual morning tea each year. Greenwood Primary offers specialists programs in physical education, information and communications technology, music, language (Indonesian) and art. Students at educational risk are catered for through targeted intervention programs, one of which operates before school. The very experienced staff is committed to providing an education in which children learn in an environment that is safe and stimulating. A strong values program exists within the school to support our vision of enabling students to become valued and responsible members of society.
