24.01.2022 Tell-tale signs of a tax scam from the ATO 4 May 2020 Life's busier than ever for small business owners. Scammers hope you’re too busy to check what they’re saying so you’ll hand over your personal or financial information.... While we’re supporting you through the COVID-19 (coronavirus) environment, scammers are trying to steal your money or identity while you’re most vulnerable. Look out for these tell-tale signs of tax scams if you get a suspicious call, message or request. We will never: send an email or SMS with a hyperlink to our online services such as myGov request personal identifying information via a return email unless you've agreed to engage with us this way threaten you with immediate arrest and insist you stay on the line until you make a payment prevent you from discussing your tax affairs with your registered tax professional request payment of a debt via iTunes, Google Play cards or other vouchers, cryptocurrency, cardless cash transfer, offshore wire transfer or into a bank account not held by the Reserve Bank of Australia ask you to pay a fee to receive a refund. If you’re ever unsure about an ATO communication, do not reply. Phone the ATO scam hotline on 1800 008 540, visit ato.gov.au/scams, or speak to your agent or trusted adviser.

24.01.2022 New information every day

24.01.2022 Sorry having phone issues please call 0408113314 or 0491 741 589 will advise when fixed

23.01.2022 Due date for SBSCH payments If you use the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH), and want to claim the tax deduction for superannuation payments, these are only considered to be paid once they have been processed and received by the employees' super funds, not the date the SBSCH accepts the payments. For 201920, super payments need to be accepted by the SBSCH by 23 June 2020 to allow time for the employees' super funds to receive the payments by 30 June.... Before making super payments, you should confirm with your employees that their super fund details are correct in their SBSCH account, and make necessary updates as soon as possible. Incorrect information, such as a change in superannuation product ownership could risk your clients not meeting the 23 June deadline. The due date for quarterly super guarantee (SG) payments has not changed. The next quarterly due date is 28 July 2020.

22.01.2022 Another Reminder for next Jobkeeper round. Even if your turnover has increased you still need to report that you're not claiming. Call us if you need help

21.01.2022 The Jobkeeper package was passed last night. Australia.gov.au website provides links to all the assistance available. To access JobKeeper the employer must register their interest - see this link https://treasury.gov.au//Fact_sheet_supporting_businesses_

20.01.2022 Sadly the scammers are out. A reminder that Jobkeeper payments are paid to your employer's bank account not yours, so if someone rings saying they are from ATO and asks for your bank details DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!

19.01.2022 Well that's been a fun morning - not. Greg's email was hacked and everyone on his contacts list was sent an email with a link to open OneDrive. What was scary was that if you asked was it safe, you got an email straight back saying yes, than another telling you how to open it using Office 365. Thanks to Stephen De Tomasi from Amigo Technology for shutting this down so quickly. Just another reminder folks be vigilant about what you open in your emails and if you have any doubts, delete it. If you do get hacked, change your password immediately.

13.01.2022 The ATO are updating their site daily with the latest information on JobKeeper. For Sole Traders, Partnerships, Trusts and Companies the best idea if you believe you may be eligible is to enrol. NOTE: This is different to registering your interest ,the enrolment process only started on Monday 20th April. This is done via your MyGov account or on Business Portal via MyGovID or we can do it for you - call or email. ... https://www.ato.gov.au/General/JobKeeper-Payment/

11.01.2022 Sorry but we are having phone issues please call on 0408113314

11.01.2022 We have 14 days to update your JobKeeper turnover figures, let us know if we can help

11.01.2022 They just never stop, please be vigilant, if in doubt call us

11.01.2022 3 Key points to claim JobKeeper Before 26 April you need to: * Enrol on the ATO website (available 20 April)... * Pay each eligible employee $3000 gross. This is for the first 2 fortnights of the Job Keeper period. * Report the payments using Single Touch Payroll (STP). This is the preferred option and I don’t know what the other option is so just do it this way. The function of the JobKeeper is to allow the employer to keep paying their employees, it is a payment in arrears of wages the employer has already paid out in the month of April. We are still waiting on information for Sole Traders and Trusts We have a webinar with ATO tomorrow where we hope a lot of the grey areas will become clearer.
