25.01.2022 As you are all no doubt aware by now, I am running for Councillor in the 2020 local council elections. I was born in Inverell NSW and although my family moved around for my fathers work commitments, I did go to school at Ashford NSW and lived on my Grandparents farm near Ashford. I also went to school for a short time in Stanthorpe at about seven years of age. I spent most of my adult life in Brisbane where I gained tertiary education. I have a diploma in Information Technolo...gy - Network Engineering. I worked in Brisbane as a level 2 (network) IT support technician at Workcover Qld and also as a Level 2 IT (network) at Incitec at Gibson Island. Finally I was an Account Manager at Cellnet Brisbane airport (Airport drive). When the GFC hit Cellnet pretty much went bust and we all lost our jobs. I started a handyman business with long time friend Bill Wright. Eventually my wife and I decided on a tree change and the Granite Belt (Southern Downs) was calling. I have lived with my wife in Stanthorpe now for more than 8 years and worked for nearly all of that time in Warwick. It is home now and we won't be moving from this region. I support local business and the farming community. I am about a fair outcome for all in the Southern Downs. I am campaigning for water security, home security, tourism promotion and improved council services. I hope I can count on your vote. See more

22.01.2022 I helped a work colleague and her husband move some furniture from Stanthorpe to Warwick today in my ute. I was offered money that I kept refusing to accept. Finally I caved in and took the money, but since I do not accept money for helping fiends I will put the money in my campaign fund and say to Elli and Mitz Anne Pecision Ompoc ,thank you for your kind donation to my campaign. It is gratefully accepted. God bless you and your family.

20.01.2022 My father is a legend. I draw most of my inspiration from the things he taught me.

20.01.2022 Thank you to all my supporters and everyone who voted for me. They are apparently having "technical problems" still and the ECQ website still shows tonight that the count is at 80%. Anyway it does not look good for me at this stage. Being a new contender and having my campaigh shut down by the current health crisis, I can understand some of my poor polling. People seemed to vote mostly for the people they normally vote for, so most previous Councillors keep there jobs. It would seem that Tracy Dobie has lost the Mayoralty though. Maybe the electorate wanted a change at the top. Anyway I may have another crack at it in 4 years time. Stay well everyone.

17.01.2022 Yep That's me. Bombardier Johnson about to send that round downrange.

10.01.2022 My certificate for "so you want to be a Councillor"

10.01.2022 Just to be clear; my full name is Gregory Glenn Johnson. My family and friends know me as Glenn (my fathers name is Greg Johnson). I am running for council as Greg Johnson because Greg is my first name.

10.01.2022 In local government we need to have policies going forward that address hotter summers and longer droughts. We need to not only look at water security for our region but explore new ideas that will work with changing climate conditions. I want to create a win win situation for the Southern Downs and I really need your support to do that. Thank you for your support. It is greatly appreciated. :-)

05.01.2022 Here are some endorsements from local business leaders. They are people that I consider friends who wish to support my campaign. They are aware that this is a public campaign and as such I can post material that shows public support for my campaign. I also have to state that any advertising (and I expect that would include advertised support) is authorised by myself Gregory Glenn Johnson of Stanthorpe Queensland. That's the rules. So I authorise advertised support on this campaign page.
