16.01.2022 While I understand the contentious nature of developments like the one in the image below being built in suburban areas, it is all about the scale. There is room for a gentle increase in density across the suburbs given the large sizes of lots and the increase in an older demographic that do not want a large yard to maintain. There is room for "granny flats" and duplexes in particular and corner lots make a lot of sense for this. 13.01.2022 As the city continues to grow, we need to treasure our open spaces and precincts like HOTA. Living begins to get tighter as the years go by and these spaces provide relief from the urban congestion. In the case of HOTA it is also a precinct that offers new experiences to the public. This is certainly a place that will continue to be a much loved feature of the city long into the future. The new bridge connection and the ferry to and from Surfers Paradise makes it more accessible, which in turn means that the community will appreciate it more.
