19.01.2022 Just a reminder
18.01.2022 Well that's been a fun morning - not. Greg's email was hacked and everyone on his contacts list was sent an email with a link to open OneDrive. What was scary was that if you asked was it safe, you got an email straight back saying yes, than another telling you how to open it using Office 365. Thanks to Stephen De Tomasi from Amigo Technology for shutting this down so quickly. Just another reminder folks be vigilant about what you open in your emails and if you have any doubts, delete it. If you do get hacked, change your password immediately.
17.01.2022 Still having horrible issues with our phones, if you need us pls call 0408 113 314 or 0491 741 589 or email [email protected] Thanks much
15.01.2022 Due date for SBSCH payments If you use the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH), and want to claim the tax deduction for superannuation payments, these are only considered to be paid once they have been processed and received by the employees' super funds, not the date the SBSCH accepts the payments. For 201920, super payments need to be accepted by the SBSCH by 23 June 2020 to allow time for the employees' super funds to receive the payments by 30 June.... Before making super payments, you should confirm with your employees that their super fund details are correct in their SBSCH account, and make necessary updates as soon as possible. Incorrect information, such as a change in superannuation product ownership could risk your clients not meeting the 23 June deadline. The due date for quarterly super guarantee (SG) payments has not changed. The next quarterly due date is 28 July 2020.
15.01.2022 Myth: myGovID and myGov are one and the same I won’t need both! Fact: myGov and myGovID might sound similar, but they’re not the same: myGov is a secure wa...y to access Australian government services online including our Online services for individuals and sole traders. myGovID is the app you download to your smart device to verify your identity when logging in to our online services including the Business Portal. In the future, you’ll be able to use the myGovID app to log in to your myGov account. Find out more at www.ato.gov.au//Accessing-online-services-with-myGovID-an/

14.01.2022 3 Key points to claim JobKeeper Before 26 April you need to: * Enrol on the ATO website (available 20 April)... * Pay each eligible employee $3000 gross. This is for the first 2 fortnights of the Job Keeper period. * Report the payments using Single Touch Payroll (STP). This is the preferred option and I don’t know what the other option is so just do it this way. The function of the JobKeeper is to allow the employer to keep paying their employees, it is a payment in arrears of wages the employer has already paid out in the month of April. We are still waiting on information for Sole Traders and Trusts We have a webinar with ATO tomorrow where we hope a lot of the grey areas will become clearer.

08.01.2022 If you’ve received a government stimulus payment this financial year, do you know whether you need to include it in your tax return? Different payment types are... reported differently: JobKeeper payments if you’re an employee these will be included on your income statement as salary and wages or an allowance. JobSeeker payments need to be included in your tax return and will also be included on your Centrelink payment summary. Accessed super you don’t need to pay tax on COVID-19 early release of super amounts, so you don’t need to include this in your tax return. No need to manually fill this out, most info will be automatically included in your tax return by late July. For more info about other income you need to report, visit www.ato.gov.au//Lodging-your-ta/In-detail/Tax-essentials/

01.01.2022 Gearing up to lodge? Make sure your income statement is marked as ‘tax ready’ before lodging. Most employers have until 31 July to finalise your income statemen...t, but we’ll let you know when it’s ready through your myGov inbox. If you do lodge before your income statement is ‘tax ready’, you may need to amend your tax return and, in some cases, additional tax may be payable. You can lodge your tax return using myTax via myGov on any device, or using a registered tax agent. For more info, visit www.ato.gov.au//Working-as/Accessing-your-payment-summary/
