21.01.2022 This is a guide that was written to assist surgeon's and hospitals decide which navigation, image guidance or robotics system to purchase, to achieve best patient outcomes. #robotics #neurosurgery #spine #navigation #imageguidance #patientoutcomes #surgery http://jss.amegroups.com/article/view/4479/html

20.01.2022 Obese patients can undergo safe anterior lumbar interbody fusion, positioned lateral using standard equipment and with ALIF cages. Two year follow up demonstrated very satisfactory patient outcomes. Very good fusion rates on CT. Surgery with low complication rates and provides a further surgical option for patients who have failed non operative management. https://lnkd.in/g9Rcyvh #surgery #spine #spinesurgery #patientoutcomes #sportsmedicine #doctor #neurosurgery #anteriorspinefusion #obesity #epworth

20.01.2022 One year ago 18 year old patient underwent artificial disc replacement. Look at her today doing what she loves to do! Mum reports the smile on her face was priceless! I love seeing my patients doing what they love!

19.01.2022 Today I received a great email from patient Chris Carlos, a professional acrobat. Prior to his operation he was unable to work. "I had a micro discectomy on 2 levels one year ago today. This surgery saved my career. I was back doing what I love 4 months after surgery and have made leaps and bounds since. I just wanted to share a few photos of what I am currently doing, while touring Europe." This is why I love my work.

16.01.2022 Wonderful opportunity to be asked to present to Sports Medicine Australia and to engage with colleagues on optimal outcomes for athletes. #surgery #spine #spinesurgery #neuro #neurosurgery #sportsmedicineaustralia #healthylife #fitness #sportsmedicine #sportsperformance

12.01.2022 I was delighted to give my first lecture on spinal surgery as Professor of Spine Surgery Research at Swinburne University to the Masters Students Faculty of Health. Epworth Swinburne University of Technology

12.01.2022 Patient specific pre-bent rods provide accurate and reliable corrections of scoliosis deformity. I really enjoyed teaching this group of surgeons from across Europe and Northern Africa. #spine #surgery #spinesurgery #neurosurgery #doctor #medicrea https://www.linkedin.com//greg-malham-1a9662147_medicrea-m

10.01.2022 Happy New Year to my family, friends and patients. Wishing you all a safe, happy and prosperous New Year! Each New Year offers us the opportunity to reflect on the year that is passing. 2019 was a year of change and professional growth for me. ... I consolidated my practice and consulting to Epworth Hospital Richmond, with the help of my wonderful practice team Lucy Saal and Karen Carmody. We love the new rooms and being close to my patients and extended team. I was honored to be invited to present on my passion at numerous forums and was able to present at Spine Society of Australia (Image Guidance and Robotics on Spine Surgery), Neurosurgical Society of Australia (Expandable Lateral Interbody Cages), Society of Lateral Access Surgery (New Interbody Cage Technology) and Deformity Down Under (The Ideal Interbody Cage). It was a privilege to present on an Update on Spine Surgery to the AFL Doctors Association conference in Sydney. I love to teach and taught Spine Surgery labs in Australia, Singapore and Lyon, France. I enjoyed the opportunity to extend my competencies and trained in the correction of complex spinal deformities at the University of Colorado in Denver. I also, again, had the opportunity to provide education of Post graduate neuroscience nurses at Epworth, young spine surgeons and general practitioners at the Australian Medical Forum. This is always fulfilling. I am fortunate to be supported by an amazing team at Epworth comprising office staff, Anaesthetists, assistant surgeons, vascular access surgeons, nurses, techs, radiographers, spine reps, navigation reps, neurophysiology, cell saver and hospital management. We may not change the world but if we can help and improve the lives of a few we are doing our job. Looking forward to 2020, and another year doing what I love!

09.01.2022 This is an article that I found well written, honest, sobering and real. https://www.kevinmd.com//keep-insulting-doctors-and-good-l

03.01.2022 We tried Epworth’s new image guidance platform for spinal fusion. 7D Surgical maps up to 400,000 digital fiducials of patient anatomy. The augmented reality allows me to get feedback on my tool position without the need to attach navigation trackers. #surgery #spinesurgery #epworth #7D #neurosurgery #neurosurgeon #pedicalscrew #doctors #patient #surgical #fusion #navigation

02.01.2022 What a wonderful meeting (Spine Society of Australia annual meeting) and opportunity to learn from Dr Christopher (CJ) Kleck from the University of Colorado, Denver. CJ spoke on innovative patient specific rods for correction of adult spinal deformity. I also had the pleasure of CJ visiting my operating theatre at Epworth Hospital.
