24.01.2022 Angel at twilight; cloud formations are always fun!

22.01.2022 Now for something completely different. B&W toned is always fun, creating a slightly spooky effect here.

22.01.2022 A little bit of B&W semi-abstraction before the storm!

22.01.2022 Who can resist a smokey red-ball sunset......Como Jetty this time!

22.01.2022 From the archives: Jessica in the 80's, not sure which year. At the Bunbury jetty which is gone now, shot on 35mm transparency.

21.01.2022 Beautiful moody light tonight. Lovely and still. Here's a couple of guys having a quiet beer by the Canning River. They told me the seat was underwater during the storm. You can see some jellyfish on the grass in the foreground!

21.01.2022 From the archives: Jessica, cute as a little angel! Back in the 80's on a cold winters day, doing lots of portraits and wedding too.

20.01.2022 When something different catches your eye......no Photoshop, just as is, the 'x' just happened!

20.01.2022 From the archives: Hows this for a sandy beach!! not quite hot enough for a swim. A trip to Scotland and the Isle of Skye, 1999. Definitely recommend a visit once the planes are flying again.

19.01.2022 Leis Kovacevic: What a pleasure to photograph a beautiful couple yesterday, big congrats to Leis & Bec!

19.01.2022 A radical contrast to last nights red sunset. Taken shortly before the red sundown looking the opposite direction the with smoke producing the milky effect.

19.01.2022 Another great pic from a recent tuition-shoot with star student Stephen Zucal. Beautiful dawn light, with zero wind and a few ripples to make the shot! Well done Steve!

18.01.2022 The girl I chose to marry! Loretta sparkles, from my archives, 1977, the year we married. Forever grateful for our many wonderful years together and more to come, I am sure.

17.01.2022 Harvest festival: I always remember as a kid our local family church having Harvest Festival around the end of summer (about this time of year). It was all abou...t being grateful for the abundance. Being a farm district, everybody grew most of their own vegetables (mum and dad included). The church’s alter area was covered in every vegetable imaginable, big and small and decorated with masses of local grown flowers too. Certainly an abundant display. This picture reminds me of those times at church, though eggplants weren’t as popular back then. These are from Loretta’s garden which has provided us with an abundance so I just had to make an image. I am truly grateful for our abundance in these modern times.........Blessed we are! See more

10.01.2022 A little something to warm the soul after all this wild weather. Enjoy the calm, take time to be still and listen to the waves lapping the shore. Taken last week while there was still smoke about, down at Point Heathcote.

09.01.2022 An interesting short video....worth a look!

09.01.2022 Smokey sunset down at Applecross Jetty. Unbelievable colour. Some underexposure helps too!

07.01.2022 Light: poetry in stillness here!

07.01.2022 The dull tones of city life create the melancholia, contradicting the harsh light that renders some faceless. From my archives, Travel -Vintage: Taxi-Cab rank. Auckland NZ 1976

06.01.2022 We were blessed with a visit today by this beautiful creature, the Monarch butterfly. They tell me the spiritual meaning is that of ‘you are on the right path t...o achieve your goals’. Loretta and I agreed that we hadn't seen a Monarch butterfly for a long time, years maybe. We just know that it is ‘a good sign’ for all of us in this topsy-turvy world. See more

02.01.2022 India 2007: From my travel archives. Flautist in Jodhpur at Mehrangarh Fort. I almost expected a Cobra to appear! Many fond memories of our tour of Rajasthan with Kathy Millett. (travel managers). Such an amazing place with so much fascinating history. I would recommend to all.

01.01.2022 From the archives: Good for a laugh! A selfie before they were fashionable. I went to a church school so I might have been looking for god! This was when I was about 17 and gotten hooked on photography and B&W. Note, plenty of hair and skinny!

01.01.2022 Maybe. Maybe it’s just one of those days that nothing works for you..or does it? Here I am on a balmy summer's evening looking for the right pic. ... Shoes off, feet in the clear, soothing river water and me, just watching. Maybe the pic isn’t perfect, maybe it’s not a masterpiece. Then the dolphins appeared. A mother and baby, fishing in the shallows of Point Walter. Curving around, creating little bow waves rippling and radiating out from there movement. The distant full moon peeps through the twilight. The mother dolphin surfaces in that decisive moment. In that moment, it all came to me. Perhaps chasing the ultimate photograph is not necessarily the meaning of life ? The moment was for me, being in the ‘now’. The ‘now moment’ was to just enjoy it all. Not to worry about everything else, this or that, just take it all in. Enjoy it. That feeling of peace and calm perhaps brought along by the dolphins. The softness of the light. The pastel colours soothing the heart. Maybe, who cares if it’s not the ‘best’ photograph I’ve ever taken? I enjoyed the moment. Maybe that’s all that matters.

01.01.2022 There's always light beyond the storm. On the Canning River.
