23.01.2022 Nice work by Denise and Co. who finished last weekend. Looks like you had a cracker of a time.

21.01.2022 Due to the on-going uncertainty relating to COVID-19 and the current emergence of hotspots interstate and now in Queensland, combined with tightening travel restrictions and border closures, the North West Canoe Club has reluctantly cancelled the 2020 Gregory Canoe River Marathon. We hope you will join us in actuality or virtually for the 2021 Gregory Canoe River Marathon which we hope will be bigger and better than ever. In the meantime, we thank you for your continued suppo...rt of the club and, once again, thank those of you who took part in the inaugural Virtual Gregory. And thanks again to all our sponsors without whom we couldn’t run the Gregory River Canoe Marathon - in reality or virtually! Paddle on and stay safe.

20.01.2022 A few more photos from Michael, Chris and Denise. They look like they've had a great time. Congratulations on the achievement.

19.01.2022 Phil and John smashed out their virtual target, including an epic sea kayak near Bribie Island. Congratulations!

18.01.2022 congratulations to Neil who completed the entire race since Sunday! You're doing much better than me. Loks like you had a great time.

17.01.2022 Another paddler across the line on Wednesday. Congratulations Duncan. He completed it in two 20km paddles!

17.01.2022 GREGORY RIVER TO BECOME DESIGNATED RESERVE Burke Shire Council is planning to turn the Gregory River into a reserve to protect the area from over camping ...and littering. CEO Clare Keenan said they're working under the direction of the Environment Department and want to introduce permits to help control numbers. Would you still camp at the Gregory if you have to get a permit?

16.01.2022 Phil from Brisbane looks like he had a blast on the Brisbane River. Possibly a little more busy than the ole Gregory River though!

13.01.2022 Some great photos from Stephen. Its great to see people from all over Australia doing the virtual race. We're so proud to call you all friends!

12.01.2022 Congratulation to Gary from the Essendon Canoe Club who did the full distance in one sitting - 4:15. fantastic Effort!

09.01.2022 Congratulations and thanks to everyone who entered in our 2020 North West Canoe Club Virtual Gregory River Canoe Race. We even had someone in Ohio, USA, join in not to mention paddlers from all over Australia. We hope you all had enjoyable paddles in these testing times whether you did it all in one hit or several shorter paddles. Or, like some of you, more than once! We loved getting your posts and photos. The last of the hats, t-shirts and stubby coolers will be posted ea...rly this week so if they don’t turn up in about a week please let us know - one or two have gone astray. We hope they are great reminders of your 2020 Virtual Gregory River Canoe Race. Depending on restrictions easing and the approval of the Burke Shire Council, the North West Canoe Club anticipates holding the iconic Gregory River Canoe Marathon on the 4th October 2020. We understand everyone is keen to socialise and experience our great outdoors again and hopefully the Queen’s Birthday long weekend will see us enjoying a coldie whilst sitting in the clear, natural, spring fed Gregory River. Fingers and toes crossed we will see you there, along with the other 160 paddlers to celebrate our 45th year. Paddle on. North West Canoe Club

05.01.2022 Family team Alan and Gemma completed the race last weekend doing a total of 6 paddles. "We did our 40km in 6 paddles over the full month. Gemma was a first time paddler, never even sat in a kayak before this marathon, so feeling very proud of her efforts. We had a lot of fun paddling together while chatting, admiring the views and enjoying our post paddle fish and chips each time. " Congratulations, you both must be proud!

04.01.2022 Congratulations to Tony for completing the Gregory Virtual in one paddle on the murray! Nice work!

03.01.2022 A great photo from Jo and Karen. It sounds like you had a great time! "We had a great time paddling from Barmah to Echuca in a Gregory racer TC2 yesterday, some 50km in mostly fog. Visibility was at times down to 20m. The fog started to lift about 1 1/2 to 2 hours into our journey. The Murray was picturesque in the fog. We really pushed ourselves for the 40km and sat back and relaxed for the next 10km to get into Echuca. It proved to be a bigger challenge than first thought given we had not been on the water much in recent months. It was great to see the Paddle Steamers steaming up river. It was fantastic to see everyone again and catch up with friends. "
