24.01.2022 Every year Gregory and Carr teams up with Minister Matt Trounce from the Uniting Church who, every year has a group of upcoming ministers in training. Peter and Brea had the pleasure of taking the group on a tour through our premises at North Ryde showing them all the "behind the scenes" work and explaining the very important relationship between officiant and funeral director.

To help our friends at Southern Cross Care Marsfield, Horton House Gordon, Goondee Aged Care Strathfield, Pathways Killara and Lillian Wells Parramatta, we donated some prizes to be won during their sweeps and some activity books for the residents! We hope everyone backs a winner today!

10.01.2022 When I did a drive by the former Manly Hospital site yesterday to get clarity for readers on whether it was open or closed (as cars were being turned away three... or more hours early) I decided to get tested as I’d been running a little hot and sneezing during the day. Aside from an eye watering sinus scratch (pictured here on my least flattering side ) the process was simple, the tester was kind and efficient and I received a negative result by 3am. (Woohoo!). As you might have seen in earlier posts, when I spoke to the manager there to ask why they were turning cars away despite the directive from Health to continue she broke down in tears. Before me was a woman worked to her limits and in need of support. She had been on her feet testing for 12 hours and had one break. She knew it would be the same tomorrow and the day after. It was clear she wanted to go on but couldn’t. Another tester, a registered nurse, confirmed a story I had yet to corroborate and therefore report that the previous night a motorcyclist in the queue rammed the gates when they had closed off testing because they were again, understandably, exhausted. The person on the bike was then followed by a number of other cars with people who had waited over six hours and were upset and yelling at the testers as it had been an arduous wait. While the fear and frustration is understandable, yelling at exhausted health professionals is inexcusable. The extra resources must, and should, start rolling in. I know the Manly MP is actively working to secure it for our area as the cases creep further and further south. These resources are, to state the obvious, critical to the wellbeing of our frontline workers and to our community response. I am so impressed with my experience with the testers and the speed in which I was provided results. I don’t know what phrase to use that doesn’t sound naff when thanking those frontline workers and those people in the background getting the lab results out. I salute you, I am comforted by you. I bow my head to you in the deepest gratitude.

06.01.2022 Christmas is forever, not for just one day, for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf. The good you do for others is good you do yourself.... Wishing everyone a happy and safe Christmas!

02.01.2022 Here are some gorgeous images from a Funeral Service one of our lovely funeral arrangers, Mel conducted this week. Something a little different having the company of this beautiful horse!

02.01.2022 Whilst Brea was down in Tasmania, she came across a man travelling around Australia and look at what his home was during his travels! The lid on the trailer opens up and is a complete bed inside featuring a TV and play station. He mentioned that he usually tows this behind his motorbike! He was kind enough to open it up and show her and let her take some photos, pretty interesting...
