Mads has been working hard training her mare for breakaway roping... she has been super dedicated and keen to gain what she's needed to start the process and trusting us with guidance. We've been working together on Sugar now for some time and she's been stepping it up every week.. Thursdays lesson we worked on her stop and Mads body position.. we did plenty of drills then roped a pen. Can definitely see the hard work paying off in this photo... 07.01.2022 Crooked Creek Ranch headed to NEGS (New England Girls School) in Armidale for a two day teaching weekend. Such a great couple of days with great kids from year 6 to year 12. We went to show what breakaway roping was all about with only a handful of kids knowing what it was.... most had only watched roping on the TV series Heartland and some had used Google to see what we do. We loved sharing our knowledge and the excitement amongst the groups was contagious. We took Rich Hic...kory and Chisum to help the girls get an understanding of riding and roping the calf sled. I think this was their favourite part. A wonderful teaching weekend with the girls loving the breakaway roping! So much talent amongst these kids at Negs it was amazing!! 05.01.2022 Crooked Creek Ranch Lessons... we absolutely love what we do here at CCR... helping people to learn. Bianca found us and came for her first two lessons last week. She has only watched YouTube team roping and breakaway roping and wanted to have a go... after two lessons is safe to say she's hooked!! Never picking up a rope before in her life and at 16yrs old she is a natural! We started on the breakaway basics then the horse saver to work on body position and then onto a hors...e to track the dummy slowly.
