15.01.2022 So, do we need an NBN at all? The increasing speeds of mobile, increased capacity and quality will probably mean we increasingly use mobile rather than our hard wired (or fibred!) connections. The downside of mobile is its congestability but should be addressed increasingly by the carriers. They need to keep up or go out of business (think Vodaphones do or die investment over the past year or so). I already have faster down and upload mobile speeds over LTE than than my cur...rent provider and faster than some of the NBN offerings. Mobile will only get better. I have this funny feeling that by the time NBN in its current form gets to me, I wont need it because my infrastructure will be completely wireless. When that happens, there will be a fibre network that is available at a very cheap price. Telstra and Optus must be impatient waiting for that day. See more
