25.01.2022 Busy day of sharpening and some fresh sets of skates ready to hit the ice. Glad things are returning to some form normality and people are getting back to what they enjoy! #gregsskatesharpening #icehockey #figureskating #keepthemsharp

23.01.2022 Aren't all sharpens the same? I hear this all too often. This pair of blades is a prime example why not. You can see the unpolished finish and the large scallop taken out of an edge on this $700 pair of gold seal blades. The end result after being sharpened correctly shows the damage gone and a much nicer finish to skate on.... Remember when you are considering who you let sharpen your blades, metal can't be added back onto the blade and major sharpening errors like this take a lot of life off the blade and impact the way you skate. #doitoncedoitright #gregsskatesharpening #figureskating

22.01.2022 Sharpening machine in overdrive!

22.01.2022 With Ice Rinks around NSW rapidly approaching opening it's time to check your skates are in a condition fit enough to take to the ice even if we all aren't physically! Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a sharpen DM this page or Call/Text 0431435801

19.01.2022 We don't just do figure skates. A pair of hockey skates in for a fresh sharpen before the doors of the ice rinks are thrown back open. You can see the difference in the finish after a "Greg" sharpen. #gregsskatesharpening #icehockey #sharp

17.01.2022 One of the most common questions I get is, "how often should I get my blades sharpened?" Ideally blades should be sharpened between every 20-30 hours of ice time. Routine skate sharpening will give you a consistent edge feel and avoid wasted ice time from sliding around on blunt blades or getting used to the bite of the edge after a fresh sharpen. With the recommencement of figure skating competitions and hockey games it's important to keep those edges sharp.... Easily work out your intervals between sharpenings by adding up your hours on the ice in a week and divide it by the 20-30 And see how many weeks you should be going between sharpens. #gregsskatesharpening #icehockey #figureskating

16.01.2022 Unnamed Coach came for a sharpen today. As you can see on the left the blade is very rusty after 3 months of no use and poor care. On the right the blades have been sharpened and rust free ready for a return to the ice this weekend. Be like Unnamed Coach and check your blades well before heading to the rink.

09.01.2022 Sunday 14th of June I will not be available for sharpening or blade mounting. If you need anything done urgently please get in touch in the next few days. Be sure to check your blades before the reopening of most rinks around NSW this weekend. You may of dried your blades after the last use, but rust is still prone to develop.

03.01.2022 As we grow closer to ice rinks opening across NSW opening after isolation I am still continuing to provide services. Whether it be a fresh sharpening on your existing blades, mounting up your latest isolation purchase, a new pair of boots and blades or even inlines, or getting a used pair of skates up to scratch to meet your needs. I am still open and providing these services. With an unknown timeline of when we will be able to grace the ice again, I am sharpening blades and preparing them so no rust develops during the wait.
