22.01.2022 I've talked about beans, then eggs, and today I'm going to talk about a fruit. Grapefruit This fruit has been on every weight loss program for the last 30 years or so, and for a good reason.... Grapefruit is low in calories (40 kcal for a normal sized grapefruit), high in nutrients and has a unique compound that aids weight loss. Why grapefruit aids weight loss is not completely understood but research has shown that consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice clearly helps when you want to lose weight. I say stick to the grapefruit as it has more fibre in it than the juice. Juice does the trick but the real fruit is always better to eat. It will help fill you up and keep you full. Dr.Greg (Chiropractor) P.S. Next week I'll talk about a tart little fruit that is a real fat burner.

20.01.2022 You're going to love this post because I'm going to tell you how to blast away your belly fat. This food is one of the best sources of soluble fibre around. It's the pear.... Yes, pears. A new study in the journal Obesity reveals that for every 10 gram increase in soluble fibre you eat DAILY, belly fat is REDUCED by almost 4%. I suggest you eat three pears a day. Not only that, soluble fibre whittles away visceral FAT- the dangerous kind that wraps around internal organs and is linked to a host of serious ailments, such as DIABETES and HEART DISEASE. If you can eat something like a pear and avoid diabetes and heart disease, wouldn't you want to do that? Experts believe soluble fibre fills you up so you EAT LESS, it prevents blood sugar spikes by slowing down how quickly carbohydrates enter your bloodstream and it reduces the amount of fat your body stores. That's a big one when you're talking about storing FAT. Okay, so after you've washed the pear(s), dice it and add it to your salads, add to chicken dishes or saute them or eat them with your low fat yogurt. Just changing this one thing will help you blast away that belly fat. Thanks again for being a patient at my office. You're a great patient. I love helping you learn what it takes to stay healthy. Sincerely, Dr. Greg (Chiropractor) PS Coming soon I'll tell you how to have a smaller waistline eating one particular food. It's something you only have to eat twice a week to have a smaller waistline. You'll love it. And start eating those pears.

18.01.2022 Changing your diet is one of the key components when you want to live a healthier life, lose weight and get more energy for the fun things in life. If you're changing the diet for yourself you should include your family as well so the also can reap the benefits of a healthier lifestyle. Get everyone helping you and life will be so much easier.... For some people it is hard to know what to include in their diets, there's a lot of information available and too much information is overwhelming. The list of what not to buy can be made very long and the focus for this email is instead on what you should buy while you're on the program. These are the foods you should always have at home; and you can eat as much as you like of these foods. They are nutritious and help you on your way to fitness and health. Get them on your grocery list today as you've been on this program for awhile! Beans Apart from some unwanted effects in your stomach area beans are excellent food, high in fibre and antioxidants. Beans contain high levels of protein which is very important for building lean muscles. The more lean you are, the better. The faster you can burn FAT. When losing weight you have to make sure to get enough protein so that you only lose weight from fat, not from muscle tissue. After all, muscles are what you want to keep. Protein helps you do just that. Beans digest slowly, and this is a very good thing as it keeps you satisfied much longer and prevents your insulin to spike (causing hunger or cravings). What I usually advise you to do is to replace potatoes, white rice or pasta with beans instead such as a bean salads or humous. Kids love humous with garlic, but if you're cooking for adults you can try to put some chilli in it to spice it up a little. In next weeks post I'll talk about another food you can eat, so you burn more fat and lose more weight or maintain your current weight.

17.01.2022 I'm wanted to talk about asthma today. It is a serious disease. But I can help you with asthma if you can follow a few guidelines. Here's what a lot of people don't understand.... People don't know that adjustments can help ASTHMA, but they do. Since your neck and upper back control the nerves to your lungs, getting adjusted regularly will help someone with ASTHMA. And as a sidenote, I want you to do a couple of other things that I know will help. Cut out flour, and sugar period. No flour and sugar means less asthma attacks. Next, drink lots of water. The more you drink the better. ALSO: Make sure you comment on my posts. If you have any questions when you're in the office, make sure you let me or my staff know about them. I appreciate you as a patient. Sincerely, Dr. Greg (Chiropractor) PS Don't forget. If you haven't referred at least one friend to the office in the last month, now is the time to do it. If they mention this post, I'll give them their FIRST examination for only $47.

14.01.2022 Hi there - I know a lot about weight loss, but today I just wanted to talk to you about curbing your appetite. JOG. Yeah jogging.... Researchers found that increasing your activity helps to curb your hunger pangs. That's what jogging, biking, and dancing all have in common. All of them help suppress food cravings for up to 3 hours! Activity reduces levels of appetite-stimulating hormones in your stomach. Try it if you want to curb your hunger. Drinking plenty of good clean purified water, rather than tap water, is also a good food hunger curbing thing. I love helping you learn what it takes to stay healthy. Sincerely, Dr. Greg (Chiropractor)

13.01.2022 I'm going to tell you how to kiss STRESS goodbye today. You know, bye-bye, don't want you know or ever. Okay you ready for this?... Have a comforting cup of TEA. Doing this at least once a day... ... will help you bounce back faster from everyday stressors, according to a study in the journal Psychopharmacology. I'm not a big reader of that journal, but when I found this, I had to share it with you. What the scientists that ran this test found was: Levels of the stress hormone cortisol dropped an average of 47% in volunteers who drank a cup of black tea BEFORE completing stressful tasks. Not bad huh? So make sure you have some tea around in case you feel the need to relieve yourself or you know you're going to get into a stressful situation. Have a great week and enjoy your life.

10.01.2022 So, here's a thing: you should always eat brown rice vs white rice. White rice has no nutrients in it and it puts on weight.... But here's something you can do that will boost the brown rice benefits that most people never think about. Soak the brown rice for a few hours before you cook it. This soaking causes the rice to germinate which more than doubles it's concentration of vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants. So soaking your rice is worth it!

10.01.2022 *** TESTIMONIAL *** Saw Greg today for a crook neck and it moved way more easily than it ever has under similar circumstances. Two hours on and it’s even better than it was after the treatment!!

09.01.2022 How to have a smaller bottom! Yep you read that right. Perching at your desk all day can increase production of FAT cells in areas you're putting pressure on--- namely your bottom. Now I don't know what kind or type of bottom you have, but I'm just telling you this.... If you want a smaller bottom, just sit on it less. This information comes from a recent study in the American Journal of Physiology-Cell Physiology. Try getting up hourly to reduce the pressure on your bottom and try to stand if you're making phone calls. Just a little tip if your bottom seems to be growing. Hope this helps. Sincerely, Dr. Greg (Chiropractor)

09.01.2022 *** MANAGE YOUR STRESS AND HEALTH NATURALLY *** Many of you will know I've been using essential oils more regularly in the office and have been very pleased with the results. I'm getting better adjustments and have a few extra tools to help with additional issues that arise like digestion or sinus. I'm keen to have my patients have some of these tools on hand to manage their stress levels better in between visits so that their adjustments hold for longer and they experience ...fewer symptoms over time. The following workshops are worth attending. They will be held in Joanne Matthew's home at 1 Neild Ave Paddington. Contact her on the number below if you are particularly keen in the Drummoyne workshop and she can send you details. Also, Joanne has made herself available for consults in our offices if you are interested but can't make these times. If you'd like a personal consult or are interested in a mini-class, we'll organise one at a time more convenient to you. Comment below or let me know when you're next in the office. You'll be amazed at the power of these little bottles of oil to really help in day to day life.

07.01.2022 Can you Prevent Spinal Stenosis? You might have spinal stenosis, experience SOME symptoms, but then, just THINK, they’ll go away with medications because you don’t have the symptoms as bad as you did. READ THIS if you have any symptoms that won’t go away. This picture depicts what your spinal cord looks like if I were looking at your spinal bones from a top view. If you notice the yellow part, that’s depicted as your CNS, or central nervous system/spinal cord.... You may not even know what Spinal stenosis is and what it can do to you, but it is a potential consequence of osteoarthritis and/or degenerative changes in your spine. That’s why we take x-rays. To find out if in fact you have things like spinal stenosis, and what can be done to either slow it down, or stop its progression. A lot of people, especially younger people don’t take that seriously because of one reason. They’re YOUNG, and therefore, they don’t have the issues they have when they start hitting 40 or 50 years old. The hallmark of spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the spaces through which the spinal cord and/or spinal nerve roots pass. Nerves and the spinal cord are made of very sensitive material, and when they come into contact with nearby bones, symptoms often result. Now when I say come in contact with nearby bones, I’m talking about just a slight amount to cause major symptoms. And really, what your body is doing is finally telling you, Hey, you have some problems. Get me to a chiropractor so you can get these taken care of. Arthritis and spinal stenosis usually results from aging or trauma from injuries, impact and the like. So what can help besides regular adjustments to your spine? Regular Exercise May Help Prevent Spinal Stenosis I’m sure not everyone that reads my newsletters will agree with me, but I know you’re probably one of the many that do. The fact is, we as human beings all need regular exercise and like I said, it just comes with you being a human. You’ll want an exercise plan that’s tailored to who you are as an individual - which means it takes your age, health concerns, including any arthritis or spinal stenosis (if you have those), and your fitness level into consideration (how long it’s been since you’ve walked or been to the gym). It may help you safely build your endurance, increase or maintain your spinal flexibility and develop those good ‘ole back supporting abdominal muscles. I’ve found out one thing. If you sit at a desk, you need to move every thirty minutes. That means if you don’t move, you’re not activating the proper hormones and enzymes to keep you fit. When you’re moving you are getting these enzymes engaged and working. When that happens, your chances of gaining weight are reduced, but that still doesn’t mean you can eat junk food and maintain your weight. So in summary, make sure you’re x-rayed to check any progression of spinal stenosis, and make sure that you move around every thirty minutes.

07.01.2022 Thank you to all those patients who have referred their family and friends to the clinic for the $27 Plantar Fasciitis check. Using the LASER and other special techniques we are making significant changes in foot pain and foot conditions. The $27 Plantar Fasciitis check is still on for this month. So feel free to share this with those who you know have feet pain.

07.01.2022 Think about what it takes... to live longer. Got any answers? Well I do.... Walk more often. Yeah, something as simple as walking can change your life forever. Here's what a new study I read about had to say. A new study in The Lancet, a world renowned medical journal revealed that fitting in just THREE 5-minute bouts of moderate activity-a day-such as brisk walking or bike riding can help you live three years longer! Nice huh? Now three years might not seem like a long time to you, but if you're doing this, it's going to help you add years to your life, feel better than most, and those 3 years will be quality years. When you start ageing, you know, when you're over 70 years old, you start thinking about ageing. Doing THREE 5-minute exercise routines a week can help you strengthen your blood vessels, improve insulin resistance, and reduce obesity-which is a key factor for staying healthy. I know that sounds simple, and almost unbelieveable, but if I were you, I'd start walking 5 minutes a day, everyday. Thanks for your time today. Sincerely, Dr. Greg (Chiropractor) PS In next weeks post I'll tell you how to add two years to your life by doing just ONE THING. You're going to love what I tell you next week. Make sure you don't miss it. PPS If you're getting regular adjustments those are going to help you maintain your lifestyle and your health as well. Call the office if it's been over a month since your last adjustment.

04.01.2022 Hi there You're going to like this post. Why?... I'm going to be talking about IBS. That's the abbreviation for irritable bowel syndrome. You may not have it, but I guarantee some of your friends or family do, so make sure you tag them in this post. They'll be indebted to you forever if you just take this the next step. So why am I talking about IBS, and what's the big secret about IBS? --------------- Go for a WALK. --------------- Yes, go for a walk. Regular exercise can relieve constipation in folks with irritable bowel syndrome. That's what the International Journal of Sports Medicine wrote recently. So how much do you need to walk to see a change? Aim for 30 minutes 7 days a week. This can be moderate walking, but just make sure you're walking and you're doing this everyday of the week... if possible. When you feel comfortable, move that to one hour of walking everyday, 7 days a week. You'll be surprised with your results. Just give it some time and watch what happens. After about 21 days it'll all get easier, and that means you're going to not only feel better but you're capable of doing this if you want it bad enough. Sincerely, Dr. Greg (Chiropractor) P.S. Oh yeah. Tag someone in this post or recommend this page to someone today. I love helping people with health issues, and that's why I am always telling you to make sure you're getting regular adjustments. Life is crazy, but life is good. If you have NOT referred someone to the office, now's the perfect time to do just that.

01.01.2022 We’re coming into snot season, so I thought I’d talk to you about some ways to support the immune system through chiropractic and other natural therapies. We’ll also touch on sinusitis.
