25.01.2022 If you understand these words, you have discovered a truth that you have been looking for, even if you do not realise you were looking for it. To realise this truth is to "know" with your heart and not your mind.

23.01.2022 The beauty we see in something is a mirror reflection of our beauty! In this presentation, I explore the nature of the paradigms that we operate out of. For most people in the world, life presents them with circumstances some expected and many unexpected where they find themselves simply having to deal with them as best, they can. Often, nothing prepares them for coping with some of the challenges they face, and they simply do the best they can.... In responding to life, we respond to situations according to the paradigm that we have become used to, which is the result of both our cultural experiences, as well as the religious beliefs, which in many cases, we have come to hold as being the only way to approach a situation. In my case, I found that my cherished religious practices did not provide a blueprint of how to cope with the challenges I faced in coping with abuse or my wife’s illness. Gradually, as I moved through and dealt with different experiences, I began to question my understanding of what I believed, and this resulted in the paradigm I operated out of changing, as I discovered a deeper truth behind the truths that Jesus taught. This presentation explores the following: - How our recognition of the beauty around us our pets, nature, other people can awaken us to our own inner truth and beauty. - Recognition of the beauty and goodness around us, REFLECTS us. - Such moments of recognition reflect our essence, an essence that is common to all created things, both on this planet and throughout the universe. - An analogy of two birds, and how this enables us to understand our nature as human beings. - What we identify with our mind and our body (senses) challenges associated with this approach, that beckon us to a deeper awakening. - Our challenges and problems are invitations for us to awaken to a deeper understanding of ourselves as being more than the physical body and mind, that many people identify with. - Salvation is not about someone saving us. Salvation, as taught by Jesus, was about awakening to your own truth, and learning to live in the awareness of this truth. Please feel free to contact me if you need me to clarify anything in this presentation. Blessings and peace. Gregory Virtue

22.01.2022 The lense of the INTELLECT vs the lense of EXPERIENCE... The following quote from Mooji sums up a profound, but simple truth about the nature of the 'self' that we truly are. It is the same truth that Jesus, and the many spiritual teachers and sages, such as Buddha, St Francis, etc., throughout history pointed us to; it is a message that has been lost amidst the libraries of church doctrines, rulings, laws and practices that have come down to us over the centuries. We ARE con...Continue reading

13.01.2022 A thought for Wednesday evening, as we journey through the week after Easter.

12.01.2022 This is so true, yet for most, unrealisable!!! That which you seek, you already are/have. Our inability to be in the 'moment', which is a function of identifying constantly with our mind, and the unsolicited thoughts that continually arise, deceive and rob us, and make us think that we have to seek God, whom we have come to believe is separate to and apart from us. Our active 'thinking' mind, and the habit of continually identifying with our thoughts, lead us to believe in a ...God as being separate to us, and therefore a God that we spend our lives trying to connect with, get to know, not offend, etc The great teachers, saints and sages throughout history came to realise this truth AND THIS IS WHY THEY ARR SAINTS IN THE EYES OF AN ORGANISATION, like the Church. They are Saints because they awakened to the truth of themselves, which impacted their actions. They are not Saints purely because of their actions, as we so readily think and accept. The actions of individuals like Mother Therese of Calcutta, St Francis of Assisi, Jesus himself, were actions that arose from their 'beingness' and awareness of this truth, and it was this that motivated them, and thus allowed them to be perceived in the eyes of the world, as being saints or 'great'! You and I are no different! The only difference is our awareness, and whether we are open to awakening to the truth of our own 'beingness'. We are already that, which many of us spend our lives trying to connect with. Such an incredibly beautiful but simple truth to awaken to. That is my prayer for all of us... may we awaken to the truth of the 'SELF'. AMEN. See more

07.01.2022 The realisation and awareness of the truth held in this quote will set you free! Whether we like to admit it, or not, we are ALL victims of our minds, and the thoughts that we entertain about ourselves, others, and situations we find ourselves dealing with. We do not even realise that our responses to people, events and issues arise out of the conditioning we have experienced as we grew into adulthood. Our families, friends, church groups and religious beliefs, and our cult...ural background all act as agents of conditioning. If you honestly examine your reactions to things that disturb your peace of mind, you will discover, as did I, that most negative responses and attitudes are the result of habit. When something like 'THIS' happens (whatever 'this' happens to be!) - our response could almost be viewed as having been scripted!! In other words, when this kind if thing happens, our response is generally a mirror image each time; ie. When I encounter this type of situation, this is the way I always respond! My response has become a habit... no thought us given to the response, because we are on auto-pilot! It might be a response to someone whom you believe has wronged you! It might be that you believe you did not get treated fairly! OR, it might be that people don't behave or treat you the way you expect. There are a myriad of things that happen, which evoke particular familiar, and often repetitive responses, which lead us downward, where we spiral into a negative state of mind, which causes us deep psychological pain. Breaking free of this conditioned, automatic, repetitive behaviour is a step towards freedom and awakening to your true nature. Most people are only aware of, and identify with, their thoughts and their senses. It is only when we respond to the invitation, that arises out of the suffering we experience though incidents and our "stinky" thinking, that we can begin to awaken to our true nature, which is peace and Joy. Our often negative thoughts, and emotions, prevent us from developing a deeper awareness of our true self, and thus we live our lives alienated from our true self/nature, always longing for peace, for something better, BUT not realising that we already possess that which we desire! May 2021 be a year of growing in a deeper awareness of our own truth... a year of profound awakening. Blessings and peace. Gregory Virtue

06.01.2022 A thought for Friday... Within many religious circles, suffering has been glorified as being a means of attaining God's blessing. It has been regarded as a 'virtue', something that is an integral part of reaching the pinnacle of our belief... eternal life! This view held by some religious traditions, has led people to misguidedly seek suffering for the sake of suffering. The attitude where suffering is regarded as virtuous, and as an end in itself to attain something greater..., can lead to a gross misunderstanding of the role of suffering. Everyone experiences suffering! That is part of being human, an integral part of the human condition. Some people seem to suffer more deeply than others, which introduces us to the mystery of life and suffering... and the question about why good people suffer? Robert Spira offers us a rare insight into human suffering and its purpose. Suffering, whether physical or psychological, IS integral to the human experience. No-one will escape it!! Suffering may take the form of an individual human experience, or a it may be part of a collective communal/societal experience, where individuals, as part of a particular community, experience a shared tragedy or event, that challenges them to the core of their being. It is never about WHAT happens! It is always about how we respond to an experience that is presented to us. Let's see what Robert Spira has to say... "Suffering is to the mind what pain is to the body. When you put your hand in the fire, you experience pain. The pain is not a mistake, it’s not something that’s wrong. The pain is the intelligence of the body, telling you: take your hand out of the fire. So pain is working on behalf of your wellbeing. Suffering is exactly the same at the level of the mind, a signal that something needs attending to, a message that we have mistaken our Self for a cluster of thoughts and feelings. In other words, suffering is not here to thwart us; it is not a punishment. On the contrary, it is here to help us. It is a wake-up call. That’s what suffering is. It is cooperating with your desire for happiness. It’s telling you, you’ve got your hand in the fire. Suffering is telling you: 'You have mistaken yourself for a separate limited self. Have another look!' To begin with, it is a gentle call, but in time it gets more and more severe. However, irrespective of its intensity, the wake-up call is always saying the same thing: we have overlooked or forgotten who we truly are." ~ Rupert Spira
