25.01.2022 #Repost @speechymummy THE DOIDY CUP I love this cup to help with transitioning to cup drinking as I’ve seen lots of toddlers have great success with it. I love it so much that I bought it for all the babies in my mothers group. .... The slanted shape gives a wider rim which means you and your babe can see where the liquid line is. (Swipe to see it in action). You don’t need to tip it up as high as a regular cup to get to the liquid - meaning less spills and more control. The 2 handles give little ones something to grip onto giving them more stability and control. . Learning to drink from a cup is not easy as liquid is very thin and requires a high level of tongue control. I introduced this cup at 6 months to Miss A. It hasn’t all been plain sailing, she coughs a lot when taking sips, which shows me that she’s finding it tricky to control the liquid in her mouth to swallow. She pushed the cup away a lot when I offered it after 1 month so we took a break from it, resorting to giving water from a spoon which she found easier. After a break she’s now more willing to use it again and it’s slowly getting easier for her to take a few sips from it as she develops. . Didn’t look at what else might be on the market now as these tick all the boxes for me.
