25.01.2022 Greta Historical Museum now has Alek Schula's much awaited book, about the people that came to the Greta Migrant Camp. It is called 'Beneath the Shadows of Mount Molly Morgan' and costs $55 each book (it's a big book), with arrangements for postage by Alek if required, with order forms for this at the museum also. Cash transactions only for direct book sales from the museum, sorry. Greta Museum is open each Wednesday and Saturday between 11am-3pm, with strict Covid-19 safety plans in place.

25.01.2022 Please send all questions to the Greta Museum's email address - [email protected] .Many thanks.

24.01.2022 The Migrant Camp 70th anniversary 2019 Family Get-together was well received well by those who attended, although the rain may have held a few back. Thank you to all the tireless workers - our MC Alek Schula, Liz Matt who never stops, Fred with his wonderful Australian poem, the dancers, the ladies who kept the kitchen humming, Greta Tidy Towns Committee on the raffle and book sales and moving tables and chairs and every one else who was good enough to pitch in to make it such a successful day. and all who lent a hand and brought a dish to make it a successful day!

20.01.2022 PLEASE NOTE: Greta Historical Museum will be closed until further notice due to the current health crisis.

19.01.2022 Greta Historical Museum now has MORE Greta Camp books in stock. Only $20, it makes a great present at any time. Add $5 for postage if you need it sent (in Australia) and mail a cheque or money order to Greta Museum, 96 High Street, Greta NSW 2334. We are normally open every Wednesday and Saturday between 11am and 3pm for those that want to drop in, situated in the former Greta Council Chambers, between the old courthouse and the Greta Bakery in the main street.

18.01.2022 CORRECTION to my previous post - I meant a historic THIRD book signing would be happening at Greta Museum!

16.01.2022 It's on again! Free Kids Holiday Activities at the Greta Museum - next Saturday 25th January 2020 between 11am and 3pm. Your last chance to write with a feather quill, dress a peg doll or fold a paper plane, and other fun things, before school goes back. Volunteers Marteka and Bonnie will be there to help you do all the old time pursuits (who will be supervised by me - Neridah). Preschoolers - come in for Story Time as read by Bonnie, a volunteer who aims to be a ...librarian one day. Free flavoured ice blocks for all participants. It's all happening in the former Greta Council Chambers, 96 High Street, Greta. Enquiries 0427657150.

15.01.2022 Greta Historical Museum has now re-opened with its usual hours on Wednesdays and Saturdays but we need to remind visitors we are being Covid-19 safe. This means on entry you will be required to sanitise your hands and sign our visitors book with some sort of contact number or email, which is a requirement of the government. Rooms in the museum are also limited for numbers, with the largest main room only able to contain 5 people at any one time, which includes ourselves. Use of reference material will again require sanitiser, or gloves (supplied). Despite this new way of visiting, time spent in the museum will still be a pleasant experience. We hope to see you soon.

13.01.2022 Due to the current health crisis, Greta Historical Museum will be closed until further notice. Books can still be ordered, to be mailed through Australia Post, by emailing [email protected]. We still have copies of Christopher Keating's Greta Camp book and 'Greta, The Town and Its People, 150 Years' compiled by Val Randall. Hope to see you in the near future, when the crisis is over.... All the best, Neridah

12.01.2022 October is coming up quickly for our Greta Migrant Camp Family Get-together in the Community Hall on the 12th - 11am - 3pm. Please bring a plate to share and any musical instruments you play so we can have some fun playing impromptu tunes like your parents did. We also have a new batch of Christopher Keating's Greta Camp Book for sale - $20 each or $25 posted. Museum is open each Saturday and Wednesday 11am - 3pm

12.01.2022 Not only does Greta Museum have copies of Christopher Keating's Greta Camp book, we also have Greta: The Town and Its People, 150 Years, complied by Val Randall in 1993. The latter book never fails to give hours of fascinating reading whenever it is picked up. Available from Greta Museum in the former Greta Council Chambers at 96 High Street, Greta which is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11am to 3pm.

11.01.2022 The winner of the Greta Museum's raffle of a bundle of books was Pam Graham from Greta . The books had a theme in common i.e. all were connected to the migrant camps in Australia. The raffle was drawn at the Greta Tidy Towns meeting held especially on the 12th June.

05.01.2022 For mail order enquiries and other queries please click on the 'see more of 'Our Story' on the right of this page for email and phone details. Unfortunately the price of the Greta Camp book by Christopher Keating is now $6 to be posted (the book is $20) and the price of the Camp photos DVD (DVD itself is $5) is now $3 to post. Val Randall's Greta book is $40 and postage is still to be advised. Neridah

04.01.2022 Please Note: The Greta Historical Museum will now be closed until further notice, due to the health crisis. All the best, Neridah

03.01.2022 A historic second book signing by Alek Schula will be held at Greta Museum on Saturday 15th August, from 1-3pm. A Covid-19 safety plan will be in place to protect everyone attending, particularly by strictly limiting numbers of people inside. Don't miss out on this excellent opportunity. Kind regards to all, Neridah
