Jamie beautifully and succinctly stated that art was important for mental health because Art is an aesthetic manifestation of the spirit. It helps us communicate beyond words that feeling of the sun rising within you. 24.01.2022 Two works I’ve completed at the end of this week, one took months, the other a week (this can happen, some paintings take longer than others even if they are the same size). Both of the same theme: exploring colour relationships and the magical qualities I find in the night landscape. Both to be box framed in raw oak. 19.01.2022 GIEY TIE! Okay, we all know how tough Covid is. As a long time sufferer of anxiety and a couple of bouts of serious depression, I completely understand and appreciate just how horrible mental illness is. There is no need to feel ashamed of or scared to talk about mental illness. Covid is sure making things tough for lots of us. In conjunction with my Melbourne gallery, Art to Art Gallery, I am donating this work, Take Me Away (I), an unframed oil on canvas (valued at $3...90) to give people a little lift and encouragement. All you have to do is answer the following question: Why do you think art is important to mental health and general wellbeing? 16.01.2022 Shape Shifters group exhibition will open on 9th October at Art Images Gallery, Norwood, SA. If you are interested in attending the opening, please let me know.
