25.01.2022 The hounds were in fine form tonight! They have been so playful this weekend and it seems Paul is getting the hang of this play stuff pretty well... Look how gentle he is with Summer, even though she is tormenting him and is about 10kgs smaller.

25.01.2022 Occasionally we may seem a little quiet online... That's because we often have a lot going on behind the scenes (both personally and with the hounds). We often choose not to share the sad times with our GRH followers, so as to keep the page as fun and upbeat as possible... But i feel I must share with you today. A few months back you may remember we assisted and nursed George through Osteosarcoma treatment... He had his leg amputated. Tragically George took a turn for the wor...se a few weeks back and he had to be let go very suddenly. He went from being happy and perky to being unable to stand within less than 24hrs. Just this past week we also had a call from one of our original hounds family, who had been battling some health concerns lately... Poor Marla had been battling some arthritis lately in her back and had developed a throat tumor. The plan was to spoil her rotten and make her as comfortable as could be when that time came. Unfortunately Marla took a tumble down the 3 stairs at the front of her house the other day and broke her hip. Sandy made the tough decision to say goodbye to Marla much earlier than planned, due to the pain she was currently in and her quality of life going forward. As you can see, we deal with so much more than we post online. This week we are processing yet another loss of one of our precious hounds, in sudden and devastating circumstances. Our thoughts and hugs go out to Chris (George's dad) & Sandy (Marla's mum). We grieve with you.

23.01.2022 Suzy waiting expectantly for her treat after donating blood to help save a life today, for a poor pupper who had rough surgery today... She was such a good girl and stayed still even without sedation! #greyhoundrehoming #blooddonation #greyhoundsmakegreytpets

23.01.2022 There's a game of bitey- face going on behind me!! #greyhoundrehoming #greyhoundplaying #blackgreyhound #fawngreyhound #adoptable #greyhoundsmakegreatpets

23.01.2022 **Potentially Indoor Cat Tolerant** Paul is a big happy 3.5 year old boy, who LOVES to play with toys!! He is fun loving and full of life. His favourite past times are getting pats from everyone, eating anything left unattended and playing with every toy within reach. He is currently in foster care with an indoor/outdoor cat, but has chased her when outside a few times. For this reason we think Paul would be best suited to a confident indoor only cat.

21.01.2022 Little dinner time routine, to show what good manners our hounds currently have. #hounddinner #greyhoundrehoming #goodsnoots #adoptme #greyhoundsmakegreatpets

20.01.2022 Here's some trivia for you all... The current royal family have owned greyhounds! RIP Prince Philip

20.01.2022 WELCOME YOKO Sweet, happy Yoko is just 3yrs old and has never raced. Yoko came to the coffee shop on her way back to HQ & she was very excited. Kids are super fun and sausage rolls from the cafe are very yummy! We also found some stairs while wandering the main st of Tamworth and Yoko was happy to do the short cement set and only needed a some encouragement for the larger shiny tile set.... We also visited our local Petstock for a bath and weigh in, where we met a fluffy little dog (cavoodle type) who slipped it's collar and run around the shop... Yoko wasn't overly interested until the said little run around and then she was excited to make a new friend. Once little dog was leashed again, Yoko was very polite and calm when meeting them. The information we have from her trainer leads us to believe she may be small dog and cat tolerant. #greyhoundrehoming #brindlegreyhound #adoptagreyhound #greyhoundsmakegreytpets #retiredgreyhound #nswgreyhound

19.01.2022 Ah... the blissful sleep (yes, Red is actually asleep) of a hound who doesn't know it's desexing and dental day tomorrow! #oblivioushound #greyhoundrehoming #sleepypuppy #redfawngreyhound #adoptagreyhound

19.01.2022 Just a quick video to show you some of the hounds at HQ... Yes, we only currently have 4 hounds, including the 2 newbies, Fay and Paul! Suzy & Red have gone for some visits to our foster carers. #greyhoundrehoming #newhounds #justchillin #blackgreyhound #bluegreyhound #fawngreyhound #whiteandblackgreyhound #adoptme

19.01.2022 WELCOME FAY & PAUL! Yes, it's new dog day at HQ again... Today it's raining and we have multiple new hounds, so we are trying a new introduction format. I had fat fingers and accidentally cut the first video off, so took another one a bit later and have merged them both together. No other editing was done.... #greyhoundrehoming #newhounds #happyretirement #notyetavailableforadoption #chunkygreyhound #adoptagreyhound #greyhoundsmakegreytpets

18.01.2022 Noticed we've been a bit quiet so here's a little smile for your Monday! -Stacey

18.01.2022 New front fence going in at greyhound hq.

17.01.2022 And she's gone! It's been a long time coming, but Suzy surprised us a few weeks back with a random cat test that she now doesn't mind kitty friends... So after a couple of weeks at 2 different cat fosters to double check her tolerance, Suzy has headed off to a new family to start a trial in a forever home! Goodluck Suzy! The 9 months wait was worth it.

14.01.2022 We so often see owners posting that their greyhounds don't like having their nails done & it's a horrible experience when attempted... We know how you feel. Suzy has been more and more sensitive about us doing things with her for a few months and lately clipping her nails has become a struggle due to her resistance. Do we have a game changer for you! Now, I was a little skeptical when another rehomer told me about these... But after spending months fighting with a number of ...dogs (especially Suzy) using the clippers you buy at the petshop and even buying a dremel, I gave in and ordered a pair of these (thank you Misty & Club Grey for the recommendation and insistence that they would be better). WHAT A GAME CHANGER!! Not only are they exceptionally light weight, but they cut through even Suzy's thick nails really smoothly. There is no grabbing or resistance like we have experienced using our other set, nor is there that snapping sound when they cut through the nail... You can also take smaller amounts of the nail off at a time, reducing the risk of hitting a quick. These amazing clippers can be found in a number of places online, however we did our research and found that another rescue actually sells them slightly cheaper than the online retailers! So, not only are you getting a good deal, you're supporting another rescue organisation. To get yourself a pair of these amazing nail clippers, head on over to Two Tales Kelpie Rehoming. #wow #greyhoundrehoming #gamechanger #greyhoundnails

12.01.2022 Today was bath day for Suzy, Red & Summer at Manilla Animal Minding. The lovely Yvette even managed to trim Summers nails with only a few GSOD's! Everyone was sooo pleased to have their bath... NOT! #greyhoundrehoming #wetsnoots #greyhoundsmakegreytpets #adoptme #adoptmyfriends

10.01.2022 "Take a greyhound to the park" they say... "Greyhounds need to run" they say... Suzy didn't get that memo! #greyhoundrehoming #lazysnoot #greyhoundsmakegreytpets #greyhoundlife

10.01.2022 UPDATE: The vet rang Jodi a couple of hours ago to advise that despite every effort being made, Serena succumbed to the snake venom. She received multiple doses of antivenom, but unfortunately it was just too much for her. Jodi and the Greyhound Re-Homing team are absolutely devastated as Serena was very timid when she arrived and had only just started making some progress. We apologise for the delay in updating, but Jodi has needed some time to process and to make arrangem...ents for Serena to be treated with respect. Jodi will be taking a few days to organise Serena and deal with the loss of this sweet little girl. ***URGENT*** This is not something we usually do, however we desperately need your help. Jodi came home yesterday afternoon to find Serena in severe respiratory distress. During a thorough inspection of Serena, it was noticed that her gums were pale, her tongue was quite dry and when we got her up to see if we could find what was wrong, noticed that she was extremely lethargic and barely able to stand or walk... We rang the vet and rushed her to the clinic, where she was still in advanced stages of respiratory distress. The vet feels confident that Serena had been bitten by a snake and administered antivenom. Serena's vitals started to improve... We left her in the care if the vet for the night with hope, but received a call a little later from the vet. Serena had to have a second antivenom, as she had started to deteriorate! We are reaching out for your help to save this beautiful young girl, so she may reach her 2nd Birthday! With the second antivenom being administered, we have exceeded $2000 so far... Serena may need another dose yet, but only time will tell and the antivenom is approx $800 per dose. Rather than setting up a GoFundMe, which takes time and not all donations will go to helping Serena, we are asking for any donation to be made directly to our account. This way we can pay the vet with card and they will see the money straight away. Donation details are: BSB - 932000 ACC NO. - 100360127 ACC NAME - Greyhound Re-Homing REF: Serena Any amount you may be able to spare will go directly towards saving Serena. Please share, so we can save this sweet girl who is just starting her journey to pet life. #URGENT #greyhoundrehoming #sickgreyhound #saveserena #pleasedigdeep

09.01.2022 Oh yeah! Just love when you find the right spot.have had a few that just about went asleep!

09.01.2022 Greyhounds are so hard to please... Oh, and so energetic! This is Suzy waiting at the vets for her turn to see the Dr. #greyhoundrehoming #blackgreyhound #lazysnoot #greyhoundsmakegreytpets #availabletoadopt

08.01.2022 Suzy needed snuggles... we've been cuddling for about an hour. #greyhoundrehoming #blackgreyhound #greyhoundsmakegreatpets #houndsnuggles #adoptagreyhound

08.01.2022 No one wants to play with Summer, so she is entertaining herself... Summer can't wait until she gets her very own family to play with! #greyhoundrehoming #fawngreyhound #adoptme #greyhoundsmakegreatpets

07.01.2022 **ON HOLD** Noah is a sweet, gentle 5yr old boy. He hasn't had a lot of temperament testing as of yet, due to needing to have his vetwork upon arrival. We have done a small dog test with him, which went rather well. Noah was interested in following along and peeing in all the same spots as our small dog, then took himself off to explore the area.... Noah has not had cat testing as if yet. He is not available for adoption just yet, due to having a bit of an accident in the yard and needing some stitches. Once he is healed, we will do some more assessing with Noah and determine just what type of home he would like.

06.01.2022 Paul has come to visit aunty Stacey for the afternoon and do some more kitty assessment before coming to be fostered a little more. While here she has just spent an hour on his shedding coat with the hacksaw... And that's not even half of it!

03.01.2022 **ON TRIAL** Yes, we hid this boy away from the world... he is just too sweet and about as close to perfect as a hound gets! Scratchy had a couple of health issues we wanted to get on top of before he was ready for a new home, which included a dental... That happened today, with surprisingly no extractions! For an almost 9yr old boy, Scratchy has pretty good teeth.

02.01.2022 When you sit like a lady to eat your dinner... Good girl Suzy! #greyhoundrehoming #adoptagreyhound #greyhoundsmakegreatpets #blackgreyhound

02.01.2022 All the hounds and volunteers at Greyhound Re-Homing would like to wish all our adopters, foster carers, supporters and followers a very Merry Christmas! We attempted a Christmas photo shoot this morning... As you can see, it went well. The hounds will get their Christmas presents this evening when I'm home to supervise.

01.01.2022 Poor Noah is still a bit wobbly from his day at the vet.. He had his desexing, dental and vacc today. #greyhoundrehoming #bluegreyhound #sorehound #poorlongnose
