Yesterday he had some lovely icy treats, and volunteers cooked some delicious fresh chicken broth and have frozen it in slow feeder bowls for him over the next few days to keep him extra hydrated and cool.... 20.01.2022 Greyhound Rescue alum Bingsu is now living life as a treasured pooch in Sydneys lower north shore! None of us expected to be spending most of 2020 at home, but Bingsu has been the greatest companion during a challenging time when we couldn't see many of our loved ones... We're super lucky to have him and our hearts feel ever so full. Happy Tongue Out Tuesday, Bingsu!

18.01.2022 Hi there, I’m Zulu and I’m Pet of the Week! I’m a strapping young lad with a heart of gold. I love nothing more than spending time with my humans and asking for lots of love and affection. I’ve got so many fans at Greysland with my good looks and charming ways, and I know you’ll be under my spell in no time as well. I’m looking for a home where I can play, eat and repeat! Because I’m still quite young, I can get a bit excited and bouncy sometimes, so I’d love a family who can... help me learn with some fun training and enrichment activities. Anything with chicken has got my vote! While I’m a big boy, I’m a very gentle soul and I get along great with kids. I can sometimes be a bit nervous about meeting other dogs, but I just need more practice (I’m sure some chicken will come in handy here too!) Above all, I’m looking for a home with some kind humans who can give me all the love and attention I deserve does that sound like your place? 16.01.2022 Hi there, Im Deoji! (Like D-O-G get it?) and Im Pet of the Week. I might be an older bloke by age, but Im a firm believer that age is just a number, and my sense of humour is definitely as fresh as ever! At the age of eight Im lucky enough to be enjoying life in a foster home for the first time, and let me tell you, pet life is greyt!! Im learning all about the comfier side of life and I love just hanging out with my humans, asking for pats and going on walks those a...re my favourite! I like having my own sleeping space so I think my ideal forever home would be one where Im the only dog, with some humans who will take me on fun walks and laugh along with me when Im being goofy, which is a lot! So if youre looking for some fun in your life, give my people a call and lets meet! ** A note from Deojis foster family** A tall, handsome, mature gentleman and something of a mystery. He likes long walks, boiled chicken and is very, very fond of small dogs to the point he will shadow their every move. Very confident in his demeanour, a little too protective of his bed space, he needs more recall training but otherwise is respectful. Obeys rules around furniture, he is self contained, relaxed and independent. Very keen on long walks, it is hard to imagine him in an apartment but he doesnt do much between walks. 16.01.2022 When Sarah brought Ellie home from Greyhound Rescue she was surprised to learn how relaxed greyhounds were. The biggest surprise for me was actually how low-maintenance she is, but maybe that’s just in contrast with raising a labrador puppy.. 09.01.2022 "The vivacity, positivity and sweetness of his spirit is both loveable and inspiring." Such beautiful words from Eddie's adopter, Richie. Sometimes rescue breaks your heart, and while we generally try to keep our page full of the fun and positive stories that come out of rescue, this one has a tragic end. Richie adopted Eddie just a short while ago anticipating a long future together as Eddie was such a young dog at four years of age. A couple of weeks ago Ed began to walk w...ith a limp. He wasn't his usual plucky self, the swagger fell from his step, and he was subdued and sleepy. Unfortunately, the news came back the Eddie had cancer and there wasn't much that the vets could do other than to keep him comfortable until his time came. This post is in tribute to the wonderful yet tragically short pet life that Eddie was able to have, and serves us as a reminder to cherish each moment with our loved ones. Vale, Eddie.

06.01.2022 I’m Leslie, and I’m Pet of the Week. Nice to meet you! I’m a friendly boy with such a gentle, sweet nature and handsome face. I love nothing more than spending time with my humans, and I’ll show you that by leaning my head against you to ask you for neck scritches, belly rubs and pats I just love all the attention! You might even call me a velcro dog, because being close to you is all that I want! I’m a bit of a gobble guts and I just LOVE food who doesn’t, right! So if ...you need someone to share your food with, then I’m happy to help you out. I love learning new tricks and commands, so I think that would be a super fun activity we could do together, with plenty of treats involved, of course! I like to stretch my legs, so my ideal home would have a backyard or courtyard where I can run around a bit, and hopefully have some playtime with you. I love walkies time too and I walk so well on the lead, so I can’t wait to get out there and explore the world with you! 04.01.2022 Hi there, Im Sunny and Im Pet of the Week! Im a big handsome puppy (born December 2019) who has landed on my paws in my wonderful foster home, where Ive been charming everyone with my happy ways and adorable bat ears. You can guarantee Ill never miss the sound of a treat packet being opened! I came to Greyhound Rescue with an injured foot, and this required surgery (I was very brave!). While I now don't have as many toes as everydoggy else, it shouldn't impact on my lif...e as a pet at all. ** A note from Sunnys foster carer** Sunny is a super happy puppy! He has been living with two other greyhounds. Hes friendly with all dogs, but needs more supervised socialisation because he doesnt realise how big he is! He is mostly toilet trained, but will pee inside if he is alone for more than three hours. He LOVES toys and tennis balls. Hes just started learning to play fetch with tennis balls. He can sit and is learning down. He is super smart and loves enrichment.

03.01.2022 As part of our rehabilitation programs we do desensitisation and counterconditioning activities with our hounds to help prepare them for their new life. So what's going on in this video? Prince the 'Oodle is a proud member of our testing team who comes each week to help our hounds learn about other dog breeds, as many may have never seen a dog who isn't a greyhound. Here we see him doing some off-leash socialisation with Corleone, whose tail is giving away all his secrets.... On the other side of the fence is Snuggles, who can be a bit unsure about non-greyhounds, but is making great progress. We’ve put lots of treats in that ball pit so that he can be happily engaged in a fun and rewarding activity while prince is nearby. We ensure Snuggles is comfortable and having a great time by watching his body language so we can show him Prince is good company! By doing short sessions like this with hounds like Snuggles we are able to give them the best chance of success.

She has an injury to her toe which is currently being treated, however she is finding it stressful living in a kennel environment and she needs somewhere quiet to recuperate and come out of her shell. She is a timid girl who needs a home with access to a small courtyard or similar, no stairs to navigate, and no kids. She has tested as friendly with older, calm dogs.
