11.01.2022 Hi All Just reminding everyone that the club would like the attendance of as many people as possible to the gingin Shire meeting this Tuesday the 20th of October at 2.45pm for the shire meeting due to start at 3.00pm sharp. Once again the officer is not recomending the approval for the use of Gingin North Airstrip and this time actually states that they intend to use the airstrip as offsets for road widenings.... See the attached link starting at page 275 https://www.gingin.wa.gov.au//agenda-ordinary-meeting-of-c This airstrip is an important asset with a cost in 1943 of approximately 150000 Aussie Pound it was constructed at the same time Bindoon Airstrip was constructed . From the picture below which is the original drawings produced for main Rd that I dug up in the state records office you can see the diagrams of the hardstandings. These in general are mainly still intact although the hardstandings are not owned by the shire. Please get up there and support your club and aviation community so this council does not destroy this airstrip and an important part of our aviation safety network Those that are going please put going as a comment so we can get a feel for the numbers Please invite any interested party that will support us With thanks Mick
11.01.2022 Hi Club members I am writing to you to ask you to please set aside this date and Time Tuesday 20th of October at 3.00 pm sharp. This is the day our request to use Gingin North (beermullah )airstrip goes to council for consideration. To date I must say that certain officers on the council have been unsupportive of our application mainly because their is an agenda by that section of council to use the airfeild as an offset for bushland requirements in relation to road wideni...ng. The excuses that have been used to date are as follows From the CEO The airstrip is unsuitable for use incorrect as we have emails from CASA stating it is suitable The airstrip has no required fences again airstrips don't need to be fenced according to CASA The airstrip has no car access Again why do we need car access other than to maintain the strip ,we fly in and fly out and car access can be easily done by 4WD And the list of excuses goes on and on. So I am imploring you to join us at the council meeting at 3 pm an make your feelings know to these officers so as we can successfully gain access to this airstrip and protect its heritage value well into the future Please share this with all you aviation friends the more the merrier
10.01.2022 Hi All Jack and i have been working on a covid 19 procedure etc etc and have come up with one that we feel addresses the issue at the moment The prime minister was pretty direct on TV this morning and reading between the lines we cant stop this thing but we have to slow it down At this stage transmission rates are low in the community but that doesnt mean we should not be self aware and act accordingly We will post notices around the club rooms this weekend plus Jack has e...mailed out to his student base I am a bit short of the following so if anyone can spare some that would be great Toilet paper just a roll from a couple of members will se us through Hand Sanitiser cant buy any at the moment really just need this for outside the club rooms The rest is in hand We will update the policy as time goes on and may have to cease operations but will be lead only by what the Aust government recomends
10.01.2022 Well the government has decided that we are doing well fighting Covid 19 New indoor and outdoor gathering limits of 10 people start as of tommorow Social distancing still applies So club events are on again Let you know what is happening soon ... Whoo hop Happy days

07.01.2022 Well hello team GRFC Today Rod an I connected the water from the honey shed out to the flying club Thanks to Kim a for supplying the pipe and rod for the use of his mini excavator What does this mean Well from now on we will have an continuous supply of water rather than be reliant on rain water ... This means we can water the grass near the club rooms and keep it green We can use the water to irrigate the runway in the future if needed It might not sound like much but it was over 400m of 2inch ag pipe and fittings Plus digging it in and connecting it all But I can say it works great except for a couple of leaks I will fix them in the next week Happy days in the future if needed we may have a full grass strip Grass strips are awesome Happy days See more
07.01.2022 Hi All We have the councillors of the shire of chittering attending our club on Saturday the 21st to run though our development application Prior to that happening I would like to run a quick busy bee I propose to that this sunday between 10 and 2 We need to put our best foot forward as a club in relation to this application so things that need to be done are moving and cleaning ... Whoever can help would be much appreciated See more
06.01.2022 Hi all Well for those that arent aware we are shut down at the moment I am sure we will beat this virus soon and it will be back to bussiness For those that have been issued club membership invoices could you please pay those if possible as we are low on funds and whilst the club is shut be rest assured club members are still working in the back ground improving things for members Hanger construction can still go ahead at this stage as soon as we receive shire approvals ...which should be soon We are also working on fencing repairs to give better control of the cattle There was one mad bastard that kept clean jumping a 900 mm high fence Hes not around anymore Also with the approvals will come a runway extension A further 300 m to the west This extension will further enhance safety of airfield For those that own aircraft now is an ideal time to do some maintenance if you can afford it Just remember if you are laying up your aircraft for long periods of time please consult your engineer as to what can be done to lessen wear when the aircraft comes out of moth balls Hoping will be up and running soon Mick See more

If you would like to camp overnight room will be available for caravans, tents, etc. Some room in hangars is also available for swags and roll out beds. 01.01.2022 Ok well it seems the story on Yanchep news online is getting some traction The thing I find most annoying about this is the fact that the CEO just doesn’t seem ...to understand the local government act The act is clear if their could be a perceived conflict of interest the CEO must declare that conflict so as the subject is completely transparent It perhaps could be said that the buck stops with the CEO If the CEO cannot set a perfect example for his staff to follow and other shire councillors then perhaps he should not be in the position of CEO See more
01.01.2022 The new runway extension is certainly looking good thanks Kim Fewster and Kurt unbelievable really really impressive
01.01.2022 You see Michael Donsen it must of been 2 stroke
