24.01.2022 This is just crazy. Things have to change. People have lost their lives. Generations of blood sweat and tears have gone up in smoke. This is far from over. But all politicians want to do is horse trade native forestry for preferences at election time to appease the far left greens. Sustainable Native forestry holds the key to renewable energy in Australia and the production of renewable energy from Australia’s native forests regardless of land tenure holds the key to Australia’s continued bushfire crisis’s. Wake up Australia FFS (For Forests Sake)

19.01.2022 North West Victoria blanketed in smoke from the fires in NSW today shame to see all that renewable energy literally go up in smoke. Time for a change

18.01.2022 Take the time to read this please. Thanks to the Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews this is where Australians who don’t do their research will be getting their ti...mber from. Congratulations Daniel Andrews you are a moron. Always purchase Australian grown native timber. It’s sustainable renewable stores carbon and the harvesting is heavily regulated in one of the best timber industries in the world See more

18.01.2022 Our business was for the 5th time this summer called upon today to assist with a bushfire in our local Red Gum State Forest. Considering the amount of people, political party’s, celebrity’s and so called experts who claim climate change is to blame for the bushfire crisis that’s has devastated much of NSW and Victoria can any or all of these people please explain how climate change has caused catastrophic fires everywhere except in our Red Gum Forests??????????? Isn’t clima...te change an all encompassing global phenomenon????? I can explain,it’s the forest management. Fully integrated operations that remove residues that contribute to carbon neutral renewable energy ensures fuel loads per hectare are manageable and the result of this is bushfire is also manageable. 5 bushfires and a grand total of under 20, yes twenty, hectares impacted. Not one crown fire and the area burnt will continue to support native species. Fuel loads are the one thing forest managers can control. If managers of native forests choose to leave fuel loads unmanaged and build up to recent levels the results are unfortunately what we all have witnessed since September last year in Australia. Tragic loss of life, Devastating loss of property, livelihoods, completely avoidable loss of our magnificent native forests and the now reported 1 BILLION animals. Renewable Energy is the key to Australia’s forest management. But what do I know I’ve only been involved in native forestry all my life and have always listened to my peers in the industry. There are generations of knowledge in native forestry perhaps politicians should listen. Fuel loads are the key See more

15.01.2022 Melissa Easton is the winner of our firewood giveaway. Congratulations Melissa I'll contact you shortly. Melissa has won a free tonne of firewood

15.01.2022 Apart from the tragic loss of human life the devastating loss of property and livelihoods News outlets are reporting that 500,000,000, yes five hundred million or half a billion animals have been killed in these bushfires. Horrific outcome. That’s 29,000,000 animals per week. So in 100 years of timber harvesting that means the timber industry would have had to kill 96,200 animals per week for, yes, 100 years,...............think about that FFS

14.01.2022 Cutting red gum firewood on its ear!!!!!!

14.01.2022 On Sunday we were called out by Forestry to help fight a fire in the local State Forest. Within 90 minutes of being called we had our log skidder on the ground assisting with the fight by widening the initial break around the fire then worked till dark Sunday night and all day Monday putting in secondary breaks around the fire area. The local timber industry provides critical assistance and a fast response time to fire in state forests. Without help from industry with their equipment close by fires can quickly get out of control. Forestry Corp. NSW did a great job fighting and controlling the fire!!!

14.01.2022 We are going great guns getting our wood in this year. Here’s another load on its way into our yard from the forest. Nows a great time to order your wood to avoid the rush in winter.

12.01.2022 One bucket at a time we’ve been keeping people warm for over 30 years. The best thing about this bucket of firewood is that it’s sustainable, renewable and every year the firewood in the bucket helps reduce the impacts of bushfire on our forests, our communities and the tax payers of Australia. Renewable sustainable energy is the key!!!

12.01.2022 What a fantastic evening in Barham. The opening of the Barham Boardwalk. Incredible work by the community and volunteers. 280 working bees and 7,500 volunteer hours of labour culminated in a magnificent asset for the township of Barham Koondrook. Our business is extremely proud to be a very small part of this project along with other members of the red gum timber industry that employs over 100 people in the region not to mention the indirect jobs we support.

12.01.2022 Hits the nail on the head about time Australia woke up

11.01.2022 Time for a frothy!!!! Just spent the weekend 20 hours on call and shifting equipment in readiness in case of fire. Not only do we produce renewable energy to reduce the fuel loads available and decrease the impacts of bushfires we also have trained firefighters and certified equipment to assist in case we have a fire break out. Our ability to respond immediately when called upon is critical in helping FCNSW reduce the spread of in our Red Gums.

08.01.2022 http://www.dailymail.co.uk//ar/The-map-Australian-see.html Get ready for a long cold winter by the sound of it

08.01.2022 Just had this photo dropped in to me from my good friend Lindsay Jones. This was the first tree Gelletly Red Gum Firewood mechanically harvested on the 21st of October 2008. Lindsay was the forestry officer at the time and taught me a lot about thinning red gums. Lindsay's work in the development of the thinning of red gums should never be forgotten. As a result of thinning, Red Gum Forests are now much healthier and more tolerant of drought and dry conditions not to mention growth rates also increased. Thanks Lindsay.

08.01.2022 Awesome week away with Frank Gyorfi (Frank the Tank) and Mark Cavanagh we now have 4 accredited fire fighters trained and ready to keep fire at bay in our local Red Gum Forests. We spent the whole week in Tallong NSW training in various accreditation requirements in a mix of theory and practical exercises. We learnt an unbelievable amount about fire fighting and fire behaviour and our own safety in a fire situation.

07.01.2022 Welcome to the first day of winter. You just can't beat a wood fire!!!! Not only does it heat your home it's great to stare into and marvel at its beauty. Gelletly Red Gum Firewood proudly heats your home sustainably renewably and cost effectively!!!!!

We are sending all our love to the entire Davis family at this sad time. Athol has been part of the Red Gum Timber Industry for many many years and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Rest easy old mate and may all the wood in heaven be long and straight. RIP Athol.

03.01.2022 Can’t have a fire without fuel.

03.01.2022 After recently being accredited as fire fighters with Forestry Corporation it didn’t take long to put our training into action, on a catastrophic fire day when most people are avoiding fire and staying out of the heat at all cost we spent our third day in a row fighting a bushfire. The fact we were able to keep it within it’s containment lines on a day like today is a credit to our supervisor Steve Hammond from FCNSW. Wes Brennan Mark Cavanagh and Dan Carter we worked as a ...bloody good team and a massive thanks to Frank Gyorfi for holding the fort on night shift. 44 degrees and strong wind gusts it was a hectic day We love our Red Gums and took great pride in our role over the last three days. Back out there tomorrow!!!!!!! To all our forestry friends on the north coast of NSW we can’t imagine how bad it must be up there keep safe and good luck to you all See more

03.01.2022 Not only are we producing renewable energy on a sustainable basis just look at how good the forest looks after we harvest it!!!!!

03.01.2022 Gelletly Red Gum Firewood proudly supporting the Burrumbuttock Hay Run with Rob Ohalloran
