21.01.2022 FEFA SIGNING ALERT GNSW would like to say a huge congratulations and good luck to Angus Robbins, who has accepted an offer to play in the Spanish Football League for the Murcia Cobras for the 2021 season! Robbins has built himself an impressive resume in the past few seasons that he has played. He first suited up wearing the maroon and gold of the Wollongong Mustangs for their 2017 Colts team. 2018 was an impressive year for Gus as he was not only apart of the Kookaburra ...Bowl winning UTS Gators Colts, but he also was selected to represent our state in the Wolfpack squad. Continuing on from a very successful year on the field, Robbins was apart of the 2019 UTS Gators Men’s team who made the second week of the play offs. He then made the switch back to the Wollongong Mustangs for the 2020 season. We asked two of Robbin’s coaches to say a few words: Gus has worked hard at his craft and has led by example with his work ethic and attitude both on and off the field. We can’t wait to see Gus make the most of this well-deserved opportunity and represent the Mustangs and GNSW communities in the Spanish league. 16.01.2022 2021 NSW STATE Due to the recent post from Gridiron Australia, we are under the understanding that the AGL and WAGL that was due to take place in 2020 has now been pushed to 2021 - and the upcoming U19’s JAGL will be held in 2022. We are now accepting applications for the coaching and management positions for the 2021 Coyotes and Wolfpack. We are encouraging all past and present coaches/support staff to apply. ... The positions include but are not limited to: - Head Coach - Offensive/Defensive Coordinators - Positional Coaches - Team Manager - Medical Staff We are still of the understanding that this next years championships for both men and women will be held in a possible in camp style format for men that the women’s competition currently uses. No dates have as yet been confirmed. 11.01.2022 COVID UPDATE With the developing COVID cluster in the northern beaches and the risk of it spreading around Sydney, the GNSW Board is strongly recommending that all clubs cancel any face to face gatherings (trainings, film, social events) to minimise the risks posed by large group gatherings. We would suggest that this is put in place until at least after Christmas when it can be reviewed. We also need everyone who did not sign into the venue that they attended on the week...end to please sign in now to help with track and tracing if it gets to that point. This applies to both Wollongong and Forestville.
