04.01.2022 Condolences from all of GV to the Rangers and Craig's family and friends. A true legend of the sport in Victoria
03.01.2022 It has been brought to our attention by our members that we should have been more outspoken in our support of the #BLM movement. I wish to fully acknowledge that I and GV should have been more active. Our diversity is our strength. Gridiron Victoria prides itself on not just being diverse but actively encouraging and supporting participation from players and support staff from a range of cultural backgrounds. But we acknowledge we can and should do more. Starting today we wil...l be developing a diversity statement for the league and be encouraging those clubs who haven't got one to begin writing one. We will also be looking into other pathways to foster a more inclusive environment for all our members no matter their race, gender or identity and we encourage all our members to come forward with ideas on how we can improve. If any members feel or have felt like they have been discriminated against, I encourage them to contact me personally, or any member of the GV board. It has and never will have a place in Gridiron Victoria. Daniel Noonan Chairman

02.01.2022 Gridiron Victoria wishes to advise that following the State Government announcements today that we have made the decision to cancel all 2020 seasons. The cancellation of these competitions is incredibly disappointing, however it was seen as the only viable decision and in the best interest of all clubs and participants. Gridiron Victoria understands the importance of the connection and friendship that community sport provides, and we encourage all clubs and participants to st...ay in contact with each other and support each other wherever they can. We will be looking into all options to play football in early 2021 and then continue with our normal scheduled season in August 2021.
01.01.2022 The Gridiron Victoria Board and Clubs are happy to announce that the 2020 season for all competitions will be going ahead. After a meeting of all club presidents and GV Chairman Daniel Noonan it was decided to postpone the start of the season until October and play a split season with games up to December 13th before taking a break for the Christmas and New Year period and returning for the remaining games in finals in early 2021. 01.01.2022 2021 Gridiron Victoria Updates ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING At the 2021 Gridiron Victoria AGM a new board of directions was elected. The board currently consists of: ... Daniel Noonan Chairperson Andy Nilsson Troy Haynes Bret Mullavey The current board would like to thank Casey Marin, Matthew Jenkins, Sarah-Jane Mills, Sabine Wagner, David Murphy and Thomas Prince for their service and dedication throughout an extremely difficult 2020 season. 2021 DIVISION ANNOUNCEMENTS For the 2021 season, the age eligibility for the now Under 15’s division will move to Under 16’s (with age eligibility taken at the 1st of January of the competition year). This will be a permanent change. This decision was as a result of strong feedback from the 2021 GV Member Survey. The change should also see the transition from Under 16’s to Under 19’s be less substantial. 2021 will also see a return of two divisions for the Men’s competition, with the intention of two divisions being a sustainable structure for years to come. Gridiron Victoria will soon begin the process of consulting with clubs around divisions and entries. Again, this was off the back of strong feedback from the 2021 GV Member Survey. GRIDIRON VICTORIA COMMITEE We have also formed a number of working committees to assist with the running of the sport. These newly formed committees are: - Competition - Governance - Strategy - Marking and Events - Finance - Membership We're seeking members to join these newly formed working groups which we hope will encourage people to get involved in areas of expertise and relevant interest. If you have any interest in helping with the growth and development of the sport here in Victoria, we’d love to hear from you at [email protected] Stay tuned for further announcements over the coming weeks!
