14.01.2022 With the current situation (trying to avoid the "C" word), this quote from Victor Hugo is a peaceful reminder of the truth. Eventually, the sun will rise - and this applies to much in our lives. The recent changes to how we are operating as a centre are still in force. For more info, visit www.griefcentrewa.org.au... Please dont hesitate to send us a Private Message through messenger if you need a little one-to-one chat. We cant promise an immediate response but well get back to you ASAP. Much love to you all.

13.01.2022 Facing your fears is what life is all about. Step outside that comfort zone. Stop living out of or in fear.

12.01.2022 Participants are currently being sought for a 'Writing for Wellbeing' Curtin University research project to study the effectiveness of writing as a means to transform grief. The research has the support of the Grief Centre of Western Australia and is funded by Lotterywest. Two participant categories are required for the research: people who are grieving the death of a loved one, and those who grieve another loss, such as a relationship breakdown, loss of employment or health..., infertility, and/or any unwelcome change due to COVID-19. The research workshops will run in person in Tuart Hill over six Saturdays in 2.5 hour sessions. Potential participants are encouraged to be in touch immediately. Please share this post on Facebook or with individual friends who you think might be interested - further details, including contact details, are in the attached flyer.

09.01.2022 Harry Potter could be the poster child for #NationalGriefAwarenessDay. As he lost one friend after another in the battle against Voldemort, we witnessed and even shared his grief. Today and every day, remember this: Grieving hurts, but it is natural, normal, and healthy.

09.01.2022 Forgiveness prevents their behaviour from destroying your heart. Definitely easier said than done.

06.01.2022 The heartache of suicide loss is often a deep and lonely journey. The Grief Centre of Western Australia recognises this and offers support, compassion and healing pathways for the road ahead. Weekly Grief Support Groups, and specialist Grief Counselling Sessions, are available in-person (at Tuart Hill) and on-line to offer support and understanding for family and friends of people who have died by suicide. Please be in touch if you, or some-one you know, is seeking this care. See also the link below to gain insight on grief associated with suicide, especially for men.

06.01.2022 We're approaching the end of the year. Remember that we are supposed to LEARN from the past, not LIVE IN the past. In grief, the pains of the past are very real; but so is your power to write your future - actively not passively.

05.01.2022 Meditation is so more than just closing your eyes and being still.
