25.01.2022 Great Investment Briefing by Colonial First State. Good insight to the situation in China and a really motivating presentation by Alisa Camplin OAM and Olympic Gold medalist in aerial skier.

25.01.2022 It was really nice for Carolyn to pop in this morning with her new baby boy Alfie. He is adorable with so much hair and they both seem to be doing really well.

24.01.2022 Enjoying the Vanguard Market and Economic update - Catching the dragons tail. Key words "frustratingly fragile, challenging, and volatile but not bearish". Expectations are that a Chinese hard landing is unlikely, as is a recession in Australia.

23.01.2022 Enjoying our office party. Far too early for Xmas but such great fun!

22.01.2022 Dont panic. The markets might be catching the headlines but for a lot of people the massive falls in the Aussie dollar have helped the international components the portfolio. Any concerns please get in touch but remember the time frame for investment is key.

21.01.2022 A really enjoyable End of Financial Year drinks last night for clients. Really makes me appreciate how awesome my job is and how wonderful the people are that I get to deal with everyday.

21.01.2022 RBA keeps rates on hold at 2% at todays meeting although it seems that investment lending is getting more expensive.

21.01.2022 Really useful update by Ausbil today. Will be interested to follow some of the predictions including the Fed increasing rates in September. Some encouraging but conservative noises coming from the speakers

21.01.2022 Genuinely feeling excited to be at the FPAs Best Practice Forum with some excellent sessions and speakers

20.01.2022 A Great Debate with a very diverse range of speakers at the second day of the Portfolio Construction Forum

20.01.2022 Really good economic update by Head of Economic and Market research at Colonial First State - Stephen Halmarick. My key takeouts are that they expect rates in Australia to fall further as soon as August but to rise in the US in September. This would likely have a further impact on currency. I was also lucky enough to meet Ita Buttrose who presented on the Golden Age of retirement.

20.01.2022 Feeling a little humbled to be nominated for the AFA Adviser of the Year today.

20.01.2022 Great roadshow by Asteron with the legend John Eales, and no I'm not on tip toes...

19.01.2022 Managed to finalise our new website. Would love to know any of your thoughts. http://griffinfinancialservices.com.au/

19.01.2022 Still a little in shock by Brexit vote going to "Leave" and David Cameron stepping down. Not often the bookies get it wrong. Financial markets are clearly responding to the surprise in the referendum though it is important to not respond in panic.

18.01.2022 Nice to be recognised today in trade press with RiskAdvsers article on Griffin and our growing business

18.01.2022 Great roadshow by Asteron with the legend John Eales, and no Im not on tip toes...

17.01.2022 Three great days at the AFA National Conference. Brilliant presentations with a key theme of dealing with disruption and peer to peer learning at its best. Looking forward to the Gala Dinner tonight

17.01.2022 The team here has agreed to abseil 33 floors down the outside of a building to help raise money for youth in need. Anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated. http://investaabseilforyouth.gofundraise.com.au/p/GriffinFS

16.01.2022 Glenn Stevens, Governor of the RBA, "Forecasting is hard, especially about the future" pretty much somes it up. Enjoying the Australian Business Economists dinner.

16.01.2022 Really valuable AFA conference so far. Paul Taylors presentation about the science of happiness was a perfect way to start the day.

15.01.2022 The team and I at Griffin are abseiling 33 floors down the outside of 1 Market St in the city to raise funds for the Sir David Martin Foundation. They run an award winning rehab program for youth struggling with addition, homelessness, and mental illness that really makes a difference in their lives. Any support you could provide would be greatly appreciated. You can donate directly via this link:http://investaabseilforyouth.gofundraise.com.au/p/GriffinFS

If you were waiting to see if we did before contributing its not too late. Please see the link below: http://investaabseilforyouth.gofundraise.com.au/p/GriffinFS

02.01.2022 The Fed has raised interest rates overnight after 9 years at effectively zero. This was largely anticipated and priced in by markets and is a good sign of strength in the US economy
