25.01.2022 Hello Graduates I am putting together a collation of images from previous shows you have done to provide an online example of what sort of work students might expect to participate in in the new Drama Major in Humanities. This compilation is for the Griffith Drama Major website. Can you email me if you don't want images of you included from any of the shows you have done. I am assuming you are mostly all OK as these images have been used previously for poster, marketing and other publicity that you were involved with. My email is [email protected]. Thanks guys

19.01.2022 Anyone who has had professional film experience and/or audition process might be interested in completing this survey to assist with some new research in peak performance associated with screen acting. Pleas consider assisting with this research if you have had the noted professional experience. CONTEXT My name is Kylie Loveday and as part of my PhD research at Griffith University, I am conducting an anonymous online 30 minute survey to explore the psychological factors invo...lved in peak screen acting. Actors are invited to complete the survey where they would reflect on their most recent professional screen performance or audition. A summary of the study results is offered to actors who participate. My goal in doing this PhD is to provide evidence based performance practices for education and professional settings to support actors in reaching their performance potential. Any queries contact Kylie Loveday at [email protected] or click here to complete the survey where further details are provided (GU ref no: 2018/550). This is the survey link in case the hyperlink does not work in the above blurb: https://griffithmhiq.co1.qualtrics.com//form/SV_0UO6dJGBsj

Director Jo Loth powerfully integrates her backgrounds in cabaret, physical theatre and Shakespearean performance, and joins forces with Matilda award-winning designer Angel Kosch, to deliver a chilling premonition of humanity’s future. 10.01.2022 FINAL EVER CONTEMPORARY AND APPLIED THEATRE SHOW - 9-13 October - Lumen Room Metro Arts Tickets through griffithpay Devised and Directed by Linda Hassall in association with Theatre Production 3252 EDN Griffith University students.... Rain: a rock and roll poem or a contemporary hymn about the coming of the end of the world as we know it. It was an ordinary day the night the rain stopped. Nothing much happened that day. Same old same old really. Except the rain stopped for the very last time. What will you be doing on this night? Will you be driving back from the Gold Coast? Will you be worrying about your little sister? Will you be trying to save your marriage? Will you be kissing your lover in secret places in secret? Rain exposes glimpses of ordinary lives in an extraordinary circumstance the end of the world as we know it. Told through a form that breaks the rules of traditional dramatic structure, a tale full of contradictions, multiplicity of meanings, Rain is about concerns of our time. Through hints of past narratives and experiences of present circumstances, Rain explores ordinary lives lived in a city of broken streets and empty spaces. Derived and adapted specifically for Griffith students from a variety of published sources including; Let the Water run its course to the Sea that made its Promise (1986) and Emmanuelle Enchanted or a description of the world as if it were a beautiful place (1996) by Forced Entertainment’s Tim Etchells and Motel Chronicles (2015) by Linda Hassall - and in collaboration with students using the phrase ‘on the night the rain stopped’ to devise their own stories, this work is a contemporary lament about things we’ve done, things we could have done and everything we didn’t do. A theatrical allegory for living in a world of escalating climate change and natural disaster events, Rain asks us to think about a night in the not too distant future when the rain might very well just stop.

04.01.2022 Shell Shock is one soldier’s story of coping with the symptoms which can lead to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. After serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, Tommy Atkins’ observations on life on civvy street are poignant, frequently comic and always moving. His over-emotional responses to post office queues, a trip to Ikea, his relationships and family lead to alienation and anger. Drawn from personal experience, Neil Watkin’s writing is affecting, vernacular and direct (Herald), The performance is deeply engaging and haunting. The story, adapted from the original novel Shell Shock: The Diary of Tommy Atkins, written under the pen name Neil Blower highlights the work of forces charities such as Combat Stress and Help For Heroes. https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/shell-shock-at-churchie-lig
