24.01.2022 ARCHIE Archie is a Griffon who had been brought up in a backyard breeding establishment. He lived outside with many other dogs. He became available to purchase a few weeks ago so came to our attention. We were able to buy Archie and he was taken subsequently to a local Veterinary Clinic. He was crawling with fleas and appeared to have dental problems. Initially he was vaccinated, wormed, bathed and flea treated. He was also given lots of cuddles and attention. He was treated ...for an ear infection, a lame back leg and back pain. X-rays later showed some arthritis and evidence of a previous leg fracture. He was missing some bottom teeth and had problems eating chunky food. X-rays showed part of his bottom jaw missing due to a past jaw injury. He spent a few days with the vet to ensure that any pain was controlled and he was also desexed. The Veterinary Practice took care of this little man at no charge for which we are extremely grateful. Archie is now in his new home living with his new Mum and Dad and his Griffon sister. He is an amazingly resilient Griffon who craves affection. He seems to have had a really hard life. He does not know what a dog bed is. He does have some separation anxiety and also shows some anxiety with quick movements and newspapers. We think he is about 5 years of age. He has become attached to his very special new family and we are here to help in any way can. The Veterinary Practice has offered to care for Archie for the rest of his life at cost price of any drugs needed. This is a humbling and wonderful example of the caring veterinary surgeons and nurses we have in our community. This is our first ‘rescue’ and we have been amazed by the offers of help we have received. Thank you to the good people in our community. And a special thank you to the loving family who have opened their hearts to give to give Archie the life he surely deserves. 27/08/2018 Griffon Rescue and Rehoming WA.
23.01.2022 We understand that life events sometimes mean that a family Griffon will need to be found another home. We have a group of people who are happy to offer foster care in a Griffon family until a "forever" home can be found. We are part of an Australia-wide Griffon network that is there for support as well as offering information to Griffon owners. All Griffons that come to us will be seen by a Griffon Veterinary Specialist so that any health needs are addressed. All Griffons that are re-homed will be sterilised if not already, vaccinated and microchipped. A health report will be given to the new family. For assistance with a Griffon or Griffon x, please contact us by sending this page a private message.

09.01.2022 Vinnie Vinnie came to our attention towards the end of July 2018 when his ‘owner’ was asking for help on the Griffons of Perth Facebook page. She could not cope with his separation anxiety or his weeing in the house. Help was offered through the Griffon network and he did stay the night with one Griffon owner. Arrangements had been made for him to go to another Griffon owner who could work with Vinnie and make sure that he was seen and checked by a ‘Griffon vet’, vaccinated, ...wormed and sterilised before finding a forever loving home for him. It was difficult to get any recent facts about his history. A person bought him from what was described as a ‘puppy farm’ in Two Rocks and could not cope with his emotional needs and he ended up with a dog sitter. This dog sitter also could not cope with Vinnie’s emotional needs so reached out for help. He was a Black and Tan boy and thought to be about 2 1/2 years of age. Unknown to us this person had reached out to a pug rescue organisation. She decided at the last minute to drop Vinnie off with their carer as she was closer to her home. After the appropriate vet checks, assessment and sterilisation Vinnie was placed in a loving, new home where he is the only dog and a constant companion to his new Mum. She has had experience with traumatised dogs and he has settled well. Apparently his new Mum is now a Griffon convert!! It was Vinnie that got us thinking in the West. We decided that we should have a profile as a Griffon Rescue Group and are now in the process of setting up ‘Griffon Rescue and Rehoming WA’. Thank you to PUGS SOS for liaising with us and finding a beautiful home for this special boy. We would also like to express our thanks to the Griffon Bruxellois Club of Victoria and the Country Griffon Club of NSW for their support.
07.01.2022 This Sunday there's a Griffon meet up at Riverside Gardens in Bayswater. If you have a Griffon or you're just interested in learning more about the breed, come say hi from 4:30pm. We'll be somewhere around the gazebo at the end of the path past the toilet block. We'll be easy to spot, because we'll have a bunch of very cute Griffons with us!
07.01.2022 Awww, what a lovely thought :)
05.01.2022 Erik the Brave with an important message about dogs in hot cars. Good job City of Cockburn!
03.01.2022 Archie Update Archie was rehomed a few weeks ago as most of you will know. He had a few issues which his new Mum and Dad were a little concerned about but happy to work on. As Archie has become more secure and confident he has learnt how to ‘play and run around like a puppy’. He has really attached himself to his new Dad and he loves cuddles. He has started to put on some weight. He has settled so well in his new family, which includes his Griffon sister.... Everyone involved is so happy with his progress especially his new family. Thank you again for all those who have helped Archie in this journey. We are also pleased to advise that we are in the early stages of applying for Incorporation and will keep you informed of our progress.
02.01.2022 Toys for Griffons ;)
