19.01.2022 Do you love the beach and helping your community? Join the iconic red and yellow and become a volunteer lifesaver on beach patrol! It’s fun, incredibly rewa...rding, you’ll make lifelong friendships, and the skills and experiences you’ll learn can benefit many aspects of your personal and work life. To become a fully qualified surf lifesaver on beach patrol, you must be 15 years old, and be able to complete a 400m pool swim in less than 9 minutes, to be eligible to complete the Bronze Medallion course. The Bronze Medallion is considered the pinnacle of Surf Life Saving patrolling awards. As a Bronze Medallion holder you will have the required skills and knowledge relating to surf awareness, rescue techniques, radio communication, CPR and first aid. The Bronze Medallion is free to members and covers: Safety and well-being Surf awareness and skills The human body Resuscitation, defibrillation and basic oxygen techniques First aid communications Radio operations Rescue techniques Carries and supports Beach management As a Redcliffe Peninsula Surf Life Saving Club lifesaver, you will be part of the patrol team responsible for patrolling the 2.5km coastline from Suttons Beach to Scotts Point. The expected volunteer commitment is only about half a day every 3 weeks, plus some rostered public holidays and school holidays, during patrol season (Sep - May). Our next Bronze Medallion course starts with an Induction Night for course participants at our Suttons Beach clubhouse at 6pm, next Thursday 5th November. 19.01.2022 Congratulations to the everyone who took part in this mornings 100x100s Christmas Set at Ferny Hills Pool! The rain scared away a few people who weren’t interested in getting wet, but it was great to see so many smile in the face of adversity and just keep swimming! We managed to raise $930 for HeartKids! Great job everyone and thank you all for donating to such a fantastic charity Thank you also to Ferny Hills Swimming Club for assisting with the free BBQ! Here are a few pics from this morning!

08.01.2022 NEWSFLASH: NEW COACH ON DECK!!! Hi, my name's Bianca. I am the eldest of the Grimsey clan. Like my brothers, I grew up with swimming; the pool was our second... home! I competed nationally in both pool and open water events, specialising in distance swimming. Since retiring from the sport I have coached junior and adult squads, on and off, over the last 14 years. I love to give stroke correction to improve position, speed and efficiency in the pool and help you unlock your potential. I am extremely passionate about swimming and excited to set goals with YOU and help you achieve them. What I ask from you? Wake up, show up and put 110% effort in. Goals won't be achieved lying in bed! See you at 4am on deck (Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings).
