24.01.2022 It has been a hard couple of months at GrizzMuffley with losses in our extended family. Everything from a massive infection from a cat to old age to cancer. I feel like quitting but it is not in my nature to quit. Hard days but this very hard breed gives so much love. So much about them is unpredictable. They are so stoic that they don't tell you things are bad until they are irreversibly bad. Would I swap breeds? No. Never.

23.01.2022 We are happy to welcome Miss Misty to our home. Misty Moo Kissy Woo needs a forever home. Misty is 7 years young. She lived her life with a little fluffy. Things went haywire when her Human's daughter moved home with a young Amstaff who insisted on jumping at Misty's face and being nibbley. So they dumped the Bullmastiff and kept the Asshat.. sorry..Amstaff. please contact me by pm if you give this sweet girl a home where she can be your everything, and can choose the chips you eat and the movie you watch.

19.01.2022 Lordy. Trying to wrestle Flash and Andy off a big fat wombat in our yard. The tubby wombat seems to be ok and both the kids appear to be ok. The adults however need a stiff rum. In the midst of the chaos it also started pouring rain.

16.01.2022 We get a lot of enquiries from folks wanting a puppy right now. The best advice I can give people is to talk to a lot of breeders whose Bullmastiffs you like, take the time to get to know each other and be prepared to wait. Not all breeders have a lifetime commitment to their pup and to you, nor do they support the breed more widely through activities such as rescue and breed club participation.

10.01.2022 Bullmastiff people always talk about 'type'. Yet type seems undefined for many. Maybe they are talking about their own style of Bullmastiff. John Klok knew true type. The Bullmastiff is meant to be a square on a square. Square head, square body. If you can draw 2 cubes on the dog's outline, you got it. The head is meant to be square and strong. The head must be clean so expression can be seen. This is a working dog that can communicate with expression to the handler not a do...g that can only communicate by barking. Proud to say our kids while not yet all square in body, have that ability to communicate by expression. No wrinkle in repose, moderate wrinkle when interested. What a fascinating breed. Soft and loving to their family, ferocious to intruders. If you missed it, this is Myssez Kyssez. Soft, loving, expressive and protective of our home. Nothing aggressive but a clear message is sent that you shall not pass without the approval of my person. (That's me.) She is not perfect but she's a bloody ripper girl. See more

10.01.2022 Our precious Demi has the blasted abscess in her right top lip back again. The hard thing is that if she had a normal heart we could knock her out, lance it and remove any offending particles. Sadly, knocking her out would kill her and we are more willing to bash the snot out of this thing repeatedly until it eventually comes to the surface and 'pops'. She is such a good soul and keeps her spirits up while we go through this AGAIN. Back to soft foods. Tonight's Delight was steamed vegies, cheese, toast and boiled eggs, all of which she demolished. That might explain why she is our 'Chunky Dee Wombat'. Batshit crazy about you my therapy dog xxx

06.01.2022 Ferdi you goober. For those who don't know, Ferds has been with us since February. He was dumped at a pound and history is unknown. He has severe arthritis is just about every joint, has had a spinal injury, is blind in one eye with tumors in the other eye and it has taken ages to get him not to freeze on contact. We cuddle, we kiss, we love. Ferdi loves to tell stories, especially about his manly sexiness. Love you buddy xx This is his song he sings every morning called "I feel the sun on my chocolate balls (Southpark reference...) and it makes me happy." Ferdi talks A LOT. He must have been vaccinated with a gramophone needle.....

05.01.2022 Our beautiful Demi is on round 7 with this damned abcess. Her heart cannot take being knocked out to remove the offender so we just keep fighting with antibiotics. She has such a great attitude about it. Love you Tubby xx

03.01.2022 So what's going on at Camp GrizzMuffley? Rain beautiful rain. We are up to 117.5mm as of 11am today and this land is appreciative. The dam is overflowing, Wombat Gully is a roaring creek bed (The wombat kids will have headed for high burrows being the clever kids they are.) and the tanks are filling. The Bullmastiff kids are all inside in their beds snoring. Living in dry forest conditions most of the year means we really appreciate rain. Here are some photos from our gully walk this morning.
