19.01.2022 Seriously.. Grease and fats blockages from kitchen sinks are a very common call out for us. Although you cannot completely eliminate oils, fats etc. from being washed down the sink during normal cleaning, pouring cooking oil down the sink is one way to ensure a visit from your friendly neighbourhood plumber sooner rather than later!

18.01.2022 Roof leaks can be a real process of elimination sometimes!

18.01.2022 'Tis the season for water heater failures! In these colder months we tend to get called out to a higher frequency of water heater failures than any other time of the year. Already this year we have seen an unusual amount of water heater faults/failures and the worst is yet to come!... With winter around the corner, now is not the time to be caught out with an aged and inefficient water heater. Call GRK Plumbing today on 3277 9190 to arrange a quote.

18.01.2022 Roof/gutter maintenance on commercial and residential properties is easily overlooked, however if there are large trees in the vicinity of the building it doesn't take long for the leaf litter to build up and block down pipes and overflows. If you have experienced the storms and rainfall intensity that Queensland has to offer then you may understand the potential they have to cause an unbelievable amount of damage in a short period of time. If it's been a while since your gut...ters have been cleaned or you're after a roof/gutter condition report, GRK Plumbing has you covered! Call 3277 9190 to book an appointment today!

14.01.2022 BACKFLOW DEVICES Brisbane City Council requirements for backflow device testing now require all devices to have their annual testing completed by the 31st of December each year. To assist device owners, Council issues an Annual Testing Reminder Notice in January giving them until 31 December to engage a plumber endorsed for backflow testing and have their device(s) tested. A second round of reminder notices is issued mid-year to prompt device owners whose annual testing is u...sually scheduled later in the year. A final reminder notice is issued at the end of September for devices that have no test result recorded by Council. As stated in a previous post, backflow prevention devices are an important part of plumbing systems that help maintain a healthy water supply for everyone to enjoy. Need backflow testing carried out at your property? Call GRK Plumbing on 3277 9190 to arrange a booking!

12.01.2022 A recent bathroom reno, done by the GRK team!

10.01.2022 Water pressure in your home lacking? Here is a photo of a section of rusted galvanized steel water service side by side with a similar diameter Polyethylene pipe. Whilst these pipes often look unaffected from the outside, corrosion occurs internally and may eventually block the flow of water completely. ... If some of your taps have low water pressure, but others don’t, this could be a symptom of partially corroded galvanized pipes or even a partially replaced water service. Galvanized pipes can release iron and cause discoloration in the water supply. A clear indicator of this is a yellow/brown stain on a porcelain sink or toilet. Given enough time, these pipes can rust through completely and potentially cause serious damage! These water services eventually require complete replacement, don't wait until you need a plumber after hours! Call GRK Plumbing on 3277 9190 to arrange a booking!

03.01.2022 GRK Plumbing was called out to investigate water bubbling up through a concrete driveway. With a bit of experience (and an ear to the ground) we were able to pinpoint the leaking water service with precision! Once the pipe was exposed we could then determine the cause of the leak. The insulation around the pipe was removed to allow for brazing, unfortunately, it was not reinstated afterwards allowing the copper pipe to come into direct contact with corrosive materials. After ...repairing the pipe (and protecting it) we were able to leave the site tidy and the driveway functional until the concrete was reinstated. Are you experiencing concealed water leaks or higher than average water bills during this period? If so, don't hesitate to call GRK Plumbing on 3277 9190 to arrange a visit from one of our experienced team members!
