Nikkayia, Letrisha, Vickerina and our own BFM Program Leader Helen will be taking part in the 100m, 200m, javelin and long jump events for their age categories. Deadly Hair Dude NT with be with the Bush Fit Mob team at your school next week to give free haircuts and styles to everyone who shows up for school! There will also be times/locations for adults to come and get a free haircut as well so check out the poster below for more details. ... Don’t forget Monday is a pupil-free day so we’ll see you at school starting Tuesday!

18.01.2022 It was a golden day for our Groote Eylandt team at the Athletics Northern Territory Team Challenge with Helen taking gold in the Over 20 Women’s javelin, long jump and 100m while Vickerina added to her collection today with a gold in the U16 girl’s 100m!

17.01.2022 What a weekend it’s been at the @athsnt Team Challenge! Thanks so much to the organisers for putting on a stellar event and well done to all of the participants. We are coming home with some well-deserved medals but most importantly awesome memories of such a fun weekend!

16.01.2022 It’s the second trip to Darwin this week for our BFM team and this time it’s to celebrate the great attendance of the senior boys! 6 students from Umbakumba and Angurugu schools and two BFM staff will be participating in Obstacle Hell this weekend - a 5km obstacle race that will see them swinging on ropes, crawling through mud and everything in between! First stop is Deadly Hair Dude NT for a fresh cut This not-for-profit barber shop trains Indigenous students in hairdressing so they can take those skills back to their communities The boys loved their cuts and had a great time playing pool and foosball while waiting for their turn!... #deadlyhairdude #schoolincentivetrip #grooteeylandt

Vickerina finished her events with a silver in girls U16 long jump and a gold in the 200, Helen took another gold in the Women’s 20+ 200, and Nikkayia took home the bronze in the girl’s U12 long jump!
