25.01.2022 ....and a lovely wander around the towns main street...the emus no longer at the servo : (

25.01.2022 Had a great time cruising up Yardie Creek...us wadjullas are pretty stupid tho, as Yardie is language for creek so were actually saying creek creek duh!

25.01.2022 One last sunrise walk before we left yesterday.. and I was treated to this beautiful bird slowly flying around me and posing for some photos... awesome.

25.01.2022 Lovely to check out all the historical buildings in Normanton today, and the really wide roads!! Running the show at the Albion Hotel this evening : )

24.01.2022 Was a big Saturday night at the Beadon Bay Hotel, plenty of fun and some great performances.... managed to take a few pictures in between running the show, thanks to everyone who came along, Onslows been a hit.

24.01.2022 Also between Cloncurry and Normanton the only Aboriginal monument Ive seen so far (theres plenty for the white fellas)

23.01.2022 Here's a few from Magnetic Island, short ferry hop from Townsville. I was last here in 1982!! The last 2 are Alligator creek just south of Townsville, aptly named (Aussie style) as not a croc in sight and lovely to swim in!

23.01.2022 Only managed to take pictures from one of the shows in Mackay last week. The staff here were fantastic, theyd dressed up, and sang and danced, it was quite a floor show with much laughter and merriment. If I do spend my last days residing in an aged care facility, Id like it to be in an atmosphere such as at this one.....

22.01.2022 Played a couple of shows in Atherton and Cairns last week before my mixing desk malfunctioned : ( Had to cancel another show booked in Cairns and said mixer is now winging its way to Sydney to be repaired, come back soon!!!

21.01.2022 Big thank you to everyone who came to the show at the pub last night, llooks like you all had a good time, I certainly did... There was a great variety of song choices. The men dominated tthe stage earlier in the evening and Merle Haggard and Charley Pride tunes were popular as was the Dixie Chicks and Elvis. There was a great tribute of Wind beneath my wings dedicated to one of the bar staff : ) Took the girls a while to hit the stage but they did a fine job of Shania Twain once they got there complete with some out there dance moves!! The finale was a packed stage for a Olivia Newton John and John Travolta moment... awesome! Camoowealians sure know how to have a good time. Thanks also to Michelle and Chris for asking me along and being very generous hosts. Cheers : )

21.01.2022 Retrieved from page 27 of the Have a Go News seniors paper. Big thanks to Janice and Joe for the artwork, and to Trace for editing my text..

20.01.2022 These were taken at 'the Reef' in Townsville. I don't usually go to things like this as would rather they were all in the wild. However, it seems to have been done very ethically. They have education programmes regarding reef preservation, amongst other things and a turtle rehab centre for turtles usually injured by suffering 'flotation disorder' after ingesting plastic bags they take for jellyfish (fave food). The turtle in the picture is due for release now. Lots of fun and educational stuff for kids too, including the 'hanging out with Nemo' tank which I was small enough ti be able to squeeze myself into (albeit with Florence's encouragement!). Plus, as I still haven't conquered my fear of snorkelling (yet), it was a treat to see some of these beautiful fish and corals up close .

18.01.2022 Travelled from Cloncurry to Normanton yesterday... it reminded me of many Oz roads I travelled in the 80s, one car wide strip of bitumen in the middle, get right off of the road onto the gravel when a road train approaches (there were a lot of road trains!!). Thered also been a lot of rain the night before, pools of water everywhere...

18.01.2022 Played 3 shows at different aged care facilities the past week or so, and loved all of them. Im meeting some wonderful people and enjoying some very emotional times too. When an elderly person asks to be wheeled up to me after a show, clasps my hands and thanks me for a wonderful time, my heart swells.... And when another lady tells me how she enjoyed me singing Hello Dolly because that was her (now deceased) husbands nickname for her and it bought back some lovely memories, well, you cant bottle it thats for sure... So, thank you all for enriching this experience for me.

18.01.2022 Heres a few from Magnetic Island, short ferry hop from Townsville. I was last here in 1982!! The last 2 are Alligator creek just south of Townsville, aptly named (Aussie style) as not a croc in sight and lovely to swim in!

18.01.2022 Was a big night at the Crossing Inn last night...Big thanks to everyone who came along and sang and danced there were some great performances and a lot of support from the crowd... Thanks Michael for asking me to host the show... and Ronnie: I think Elvis has finally left the building!! Couple of pictures too from my room with a view of the Fitzroy that the Inn provided. Cheers Fitzroy...

16.01.2022 Stunning sunset at Barnhill Station last night..... feeling very blessed to be playing a gig here on Sunday

16.01.2022 Have been a bit behind with posting photos... just too hard to sit at a computer when the outside is calling! Heres some from Balga beach free camp couple of weeks ago...

15.01.2022 Back in range today after a few days without phone coverage, which made a really welcome change! Played a fairly low key gig at the Renner Springs Desert Inn during that time. The numbers were small but the voices were big and we all had ourselves a real good time...

15.01.2022 Had a lovely walk around the Bundaberg botanic gardens....

14.01.2022 Lots of development happening in Onslow.... hope these lovely old buildings and beautiful trees survive

14.01.2022 One more cup of coffee for the road....cheers Onslow and thanks Beadon bay hotel for being such a great first up north gig experience...

14.01.2022 Good times at the Beadon Bay hotel last night.... friendly crowd, and some awesome singers, looking forward to the second show tonight... Onslow you rock!

13.01.2022 More from beautiful Barnhill station.....

12.01.2022 I travelled through Camooweal in the early 80s on my first Australian road trip and really enjoyed my time there. Memories of friendly chatty folk in the one and only pub and a resident emu who used to stick its head through your vehicle window at the servo, which was a bit disconcerting for a townie like me! Now, almost 35 years on Im again having a great time in this awesome little town. Starting with a couple of days I camped along the Georgina river, prolific bird life and beautiful sunsets...

12.01.2022 Spent the last 2 nights at the Banka Banka homestead..... pretty much miles from anywhere... Just loving all the SPACE, feels so timeless........

11.01.2022 Few photos from last Fridays gig at the Kimberley Hotel, Halls Creek.... Ive had a great time travelling through this vast space of the north west. Crossed into the Northern Territory today, with another gig in Katherine this Tuesday... I have a fantastic job!

10.01.2022 Had a wonderful time today at the Rocky Ridge aged care in Katherine. No pictures unfortunately to protect the residents privacy, but have many lovely memories to keep. Many of the residents joined in and the staff were great... Quite an emotional experience for me too as one of the songs I sang was a favourite of my Mum and Dads (and played at Dads funeral). One of the residents there today so reminded me of him....The emotional reward of this job sometimes far outweighs the financial thats for sure...

10.01.2022 Well, with so many of the older generation travelling (and drinking wine!!) it had to happen : ) not a bad drop either...

09.01.2022 Couple of pictures from Alisons birthday, (almost a week old now as it was on 1st July), but have been out of range a lot! Stunning sunsets at Cape range national park

09.01.2022 I've enjoyed some amazing views from my ever changing campsites on this trip... here's a few more from Calliope and Yandaran both just a little north of Bundaberg

08.01.2022 Few photos from the Friday night gig at the Albion Hotel, Normanton, not a huge crowd, but an enthusiastic one .... Big Thanks to everyone who came along and joined in the fun. 10 out of 10 to Frog for an emotional (if not altogether accurate!!) rendition of Queens Somebody to Love and for hosting the show. Go visit Normanton, its a beaut little town..

08.01.2022 There were a lot of people here on Sunday for the dinner and my karaoke, but unfortunately there was a lot of gastro going around too and I came down with it... felt so disappointed! The show didnt go on... fortunately, a long term camper stepped in with his sound system so everyone could still enjoy some music

07.01.2022 Ive enjoyed some amazing views from my ever changing campsites on this trip... heres a few more from Calliope and Yandaran both just a little north of Bundaberg

06.01.2022 Loved taking the show to this aged care and day care facility in Broome today, didnt get too many photos unfortunately but many residents sang as well as a lot of the staff.... thanks so much for the opportunity to sing for you all and to hear you sing too...

05.01.2022 Spent a few special days at the Nitmiluk National Park recently, stunning country and great amenities (info centre, walks, tours camping etc) run by the traditional landowners, the Jawoyn people and the NT government.

05.01.2022 Up close and personal with nature, our finest artist, in the forest around Lake Tinaroo this morning, 50 or so years after the land was cleared for dairy farming its regenerating beautifully....

03.01.2022 Gorgeous evening here at Judburra camp on the Victoria River in Gregory NP amongst the beautiful Boabs : ) no swimming though......

02.01.2022 Interesting foreshore here, took these from the caravan park I stayed in for the first couple nights, although have now upgraded to looking after a locals house for the weekend : ) has been great to spread out a bit after living in a campervan!
