25.01.2022 Two 15-tonne trucks have arrived at North Richmond and begun unloading as stocks in supermarkets continue to be replenished. As roads reopen and become accessib...le, police and emergency services are working to ensure that supermarkets in North Richmond have food products and other essential items. Since Tuesday, NSW Police have delivered items, including hygiene products, fruit and vegetables and other essential items to the local community. Over the next 9 hours, there will be a continued supply to the supermarkets in the area, and residents are asked to shop only for their daily needs. Deliveries and support will be ongoing. Items can be collected from the North Richmond Community Centre 33 William St, North Richmond and the Hawkesbury Depot at 3 Old Sackville Road, Wilberforce. Residents are reminded, the Public Information Inquiry Centre operates on a 24-hour basis and can be contacted on 1800 227 228. If you require emergency assistance during floods or storms, call SES on 132 500. In life-threatening emergencies, contact Triple Zero (000).

24.01.2022 After returning to the station from a incident call around 10:30am we received a phone call requesting assistance to help unload and transport medical supplies and teams along with food supplies to Coles. Helicopter after helicopter came in unloaded and then came back again and again. With assistance from NRMA Insurance helicopter, NSW Rural Fire Service helicopter, NSW Ambulance Toll Ambulance Rescue helicopter and NSW Police Force Pol Air making multiple trips to assist everyone this side of the bridge. Even staff and friends and family from Coles and people from The NRMA towing assisting with unloading and delivering of supplies. Many hands make light work and great to see so many willing to help. Big thanks to Grose Vale Rural Fire Brigade and Kurrajong Rural Fire Brigade for lending some Crew and their PC unit also

16.01.2022 Fire Danger Ratings for Sunday are possibly in the Severe Category Know your Fire Plan.

11.01.2022 Yesterday afternoon around 16:30 were responded to reports of a structure fire. Along with Fire and Rescue NSW Station 082 Richmond and Kurrajong Rural Fire Brigade. Due to quick thinking of the residents and a working smoke alarm the fire was contained to the dryer and a small portion of the laundry. Investigations deemed the fire was out and had not spread to any part of the roof or any other part of the house. We removed the dryer from the laundry and placed it outside away from the house. Once again we would like to congratulate the residents for their quick thinking which limited the damaged caused and meant no injuries to either residents or firefighters.

09.01.2022 Although it is cloudy and damp at the moment, please take a few minutes to discuss your Bushfire Survival Plan with your family. Days are warming up towards the weekend and Fire Danger Ratings could move higher up the scale.

07.01.2022 Over the last 18 months we have been through scorching temps and dry spells to one of if not the worst bush fires in a very long time. We then had some floods and went into the global pandemic. Slowly but surely we start making our way through that to only now encounter some of the biggest flooding in some say 20- 50 years. We are fortunate enough to have some of the most Resilient, kind and caring people within not just our community but whole Hawkesbury region. Times are... tough but together we can get through all this. Check on your friends, family, neighbours and anyone you encounter. It’s ok to ask for help and it cost nothing to listen or to talk to someone. Food supplies running low, garbage and sewerage services at a minimum if not at a halt. We may be isolated but we are isolated together. Stay calm and be safe Hawkesbury we can get through this. Stay up to date with info from https://disaster.hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au/ and via the NSW SES Hawkesbury Unit social media. Last but not least to all our fellow emergency services from NSW Police Force NSW Ambulance Fire and Rescue NSW NSW SES and all the volunteer organisations trying to assist any way they can thank you for everything. #allinthistogether #wewillsurvive #hawkesburypride #floods #wegotthis See more
