24.01.2022 Last nights T.V. show.

23.01.2022 Our first week at Katherine Gorge has been rather productive, despite the 42 degree temperatures. The crew have been busy constructing trails with no shortage of rock. It makes choices for rock pitching simple. Check out the footage below to see how a rock pitched creek crossing grows.

23.01.2022 Back to the N.T. we go. For the last time. Rain, hail or shine - we will finish what we started, over 12 months ago. What an adventure this project has been !! Can't wait to get there. 22.01.2022 Work is progressing on the new pump track for Rockwheelers Townsville. We can confirm that after rigorous testing from the G.C. stunt crew, the new track is damn good fun. We still have more work to do so please respect the worksite and be patient. We promise that the wait will be worth while.

19.01.2022 Mountain biking in Katherine, Northern Territory. We are out in the heart of Northern Territory setting up for a trails project at Katherine Gorge. So why not join in with the locals and enjoy their network of trails on the outskirts of town! They have some pretty fun single track along the banks of the Katherine River and through the Rocky outcrops beside town. ... We will be upgrading the existing trails in Katherine Gorge and also constructing some new trails over the coming months.

17.01.2022 Deano's Dragstrip, trail 1, Atherton mountain bike park is undergoing a little bit of refurbishment. The team have been hard at work rebuilding, tweaking and refining the old trail alignment. It's bigger and better now. It is also still under construction so please respect the work space. We are having some light, intermittent rain which is adding the perfect amount of moisture so that when the trail is open in a couple days, we will need many bikes and riders to roll in the new surface. Whose in?

We are plunging down into the bowels of this amazing terrain. Its harsh, its rugged and its beautiful. ... This trail is going to be quite an adventure to ride.

15.01.2022 We have had a fantastic opportunity throughout the past 12 months to construct mountain bike trails in Nitmiluk National Park, Northern Territory. This work was completed with the help of Jawoyn Contracting, the local, indigenous employment agency who are the traditional owners of Nitmiluk National Park. As subcontractors to Ground Creations, Jawoyn Contracting contributed labour and machinery to the mountain bike trail construction project. This collaboration allowed us the... opportunity to train and upskill locals in the community in the craft of trail building and ongoing trail maintenance. We are proud to be involved in the Jawoyn initiative, to create employment opportunities for young people in the community. The ABC article below describes in detail how initiatives like this have improved the Katherine community and offered locals, opportunities for career pathways and better life choices. 14.01.2022 We have been busy building some awesome trails in THE most beautiful and inspiring environment known to mankind. Some test riding has also been undertaken and there has been smiles all round.

13.01.2022 STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAY It was too wet to work so we went on an adventure to waterfalls and gorges.

10.01.2022 Katherine Gorge, Northern Territory We have completed the first link in a network of new trails at Nitmiluk National Park. Jawoyn Contracting have supplied a great group of guys to work with us and create artwork in dirt (more accurately - artwork in rocks). We are always up for a challenge and that is certainly what we got. With rocks in abundance and dirt as a scarce luxury, we found a way to make the trail into something great. ... With funding from the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, Northern Territory Government, we will be creating plenty more new and exciting trails in this region.

09.01.2022 Big things are happening in Townsville. We are at Douglas mountain bike Reserve. (Our second home). The pump track is undergoing a serious facelift. We have smashed it to pieces and it will be reborn fresh and smooth as a babys bottom. Exciting times for Rockwheelers Townsville

07.01.2022 Katherine Gorge is one of those really special places that planet earth has to share with us. It is also the location of the next mountain bike destination, funded by the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics - Northern Territory Government. We are contracted to upgrade some of the existing walking trails to cater to mountain bikes also. We will also be constructing some new trails to create better links in the trail system. Im lucky that I got to experience ...some of the beauty of Nitmiluk National Park - Katherine Gorge, with some exceptional people. Thank you to Julie and the two NT Park Rangers who escorted me by boat to a remote and inspiring location to plan a new MTB trail. Not many people get to see the places that I see. It wont be long and you too will be able to experience the same, on your mountain bike. 07.01.2022 Trail maintenance at Atherton Forest MTB Park. We have been doing some well needed improvements to "Lickety Split". Here are some BEFORE and AFTER pics of problem areas that have been rectified. We are returning this popular trail back to better than its former glory. This work would not be possible without the grant monies provided by the Mt Emerald Wind Farm community grant scheme.... Lickety Split is open for the weekend but will be closed again on Monday as work resumes.

07.01.2022 Our NT Mountain Bike Master Plan to establish the Territory as the adventure riding capital of Australia is very much in action. And this is just one w...ay were making it happen. Construction on new mountain bike hub shelters and mountain bike trails has begun in Nitmiluk National Park. Were also expanding the Lookout, upgrading the visitors centre and building a new jetty. Its already helping put us on the map for people looking for adventure!

03.01.2022 Trail maintenance at Atherton Forest MTB Park. Lickedy Split and Penny Lane have been undergoing some improvements lately thanks to the generosity of the Mt Emerald Wind Farm and their community grant scheme. We have made improvements to the major creek crossings and rectified any drainage issues that have developed over the past few years.... Work has paused on these trails till after Christmas and they are currently open and good to ride.

01.01.2022 The next trail is well under way at Katherine Gorge. We have discovered some fantastic features along the alignment. This trail is going to be quite an adventure.

01.01.2022 We have some positive news - The Katherine Gorge trails are still under construction. Despite all of the chaos in the world at the moment, we are still out here, doing what we do best. We are feeling lucky to be relatively isolated from the drama that is unfolding here in Australia and around the world but it is only a matter of time before we will have to return home and face the music. It will be a long drive and then 14 days of self isolation. (We have well and truly ea...rned a 14 day break anyhow!) The crew here have been working big days for the past two weeks, in difficult terrain and are doing an absolutely fantastic job. They have also decided to extend their stay and continue building trails rather than return to home as normal, this Saturday. They will all be out here for another 12 days before a 3 day drive home. Once we leave we wont be back until the country is safe to travel again. I am proud of our team and what they have achieved out here. With regular 40 degree daytime temperatures and near impossible terrain they have created some awesome artwork amongst the Katherine Gorge escarpment. The Ground Creations crew wish you all the best of luck during this time of crisis and when this is all over we can get back to trail building so that you can go ride new trails.

01.01.2022 We have been working on a little project for a private school on the Atherton Tablelands. If you are lucky enough to be at school and your school has a cycling program then at some point you may get to ride this trail. It consists of a 1.7km cross country trail with a ripping little down hill section and a separate 670m skills trail. We cant disclose its location yet so we will keep you guessing for a while. ... Better repeat grade 12 again, for an opportunity to learn some valuable life skills!!!
