23.01.2022 Hello beautiful peeps we're now settling into the New Year, over the Christmas and holiday relaxation or chaos depending....hopefully. Goals may have been set earlier, mulling over it or not your thing so to speak. This period can be a time for more reflection. May it be slowing down at work, taking time for yourself, aiming to run 2kms or baking the perfect cinnamon scrolls. To work on life long dreams or plans, putting them wheels in motion. Setting goals whatever you have ...in mind they all enhance your life, bring new experiences or nourish you. However indulge me...consider through all of last year and the continuation into this one we all live in interesting times. One we can't predict and through it all that body you have got you through it. Be kind and gentle to it, you only have one. I'm lucky to have our little (and fastidiously hygienic!) studio, but its easy to use any amount of space to find time for yourself, and your fitness. Not only is it the best kebabs , gozleme, and barbecue chicken in Perth, they also bake all their bread fresh in store. The manager is the sweetest, friendliest guy you can imagine, and gave us a loaf of their Turkish bread on the house So what does the Bear do with a free loaf of Turkis...h bread? Why, he makes Caribbean French toast of course! Limes (from our garden!), full cream milk, eggs, raw sugar, and "just a splash" of pineapple rum! 06.01.2022 Keeping your water intake up is easier said than done! Sometimes even drinking just a litre a day may not happen; in our daily rush from one task to the next, it can be all too easy to forget to look after ourselves and our own health Here's some simple, helpful tips, on this basic element of self-care: Fill a conveniently size water bottle and keep it handy on your desk or in your work area. Some of the 1L kinds are fantastically compact. Size matters!... Take only sips of water (a mouthful at a time) every 10-20mins throughout the day. This increases your hydration, and decreases toilet breaks as your body absorbs the water more efficiently. Add slices of cucumber, strawberry, orange or lemon to gives a hint of natural flavour that's perfect with summer around the corner! As a bonus; the Vitamin C in the orangeand lemon is great for fighting the sniffles, and strawberries are jam-packed (pun intended!) with antioxidants.
