21.01.2022 I’ve been doing a lot of #heartopeners in my practice this week but sometimes the best heart openers are off the mat...... I had the best surprise this week when these fabulous yoga pants arrived all the way from Glasgow. Not only are these an awesome print, they were accompanied by a beautiful note from an amazing friend. Who knows when I’ll see my family and friends in Scotland but for now I’m taking @hmcm85 for a stroll in the local forest in my heart and in my yoga pan...ts! #heartopening #goodfriends #newyogapants #yogaoffthemat
21.01.2022 Inspired by my weekend immersed in nature, it was lovely to share a grounding practice working towards tree pose with these babes this morning. Kudos to @erinmayhenry for understanding my random weeping willow cue. Creative cues can provide a great visual but they can also raise a few eyebrows! Especially as a Scot in Melbourne..... My ‘tippy tappy toes’ got a few giggles this morning too . #yogababes #treepose #inspiredbynature #creativecueing #scotabroad
18.01.2022 Trotting into the Easter break like a fine thoroughbred! No classes next week but we’ll be back @strikestudio.au 7am Tuesday 13th April. Have a very happy Easter break with friends, family, pets or all of the above! Rest, recuperate, recalibrate and I’ll see you on the other side .
03.01.2022 #Dolphinpose - deceptively challenging! Even though my dolphin is still far from perfect I do find it a very satisfying pose to practice as well as teach. Why??? Because the effects of good preparation are so clear. Hamstrings, upper body strength, shoulder flexibility........ What‘s your favourite pose to prep? #groundedhooves #dolphinpose #hamstrings #shoulders #itsallintheprep #yoga
01.01.2022 So when I was holding this pose I felt like I was in a super flexi back bend and then when I saw this photo my initial reaction was disappointment.... this was not a photo of a super flexi backbend .... but THEN ...... I cut myself some slack.... . I remembered that 2 years ago an Osteo told me my spine moved as one solid unit (not in a good way!) so this is serious progress. Also, I have a short torso - so this pose is probably never going to look how I imagine it should.... . This is something that I hope to channel through my yoga classes - acknowledging and celebrating the bodies we have and the progress we make . . #dancerpose #backbends #progress #cutyourselfsomeslack See more
