22.01.2022 Group 21JRL are pleased to announce our committee for 2021; President - Gary Pettman Snr VP - Gary Jones Jnr VP - Peter Barry Secretary - Kevin Lomax... Treasurer - Johnny Marco Rep Committee Chair - Hayley Pennell We thank the outgoing members for their fantastic service to Group 21 and the contributions they have made to the Hunter Valley Rugby League community.

21.01.2022 I have received a few messages and emails expressing disappointment and frustration with the late cancellation of the footy today and some of that being directed towards the clubs. I understand and the group were equally disappointed that our players were unable to play tomorrow as were the clubs and their managers. I want everyone to be aware of the massive effort that your clubs have put in to get to the stage we are at now. These volunteers have put in countless hours t...o be ready to play tomorrow and everyone was ready and willing to go. We as a group and your clubs are equally bound by the rules of NSWRL and they are following the latest advise from NSW Health and the government. Any frustration directed at your club and the volunteers is misdirected and inappropriate these people are the same reason your kids get to play in the first place.

20.01.2022 Below are links to 2 courses that will be held in Tamworth on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July 2020. These will be for League First Aid and also a Level 1 Sports Trainer.... We know this is not ideal for everyone, at present after the restrictions that were in place due to the COVID pandemic, areas where courses had been proposed, have had to change. This is due to the limited number of presenters currently available to the NRL and also the need for courses to be done across Australia. We are hopeful we may be able to provide some further courses as the season progresses, but this may not be possible. Below are the links to the courses. 15.01.2022 Due to no nominations for President at our recent AGM, no committee has been placed. An extraordinary AGM will be held Monday 14th December 2020, 6.30pm at the Muswellbrook RSL. RSVPs must be received by Friday 11th December 2020 to assure your admittance ([email protected]). These roles are vital to the continuation of Group 21 JRLs competition survival. If you’ve ever wanted to make a difference, contribute or help grassroots in Group 21 get noticed, please put your h...and up and ensure the continuation of rugby league in our area. If no committee is placed at this meeting, Group 21 JRL will be handed over to NSWRL.

15.01.2022 As training is now beginning to ramp up, I just thought Id reinforce the NSWRL guidelines; *When spectating or attending ensure you keep a distance of 1.5m b...etween yourself and others. *Dont participate/attend if you are unwell, have been in contact with a known COVID-19 case or travelled internationally in preceding 14 days. *Only essential participants should attend. *Child/participant accompanied by only one adult/guardian where possible. *Arrive/leave as close to the start/finish times as possible. (Get in-Train-Get out) Below you will see the required attendance sheet that will be around the fields at training and on game days. It is a requirement set by government for contact tracing. Please comply and be prepared to assist the club to maintain our controls for sucessful Covid management.

12.01.2022 Great stuff on a hot day lads. Congratulations to our u16 and u18 reps.

10.01.2022 There will be a range of Sports Trainers (including re-accreditation) course held in Tamworth on the weekend of the 12th and 13th December 2020. We realise that... the timing is not ideal, but with a high number of volunteers who will need to re-accredit and also course that were not able to proceed earlier in the year due to COVID, this will hopefully give another option to complete this accreditation moving into 2021. 06.01.2022 Things have changed dramatically over the last few hrs and this is the situation as it stands now. All 12s through to 16s Boys games have been suspended for round 1 of the Hunter Vally Combined Competition. The Girls TACKLE played out of Newcastle has also been suspended for round 1.... (Also the modified 18s comp for round 1 suspended) Girls TAG scheduled for tonight WILL GO AHEAD as planed. The MINI / MOD 6s through to 11s set down for Singleton tomorrow WILL GO AHEAD as scheduled. We have been given direction from NSWRL that we will not be permitted to play players from one age group into another. This is to minimise how many people each player comes into contact with. We understand that this is a big problem for some of our teams and far from ideal. Group 21 executive committee are asking where possible that teams and clubs work together and lend / borrow players from the opposing teams where possible in the non competitive age groups. It may be necessary to play a modified or hybrid game in some of the competitive age groups so we can get as many games played for the kids as possible. This situation is som

05.01.2022 A Reminder to ALL Parents and Spectators Our Group 21 clubs ALL have COVID-19 plans that have been submitted to their local councils and NSWRL for approval. Our clubs volunteers are actively encouraging all players, parents and spectators to follow the guidelines. Some of these control measures are and not limited to; attendance registers at every venue, posters with information, Covid officers asking people to social distance, hand sanitiser available, equipment sanitised a...fter every game and announcements over PA systems constantly throughout the day just to name a few. Our volunteers can only ENCOURAGE our parents and spectators to follow these guidelines. It is up to YOU as the parent or spectator to follow these instructions. Our clubs have all put themselves in financial harms way by participating this year with little revenue and sponsorship being received. If we are shut down due to complaints being made to local councils, we likely will lose these clubs to the financial strain caused. This means, NO FOOTBALL for anyone in Group 21 next year, our referees will not have a job and your children will not have the game they love to play. Police will be frequenting venues to make sure people are adhering to guidelines, once again the clubs are encouraging people to follow these and that is ALL they can do. If they have shown that they have done this, then they have met their requirements to the laws and are not liable for any consequences. So, we ask that you all, PLEASE social distance, follow the guidelines set out by the clubs, NSWRL and the government to keep our game alive and yourselves out of any harms way.

01.01.2022 Hunter Valley Group 21 Junior Rugby League competition will go ahead this year (Under6s-11s & Girls LT). Under 12s-16s including WT that play in MNH & HVCC competitions are still going ahead. Enough clubs have committed to participating this year and a competition can be formed for 2020. The format of this competition is still to be determined, however our first games will be played on Saturday 18th July.... Group 21 JRL are still waiting on feedback from some of our clubs on whether they will participate this year. The strength of the competition relies on the commitment of the volunteers, player and spectators to our game. **Now is the time to get involved with your club!** Any form of help you can offer your clubs committee, will enable them to have the man power they need to comply with the guidelines set out by our governing bodies. The continuation of our game relies on it.
