20.01.2022 11/11 We shall remember them! 11/11. 5 years ago today I opened up GCF for the very first time.... As i reflect back .. Its been a great ride ... with lots of laughs, some tears, some sleepless nights trying to make sure things are as perfect as possible. The support I have had from Maria and my Mum has been enormous. I have been blessed to have such wonderful staff throughout these years. Peter has been there through thick and thin. I have met some wonderful people. I thank everyone of you. You have helped make GCF what it is today. As we move into year six I am hoping for more laughs ... and great times. Farnsy.

The car parking system is in place where we bring your food to you. The shop is cleaned and disinfected regularly including all benches and fridge door handles. ... The door is left open with no straps. You can walk straight in without touching anything. No more than 3 customers in store. Hand sanitizer is in store at numerous locations for customer use. What else could we do? We have been challenged with a non supply of stock this week but I am confident that our suppliers can keep us running (unless Mr Andrews ceases logistics). 11.01.2022 Hi everyone. The government have announced stage 1 restrictions. In these restrictions GCF will remain OPEN. I need and wish to make some changes to extend the safety of all of us. ... 1. There will be no eating inside the shop. 2. Staff will be trained to take payment over the phone. 3. You will be encouraged to wait in your car. 4. You may be asked for your car registration number and car color and your phone number. Where possible your order will be brought to you while you wait in your car and passed through your car window. In the coming weeks I will be considering the viability into home delivery. However this may extend wait times and jeopardize food quality which is why I havent previously considered this. Please... where possible move away from the major supermarkets and support small business. Think of the staff we support by going to a butcher or a chicken shop. Tonight will be known as the biggest challenge that GCF has ever faced with the Covid -19 restrictions and the onslaught of customers that we tried so hard to serve while complying with social distancing to maintain your safety and avoid fines. For the first time in GCF history under my hand we had no choice but to stop taking orders and turn customers away. Doing that has made me feel sick to the stomach.... I know you had a large wait. Your support during these strange and uncertain times have made this possible!... JEP is our Junior Employment Program! This is where we bring in a junior to provide employment experience for a period of 4 - 6 weeks. During this time we teach the "team member" as much as we can in relation to customer service, safe food handling and working as part of our great team! Eligibility Criteria Preferably a child of our customer base Have a desire to learn, be comfortable talking to people. Be at least 14 years of age (min) Have never previously worked for wages Has initiative, is committed and punctual. How to apply? Its simple! The applicant must come into GCF with a smile and A HAND WRITTEN RESUME. Nothing special here folks. Personal details and hobbies is fine. Computer/ printed resumes will not be accepted. All applicants will have the valuable experience of an interview. One applicant will become our next JEP! On completion of the program, the applicant has some experience working within a team and customer service. Will have a professional reference for future applications and a lot more confidence!
