25.01.2022 Prepping for isolation. This is my school learning kit. Maths, problem solving, social studies, history(what we did as kids), and a little English. ... My kids and I will self combust with at home kits. Do it your way.

24.01.2022 I have heard some very tall tales this week. Please remember, even if and LAC or planner has voiced and opinion on something. Something that you have discussed for 5 minutes. Something that’s different. Remember your mission. To find the best supports, at the best price, that works towards your goals, and the the locals down the pub would support. ... If they have put in writing, it’s a no, here’s the relevant legislation, operational guideline etc....... then seek further advice. Even better, check out the self management guide, produced for the NDIS, supported by the NDIS and available on the NDIS site. https://www.ndis.gov.au/media/1004/download

24.01.2022 Another review back today. This client was early intervention, and outside out the MMM 1-3 area. Well prepared they stated their case.... I love that they where able to fight key issues without my further help as they simply felt empowered to do so. I really wish knowledge wasn’t power in this ndis journey. It shouldn’t be a fight. Goals are so bloody important and they must link to the supports you need. The wording can be key. I actually do them last, look at what you can actually manage in life. 5 therapy appointments a week are unmanageable for some, but reality for others. Make sure your therapist state they can deliver the services, travel, and back up that travel as to why it’s productive. When looking at assistive technology low risk, think in $100 bundles, make sure therapists add some random ideas around this. This client was granted core supports for an early intervention participant. Yes it can be done but you must evidence how it’s outside mainstream supports and how it meet goals!!!! Therapy is useless on social skills and safety in the community when it’s impossible to empower the parent to try without reasonable help. Thankful I can help, today was a great day. Plan what you can actually manage. Quote and provide ideas on who and how it can be delivered. Link it to the prices in your budget. Link it all back to goals, you can have as many as you need. Goals must state what you what to try, and outcome, how it will be supported, and the supports required. Challenge your LAC but put it in writing to be submitted to the the planner. Remember they gather the information, they have goals around not submitting crap. Be respectful of your LAC, get them invested in your needs. Do not be a dick. Make sure the submission is organised!!! Easy to reference and to the point. If you have spoken with me..... I can talk the leg off a chair. But the review documentation I produce is very clear and to the point. Proud of this this parent today. So nice to be able to help and share with you.

23.01.2022 Tomorrow I will start isolation with my lovely kiddos as one is high risk. For those already with booked reviews That need to proceed I will complete these. Unfortunately I will not be in a position to take on anymore as I move into full time carer mode. ... I maybe able to assist with some short enquires but most plans will be eligible for automatic renewal for up to 24 months. Stay safe and healthy!!! Thanks Renée

22.01.2022 Wow it’s been a little busy. I will have scope to do maybe 3 reviews before school holidays. Couple of tips.... Make sure any reports include a reference to the MMM area you are in if out of Normal areas. Make sure they include recommendations of hours as a therapist they can supply, report hours and any low risk or higher risk Assitive technology. Ta Ren

18.01.2022 Just a little fun tonight. My lovely superhero boy taking an awesome photo of his grandma.

18.01.2022 This was awesome last year!!! If your kiddo has additional needs buy the Uniteability tickets. We had a ball last year, this is a way better venue for keeping an eye on the kids. ... Give it a go!!! For our family I have asked for a support to assist one kiddo so I can support the other. Last year the organisation was tops and lots of helpers along the way. It’s just healthy fun!!!!!! Thanks Renee

16.01.2022 After speaking to an OT today. Please please mention for each NDIS annual plan report: Low Risk Assistive Technology. Unfortunately the updated examples sheet on the portal is frankly crap. All therapists can recommend in their reports. Apparently is now assessed in $100 increments.... Just print out a schedule, laminate it and use stick on hook and loops, buy a big whiteboard, can you just buy an electric can opener. This all costs money that are disability specific and often not needed in and ordinary life. The goal of the NDIS is to give participants their best chance at ordinary. This all adds up! Ask the question.

15.01.2022 Apps and when they go on sale. Proloquo2Go normally is discounted by 50%

14.01.2022 I speak to so many people feeling they need a review. Often understanding your plan, being confident to look at options, and getting new ideas is all you need. I do not encourage reviews unless absolutely relevant. Often most budgets are usable when you know how. ... The name Grow your plan is more about growing what you have rather than more $$$$$$

14.01.2022 I have decided to end all term one lessons immediately. I feel it’s the most responsible decision to make in the current climate. We hope to be back in Term 4 2...020. Stay safe and healthy!!!!!

13.01.2022 Please read this. I personally agree with every word.

12.01.2022 I have some amazing clients. Thanks again!!!! Beer for mum and ice cream for the kids.

11.01.2022 New price guide available 2 March it’s about number 4 or 5 this year. Big changes to transport funding however we have to wait till March 2 to see the detail.

11.01.2022 Massive review in today. Well done family!!!! Well done ndis planners. Such a complex, cheeky, loving amazing participant. ... How it should be, time to breath and smile.

10.01.2022 My teens only interested in Tech and Gaming. Team Tech Shed!!!!! This ones for you. ... I know one of the mentors and I’m sharing this with permission from Autism Queensland. Second group can be started current one is full. Please contact Autism Queensland to Register. This is a capacity building support so if using NDIS funding this is a therapy.

09.01.2022 Update on available times. So at this stage I only have the following left. I have one swimmer wanting a friend on a Tuesday at 3:20pm. ... This is a 30 minute lesson cost is $45 for a ratio of two to one. This is a younger swimmer and would suit a 4-5 year old with parent or helper in the water to assist. 3:55pm Tuesday is available for 30 minutes would suit someone needing one on one support for 30 minutes at $90 or if we can find a friend two swimmers at $45. I have Wednesday at 3:55pm available for a 30 minute lesson. So this is open for thoughts. So overall only 1.5 hours left Tuesday and Wednesday’s. Please note I must have completed registration forms and all swimmers must need additional supports to mainstream lessons. Please call me to discuss. Lessons begin next week so my toe has time to heal.

07.01.2022 Hey guys!! Just a heads up!! I need a minimum 3 weeks to organise review stuff. I preferably like 6 weeks. I like for people to hold onto pre-review documentation and make sure it presents them. ... Hourly rates are $56 per hour and I have lots of templates to make things speedy. Sometimes I book out for weeks, so a heads up, way in advance is so appreciated. I also run my own kids disability needs, one of which has superhero status. Happy to help with running stakeholders meetings, reviewing reports prior to submission and general self management guidance. Thinking about starting some general get togethers on different entry topics from home. But I would like to keep them short and on topic, it’s way easier to take in info in short bursts and fits better with schedules. Charges will apply but it’s value for money stuff. Plan managed and self managed can claim. Let me know if your keen, and what your interested in learning about. Ta Ren.

07.01.2022 NDIS NEWS: Plan gaps/extensions Sam Translates: 1.Plans should, from today, rollover automatically for a 28 day plan if there's not a new plan in place yet, an...d that should now include SIL and SDA (and service bookings should be automatically extended too). 2. Plans should no longer cut off remaining funding from the old plan, and you should be able to make claims from the old plan for 90 days after the end of the plan (home mods and AT not included) 3. This is good news The official version in many more words: "The NDIA has made further improvements to the NDIS myplace portal. The changes ensure continuation of service for our participants during a plan review period and reduce claiming errors and manual rework for providers. From August 2019, we began automatically extending the end date of participant plans to remove any gap between new and old participant plans. From today, new improvements include: Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports will have service bookings increased automatically where a 28 day extension has been applied to a plan. Unclaimed funds within a participant’s previous plan and service bookings will now be available for 90 days after a new plan has been approved. This gives participants and providers more time to make payment requests for services delivered during the previous plan period. These changes will apply to plans approved after Monday 10 February 2020. The automatic extensions will mean additional funding will be available in your NDIS plan, however home modifications and assistive technology funding will not be extended. Service bookings managed by providers will not end where there is a 28 day extension. Participants and providers will see a message in service booking details in the NDIS myplace portal letting them know that unspent funds will remain available for 90 days after the plan review is completed. If your plan is approaching review and you do not have an appointment booked, please contact the NDIA. If you have any questions about your plan being extended, please call the National Contact Centre on 1800 800 110. https://www.ndis.gov.au//4354-system-improvement-removing- This post is copyright of The Growing Space 2020 - you're more than welcome to share it, with credit and no edits, here on Facebook, but if you want to share it elsewhere, please ask first. 01.01.2022 Hello. The last three appointments where booked and cleared quickly. Actually all where really cool!! All thought they needed to challenge plans, all learnt they didn’t! Totally usable budgets. The name grow my plan is not about more money, it’s about understanding how to grow what you have, challenge is needed. ... So have have some more time spare over the next few weeks.

01.01.2022 There’s a lot of info in this covid19 info release from the NDIS. In a nutshell. Do expect questions regarding your potential exposure prior to a face to face planning meeting.... Do expect to be asked to change to a phone interview. If your plan is expiring and will suit your needs for another 12-24 months, you may qualify to have it rolled to a new plan rather than having full review. Do expect full plan reviews to be extended by a month to allow for reduced capacity as more and more people are required to isolate. https://www.ndis.gov.au//ndis-a/ndis-and-disaster-response
