24.01.2022 You can boost serving in your church with a simple four-step volunteer onboarding process: Recruit First serve Train Empower... https://growahealthychurch.com/volunteer-onboarding-process/

24.01.2022 The atmosphere was colder than an arctic winter. Palpable hostility was written all over some faces. Yes, that’s right.... I was preaching on money. It was the first series I’d ever done on the ‘forbidden’ topic and I was soon intimidated by the ‘cold as death’ atmosphere and dismissive looks from stakeholders in our church. However, I refused to back down and thus began a long journey of learning how to disciple our church in this central element of their lives. https://growahealthychurch.com/preaching-on-money/

21.01.2022 The awkwardness in the room was palpable. The four couples look as stunned as kangaroos in a ute’s headlights. They weren’t sure what this Ministry Development Group was all about. Nor did they know how keen I was to develop emerging leaders.... I had given them screeds of information when I invited to be in this exclusive group. I’d told them that I saw a bright future for their leadership and wanted to spend time with them in their journey of growth. However, no amount of knowledge prepares you for the reality of nervously gathering in the pastor’s home with a chosen group of leaders. Over my years of pastoring, I’ve used various methods to develop emerging leaders. One of my most successful methods has been gathering leaders together and allowing them to develop in the context of a group. https://growahealthychurch.com/develop-emerging-leaders/

18.01.2022 I am stunned when a church applies the best practices in church finances and sees a 400% increase in an area of their income. I will never forget the day when a pastor I was coaching shared with me the exciting news they had increased their mission’s giving by 400%. I had consulted with the church and recommended they make a significant change to their approach to raising funds for missions. They considered my idea and then went about implementing our strategy with diligence ...and hard work. They reaped the rewards of a 400% increase. This is a remarkable result and an outlier. I rarely see quadrupling of income within one year. However, if you follow best practices in church finances you will sleep better, enjoy ministry more and avoid a fiasco in your church cash flow analysis. https://growahealthychurch.com/best-practices-in-church-fi/

16.01.2022 Who would believe that a videotape could change your ministry and life? It was one of those rare transformational moments and helped me become a successful support leader. https://growahealthychurch.com/successful-support-leader/

16.01.2022 PRICE INCREASE I started the Hub 3 1/2 years ago as a one-stop resource centre and online coach for pastors and their teams. I have added fresh content almost every week.... And it's time for the price to better reflect the value I offer through the Hub. From this Friday 18 September, all new members will pay more for their Hub membership. The Hub fee will increase from $15/month to $27/month. Join now at the old price and the first month is on me. Take the Hub for a risk-free test drive. Link in comments #Pastors

15.01.2022 Success on a Sunday morning may be understood by looking at attendance, the ratios of generations in attendance, the offering, or hearing feedback. These are intuitive measures that give us immediate feedback. In an online environment it is not the same.... https://growahealthychurch.com/measuring-success-online-ch/

12.01.2022 Pastors experience deep frustration and confusion when their churches stop growing. Churches are certainly not alone when it comes to decline. Many organizations get stuck and decline into maintenance mode and sadly even into impotence.... https://growahealthychurch.com/churches-stop-growing/

12.01.2022 Last year I was a ‘mystery shopper’ in a church in our city and it felt quite daunting. A feeling which many church visitors feel. Only one person knew me in the crowd of 500+ people and that was the pastor. However, he wasn’t even aware that I was in church until well after the service when we chatted. I was a complete stranger to everyone else.... As I drove home I reflected on my experience. I realised the church didn’t have my contact details so they had zero impact on my decision about a second visit. I was in the driver’s seat. While that’s great for me it’s terrible for any leaders wanting to grow a healthy church. https://growahealthychurch.com/church-visitors-dont-return/

07.01.2022 Is it possible to grow your church during reentry? This is the question on pastors’ lips all over the globe. As we move into the reentry phase of the COVID season we face the challenge of getting our people back to on-site Sunday services while continuing to minister online.... https://growahealthychurch.com/grow-your-church-during-ree/

07.01.2022 A few years ago I had the pleasure of experiencing TD Jakes preaching the house down. TD Jakes is the Bishop of The Potter’s House. He is recognised as one of the stand out leaders of the church in America. His mega church in Dallas attracts thousands and his ministry impacts people around the globe.... It was an amazing experience to sit under this most remarkable preacher. https://growahealthychurch.com/td-jakes-preaching/

06.01.2022 I want to quit ministry. As we sat in a beautiful seaside cafe I told my wife, Dianne, I was tired, discouraged and over it. My resignation letter was written.... And printed. It was skillfully crafted and I was ready to show it to Di and tell her my well-founded reasons for wanting to quit the ministry. Then I showed her the letter. She read it and then put in her pocket. I never saw it again. Dianne told me that she wasn’t going anywhere and that there had to be another way. Thankfully we found another way and I didn’t quit. https://growahealthychurch.com/quit-ministry/
