25.01.2022 Springing into Spring with these beauties. I love this time of year as everything slowly wakes up & emerges. You can feel the warmth increasing & days getting a little longer. A bit dangerous at times for me, as I regularly find excuses to stay in the garden until the sun start to disappear. We are looking forward to seeing all the plants start to really move & getting more nutritious produce into your homes. ... Bring on the beach mornings & evenings too!! #springtime #produce #growth #marketgardening #smallscale #mclarenvale #tatachilla #lettuce #gratitude

23.01.2022 Over the past year we have had so many offers to help out in the patch and we have finally got organised to make this a reality. If you would like to join us to learn more about growing produce, connecting with your food, to meet other awesome people or just to give back. We will be opening up the garden on Saturday 27th Feb 10am-12pm. If you are interested in attending click this link to register: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/grow-harvest-volunteer-day- Everyone that would like to attend must register due to covid requirements.

23.01.2022 A bit of a belated post. On Monday I was super fortunate to be joined by Jemma & Beep in the garden. Always so much more fun with friends. The baby beans got a new trellis & lots of beds were cleared & prepared. Waiting for the 37 degree day to pass so we could get lots of plant babies in the ground (today’s job). Summer is definitely on its way. #gardenfriends #bedprep #gardentrellis #marketgardening #freshproduce #beans Lauren Ebsary

18.01.2022 Some incredible garden inspiration. We wandered around our Nana’s native garden this evening in the mallee. All of these were grown in sand. What a treat & a gift. As we celebrate & say goodbye to this magnificent woman I reflected on the way she has inspired us to understand the importance of growing plants & connecting with the land. And give thanks! #nativeplants #gardeninspiration #youcangrowanywhere #flowers #seeyouagainsoon #thankyou

16.01.2022 These cherry’s have been a hit so far this summer. With customers mentioning they taste like lollies. I’m not sure many are making it to the kitchen table There’s more today at the stall. #cherrytomatoes #summervegetables #yum #marketgardening #smallscale

13.01.2022 Some Tuesday wisdom... a great reminder that the lense we see the world with has such a profound impact on our experiences even in the garden & local food space... and the joy we all deserve to experience.

12.01.2022 A few of the colourful veggies from our harvest yesterday. All of these have headed out in our bags to customers locally & in Adelaide. The purple sprouting broccoli is divine at the moment. And the broad beans are sooo close to being ready too. We are loving spring & watching the different crops maturing. Now, to get the summer seedlings in ... #vegetables #colour #purplesproutingbroccoli #marketgardening #smallscale #mclarenvale

10.01.2022 A wonderful sunny day at Adelaide Showground Farmers Market selling seedlings & fresh produce for Bickleigh Vale Farm #farmersmarkets #organicvegetables #freshproduce #official #beepsplayingshopstoo

10.01.2022 A few gems from this weeks harvest. Our brassicas got hit by diamondback moths this week, but the garden always reminds me there is still lots to be thankful for. Like these giant Kolhrabi or the sweet delicious broad beans. One plant finishes & another flourishes. #marketgarden #pests #grateful #growing #flourish #vegetables #organicgardening

08.01.2022 Some of the colourful produce heading down to the road side stall today. I love the colours of summer. #summervegetables #colours #marketgardening #smallscale #farmgate

07.01.2022 Happy Dad’s Day to all the Dads, Grandpas & Uncles out there. You all play such an important role in our worlds! To our Dad’s thank you for your endless support, love, encouragement, inspiration & technical know how. We would be lost without you

07.01.2022 How’s this magic rocket I found in amongst the lettuce when harvesting this week. Astro variety from @lambleynursery that I bought when I first started the garden. It only came in little packets so I let it set seed to see if would re-grow. It is beautiful & tasty too. #rocket #selfsown #marketgardening #smallscale #celebrate

07.01.2022 Now that’s a broccoli! Brassicas have been growing fast! This week we saw the diamondback moth appear. They really like broccoli too. Thankfully we have caught them early. #broccoli #marketgardening #smallscale #mclarenvale #insects

05.01.2022 Hilling up the potatoes today to encourage more tubers to grow. Hopefully lots of potatoey goodness coming in summer. I did get chased away by an angry bee after row one, so this was it for the day. As I moved on to planting beetroots. Much safer & further away from the hives. #potatoes #hillingpotatoes #marketgardening #smallscale #bees #mclarenvale

04.01.2022 These two arrived this week. I’ve been willing the rain to come all day so I could have an excuse to sit down with a cuppa & keep reading. Nicole Masters Integrity Soils Ltd you had me at Ikigai, I can’t put you down. Thanks for creating a book full of great stories & for making it understandable. Brilliant! The Lean Farm, you are next! Thanks for the recommendation Nat Village Greens of Willunga Creek Ikigai - the Japanese word loosely translated as; ‘finding the purpo...se of your life’, what is it that gets you springing out of bed in the morning. #fortheloveofsoil #theleanfarm #learning #reading #soillife #marketgardening #smallscalefarming #purpose #dowhatyoulove #whatdoestheworldneed

03.01.2022 Tough day in the office today. As we swap garden time for computer time & work on our long awaited website & member newsletter. Stay tuned... #marketgardening #websitedesign #communitymatters #computertime #hallie

01.01.2022 The boss joined me in the patch yesterday, giving the plants a much needed boost of seaweed & planting up some of the summer veg. Tomatoes, zucchini’s, cucumbers & lettuce made it into the patch & under some row covers for a little bit of extra warmth. #cantwaitfortomatoes #marketgardening #smallscale #tomatoes #cucumber #summerveggies @beepa_kaye
