25.01.2022 Super busy week this week. We made some more great dishes and celebrated another birthday. We started a new project, producing holograms right in our art area and finished glazing our pouring projects. This week's menu- Monday- Pan Pizzas and Chocolate chickpea brownies, Wednesday-Chicken burghul salad and pumpkin pie and Friday- Tacos 2-ways and Mandarin lemon meringue layer cake (might need to go for a bit of a jog after that one) See you there!... https://www.taste.com.au//meringue-lemon-meringue/gya599zz

25.01.2022 Understandably we are a bit late with this weeks post. But what a fabulous excuse we have....party preparations! This weeks menu Monday- GCEC vs McDonald's burgers (we totally won) and 2 kinds of smoothie, mango and banana and blueberry muffin. Both to die for. Wednesday will also get to try this awesome burger treat and chocolate birthday cake and Fridaygroup couldn't decide between healthy lamb shepherds pie or buddha bowls so we will do both! Followed by a strawberry fluf...f cheesecake pudding oh yeah. We were so honoured this week to receive 2 nominations for the Volunteer South West Volunteer of the Year Awards. Congratulations to Pam Vercoe for all the hours and hours of valuable work she has done to help make GCEC such a success. She has gone above and beyond in her efforts this year and also thanks to Ceira Furlong for her nomination as Youth Volunteer of Year. Although she has been with us for such a short time her passion and sparkly personality have endeared us all.

24.01.2022 What a wonderful way to spend lunchtimes this week, sitting by our beautiful sensory edible garden eating, chatting, singing, laughing and celebrating. We can't stop raving about Monday's carrot, pineapple and zucchini cake or the amazing Buddha bowls we made on Wednesday and the incredible assortment of dips we threw together on Friday but using the artichokes we from our luscious garden really made the stand our dish of the week. Don't worry we have some awesomeness planned... for next week too. Monday well make some comforting pumpkin soup and our own brad rolls the on Wednesday the star of the day will be a healthier potato bake recipe with some GCEC style koftas and our famous chocolate cake then Friday we get decadent with Crispy lemon salmon with pea hummus and an apple crumble. Well also be continuing with making our Crowns. They are looking awesome. Can't wait to see you there!

23.01.2022 GCEC do Buddah bowls

23.01.2022 GCEC are so grateful to have two purpose-built stainless steel tables in our new outdoor kitchen. We cannot thank Elite Fabrication Bunbury enough for this fabulous and beyond generous gift. We began using them as soon as they were unveiled and have not stopped since. They are so incredibly well made and sturdy we know they will be appreciated for years to come. Thank you so much to the wonderful team at Elite Fabrication Bunbury. Another huge thank you to Spudshed this week ...as not only have they donated ALL the delicious fresh produce as they do EVERY week, this week they supplied a huge amount of potting mix to top up our sensory, edible garden. We are looking forward to adding some winter crops now. And lastly, but definitely not least, thank you again to the Shire of Harvey for our outdoor kitchen. As you can see from the pics, we made some pretty delicious food this week and have more yummy outdoor cooking recipes planned for next week. Monday group will make Japanese ramen noodle soup with Ryan's sisters melting moments, Wednesday we will make our famous Turkey Chow Mein and banana, raspberry choc chip loaf and Friday we will also make Chow Mein with an apple slice.

22.01.2022 Next week we begin the first of our end of term picnics. So, on Friday we will meet at the Sykes Foreshore Reserve https://goo.gl/maps/87hvQBtp1KvHjxmb6 for some schnitzel and salad making...oh and eating of course. On Monday we will whip up some sausage rolls with a twist along with a yoghurt and strawberry tart and on Wednesday we will attempt a Tofu, coconut and veggie laksa (low on heat, high on flavour) and chocolate brownies...the healthy kind of course. The carbonara we made on Monday was a huge success and swapping half the pasta for zoodles really worked in this dish. On Wednesday our happy accident turned our brownies into fashionable salted ones and cocktails on Friday were the best. The perfect treat to celebrate a birthday. Feel free to bring a folding chair to the picnics and we'll see you there!
