22.01.2022 Colour recognition is an important step in cognitive development for children. Together the Toddler children identified the colours of the blocks (red, orange, purple, yellow and blue) before participating in discussions about the colours. The children were asked to look around the room and find an object to match the coloured block, for example; Can you find something red? After looking around the room together we found a red car! The glow of the light table added a whole new element. Toys look different with light beneath them and the colours are more vivid. (NQS 1.1.1)

22.01.2022 Nursery rhymes play an important role in early childhood development and education. Nursery rhymes and children’s songs boost vocabulary and language development, help children to develop literacy skills, provide a fun way to support early numeracy skills, and help children to develop social, physical and emotional skills. What is World Nursery Rhyme Week? Launched in 2013, World Nursery Rhyme Week promotes the importance of nursery rhymes in early childhood developmen...t and education. Over 3 million children from 70 + countries have taken part since 2013. The initiative is open to parents, Early Years practitioners and anybody who works with children under the age of 7. Our focus nursery rhyme today was, Row Your Boat was celebrated this by exploring a sensory tub filled with water, pouring containers and of course, boats! The children used the containers to scoop and transfer the water and pushed the boats around as we spoke about how they floated on the surface. As the children splashed about, we sang the Nursery rhyme which caught their attention, many of the children beginning to dance and sing along to the words. L.O ~ 4.1

21.01.2022 The Kindergarten children actively participated in a science experiment exploring chemical reactions. Bicarbonate soda was placed into cups and the children added vinegar and food colouring. The children curiously watched as the vinegar made the bicarbonate soda bubble and fizz, causing a chemical reaction. During this experience the children worked on their colour identification.

17.01.2022 Happy Monday everybody. This week let’s celebrate the wonderful person that is you!

17.01.2022 During morning play the red tub was filled with a small amount of water and bubbles with watering cans, boats and buckets. As the children began to explore the water they placed both hands into the water bucket and soon began to splash the water around wetting themselves and others. Pouring, scooping and splashing about in the tub. This simple activity helps the children develop fine motor skills, as well as using math concepts such as less and more, full and empty. These tasks help the children coordinate their hand movements with what they are seeing and feeling. (L.O 4.1)

15.01.2022 NATIONAL CHILD PROTECTION WEEK 6-12 SEPTEMBER 2020 At Grow Early Education we believe that every child should feel safe, loved and included. To raise awareness we joined the Daniel Morcombe Foundation Australia’s Biggest Safety Lesson where the children were given the opportunity to watch an age appropriate lesson on children’s safety. Putting children first means prioritising the safety and wellbeing of children. To grow up well, children need to feel safe and loved, have ...a chance to play and explore, have a say in decisions that affect them, and access to essential things like food, shelter and healthcare. For children to thrive we need to come together as a community and put children’s needs first during National Child Protection Week and every week of every year. EYLF 1.1, 2.1 & 3.1 See more
