17.01.2022 Its up to each and everyone of us to be thoughtful of one another. Do the right thing by following and implementing instructions from health and all authorities. United we stand must be our motto. Lookout for each other. Do not be selfish with your buying of groceries and other household products. If you have done it, now is the time to share it around. Take special care of the elders, sick and weak. We always used our telephones for just chats. Use it now to check on ...others in the same frequency or even more. Remember this virus could strike anyone anywhere. Whether you are rich, poor, homeless, educated, qualified, politician, President, priest or just an average person. It will strike you. Dont give it a chance. If we stand together, share our love, care and empathy and above all have faith and do the right thing. We will come out winners and defeat this virus. Good luck everyone, take care and stay safe. See more

02.01.2022 I grew up in Colombo, Srilanka. When I was a child we did not have a phone at home. If we needed a call, we would go to the Post office to take a phone call. Eating out at a restaurant was a special treat. Greenlands, Greencabin, Pilawoos, Pagoda, Zellers and Alerics come to mind. A good lunch was rice and curry ( Eating ice cream was a treat on a hot day. You took your school clothes off as soon as you got home and put on your play clothes. We had to do our homework before... being allowed outside to play. We ate dinner at the table. We went to school everyday. Most of us started with Black and White TVs. Those who did not have them, watched thru a neighbours window. Our TVs didnt have a remote. To change the channel we had to get up and change to one of just a few stations. We played Cricket in our garden, Hopscotch, 1,2,3, Red Light Green Light, Hide & Seek, Truth or Dare, Tag, Kick Ball, Dodge Ball, made mud pies, rode bikes. Staying in the house was a punishment and the only thing we knew about being "bored"--- "You better find something to do before I find it for you!" We ate what mom made for dinner. There was no bottled water; we drank from the tap. Left over Necto or Cream soda after the visitors left, were a treat. On saturday mornings, we listened to music while cleaning the house from top to bottom. We rode our bikes for hours. We weren't AFRAID OF ANYTHING. If someone had a fight, that's what it was and we were friends again a week later, if not SOONER. We played till dark, sunset was our curfew. School was mandatory and teachers were people who you could TRUST and respect. We watched our MOUTHS around our elders because ALL of our Aunts, Uncles, Grandpas and Grandmas AND our Parents best friends were also our PARENTS (they COULD & WOULD WHOOP Y'ALL!,) and you didn't want them telling your PARENTS if you misbehaved. These were the good old days. Kids today will never know how it feels to be a real kid. I loved my childhood...!!! Kids these days will never understand how we grew up!!! Good Times! Copy & paste if this was your childhood. See more

01.01.2022 Wishing you all a Very Happy New Year

01.01.2022 They did not have mobile phones, the internet or computers!!! Can anyone remember our lunch going astray???

01.01.2022 Hope our dear friends and family are safe. Stay strong. Blessings always
