21.01.2022 Amy’s Surrogacy Story My husband and I began our surrogacy journey after we became engaged in 2012. I unfortunately could not carry a child, so my sister offered to be our surrogate. At this time, she was living in the USA. After a round of IVF, we were able to create 10 embryos, my sister flew to Australia for the embryo transfer. We were successful on the second embryo transfer; at which time my sister flew back to the USA. She did not return to Australia until she was 34 w...eeks. Our daughter Roxy was born on 6 June 2014 at RPA hospital in Sydney. During the pregnancy both families (surrogate and intended parents) formed an amazing bond and despite being separated for most of the gestation period, we knew our daughter was being taken care of. After our daughter was born, my sister was very attached to her and it was very sad to say goodbye to her when she flew back to the USA.
