25.01.2022 Ken retired from the market yesterday, after selling fruit and veg here for 45years. He is a second generation trader after taking over his father's business once his father retired. He's married with two sons and a daughter and three grandchildren. Ken's father was working in the market with his uncle before the second world war. He then went to the war and returned safely to Melbourne after the war and started his own fruit and veg stall. Then Ken started working with him. He remembers when management used to ring a bell to start the days trade, then again to finish the days trade. We wish you well in your retirement.

24.01.2022 This beautiful old girl turned 140years old last Tuesday. Happy birthday Queen Victoria market. https://www.instagram.com/p/BghwkQNAfgD/

22.01.2022 Happy new year everyone

19.01.2022 This weekend Shirley finished up at the market. Shirley and her husband have been selling fruit and veg in the market for the last twenty-six years since moving to Melbourne from Malaysia. For the last nine years, since the sad passing of her husband, Shirley has been running the stall by herself with the help of her three children. I'm sure a lot of customers and traders will miss her infectious smile and we wish her well in her retirement.

04.01.2022 Vic bought himself a lovely warm coat @catchercoats from Sally, as Melbourne's weather is unpredictable. Sally has such a large range and they are all made in Australia. Queenie bought some beautiful raspberry sauce and plum sauce from Kay #saucedfinepreserves. All made locally and they even have beautiful plum puddings and Christmas cakes.
