23.01.2022 Charlie has captured Van Gogh's ' Wheatfields with crows' by adding thickening medium to his vibrant colours. Charlie learnt to mix colours on the canvas in a spontaneous gesture like style just like Van Gogh. This is what created the 'feeling' in his work . This painting was said to be one of the last paintings Van Gogh painted as he sadly took his own life a few days later !! Awesome job Charlie yr 6!!!

18.01.2022 This week our little artists will be focussing on the artist MARC CHAGALL. Expressing his love of animals, his home village , people and memories in a surreal and cubist style . Students are saturating their canvas with organic shapes of brilliant colours and are now adding their own favorite memory, place, animal and people placing these images across the canvas like a playful dream . It's always very exciting to see each little artists sense of self come through in their own individual painting . Chagall would be proud

13.01.2022 Had such an amazing couple of days with such a creative bunch of little artists at the holiday art workshop. Working with a mixture of found object, broken tiles and glass / ceramic mosaics they organically placed them around a terra-cotta pot . They then were challenged with using wire to create a sculpture ....... like drawing with wire !! Some created words, figures, flowers, balloons all having their own unique ideas . Their major paintings were an extension of themselves and what they loved . Referring to artists work for inspiration and their own imagination ! We all had fun .....had heaps of ice blocks and survived the heat !! Thank you for all just being your creative selves ... YOU XXX

12.01.2022 PABLO PICASSO is the influential artist as we kick off the term with some large clay faces ! Looking forward to seeing all the vibrant colours used to bring out the beautiful textures !

10.01.2022 Jess & Zoe have both done amazing paintings. Working on canvas board using acrylic paint. Zoe was inspired by her love of wolves and Jess' imagination runs wild as she is influenced from her love of books and the mystery of the forest . Both paintings are surrounded by beautiful mosaics . Each individual tile placed with so much thought ..... its a pleasure to have such talented girls in the art studio

08.01.2022 At the beginning of term children focused on the function and expression of art throughout different cultures. We discussed tribal and primitive art and how their everyday life was almost an art . Making everything from nature for survival . Creative expression was a way to express beliefs , costume and ceremony. Students worked organically with clay and combined stone, wood, shells , feathers and paint to create their own influential piece of nature. They were all so individually unique !!!!

08.01.2022 We had an amazIing ART WORKSHOP channeling PRO HART!!! The students were influenced by the diversity of his artistic subject and style ! All capturing the amazing Australian landscape ! I am always blown away at the end of the day when their paintings are finished !! THANK YOU

02.01.2022 The Henry Matisse workshop was A colorful day expressing bold colours and wild brush strokes. Students embraced feeling what they see and painting with emotion . Oceans are hot pink and mountains are purple . Thank you to all the wonderful artists .

02.01.2022 What an exciting term we have had !! Students primary age started the term with inspiring clay animals and some natured inspired clay works . We worked our hand skills with some Lino printing and of course lots of drawing !! Finishing the term students painted like MARC CHAGALL , embracing their individual style and interpretation .
