25.01.2022 Here in Northern NSW we get the best local blueberries. So this recipe combining extra virgin olive oil and blueberries is right up our alley. Enjoy! Blueberry Breakfast Muffins Ingredients 125 g plain flour 125 g wholewheat flour... 3 tsp baking powder 200 g blueberries 2 eggs 120 mL extra virgin olive oil 100 mL milk 1 tsp vanilla extract Method 1. Preheat the oven to 190C and generously oil a muffin tin. 2. Mix the dry ingredients and the blueberries in a bowl, crushing just a few of the blueberries with a fork. 3. Mix together all the wet ingredients, then pour over the dry ingredients. Mix, then spoon into the prepared muffin tin. 4. Bake for 25 minutes until lightly browned and cooked through to the centre. 20.01.2022 We often think of Tapenade just as a dip to serve with bread or crackers however, similar to a pesto, Tapenade has many uses. It can be stired through pasta, used as a spread for sandwiches, a base for pizza or to add extra flavour to roasted veggies. #olivelover

16.01.2022 We are SHOCKED to read this article! It claims olives are the topping Australians are most likely to request to have removed from their pizza. Seriously!? I’ll be having olives on my Friday night pizza, who’s with me! https://10daily.com.au//olives-dont-belong-on-pizza-they-b

15.01.2022 Five great ways to use our lemon myrtle infused olive oil 1. Drizzle over grilled fish just before serving. 2. Add to a homemade dressing to liven up a garden salad. 3. Generously rub over lamb prior to roasting. It adds a delicious freshness to roast lamb. 4. Use as a dipping oil for crusty bread and a nutty dukkah ... 5. Use when baking bread at home for a zesty twist. I’m sure you can think of even more! Enjoy. #EVOO #ShopLocal #BuyAustralian #LemonMyrtle #OliveOil #cookingIdeas #flavourbomb See more

15.01.2022 Extra Virgin Olive oil (EVOO) is the highest grade of olive oil, naturally extracted from the fruit of the olive tree. This process is done via mechanical pressing without heat or chemicals. As a result, it retains maximal levels of naturally occurring antioxidants from the olive fruit to fight against oxidation and improve heat stability. EVOO is a safe, stable and desirable oil to cook with and is an excellent multi-purpose oil for high temperature cooking including baking, frying and sautéing. Rich in flavour, it’s also great for salad dressings, dipping, drizzling and marinades. Source: https://olivewellnessinstitute.org

14.01.2022 Want to choose a high quality olive oil then choose a locally grown oil, which is fresher, and has not been in storage for long periods of time. The way you will get all the health benefits plus the delicious flavour.

14.01.2022 Hope everyone's weekend looks a little like this! De-lish!

13.01.2022 Tip: If using olives in stews or sauces, add the olives towards the end of cooking as they will lose some of their flavour and may become bitter if cooked too long. (Chicken Cacciatore for dinner tonight anyone?)

13.01.2022 We’re at Mullumbimby Farmers Market TODAY and Byron Farmers Market tomorrow with all your NYE party olive needs @mullumfarmersmkt @byronfarmers

13.01.2022 Congratulations! Mullumbimby Farmers Market has been named as a national finalist in the Delicious Produce Awards 2020 'Outstanding Farmers Market' category. One of only three farmers markets Australia-wide to make the finals. We love attending Mullum with our olives and oils each week and feel the love from our local regular customers as well as visitors from all over and fellow producers and stallholders. Fingers crossed for the win. #KnowYourProducer delicious. Australia

11.01.2022 See you at the New Brighton Farmers Market in the morning where you never quite know who will pop in for a chat. Thrilled to have Quay Restaurant - Peter Gilmore visit us two weeks ago and purchase our Wood Smoked Olives photo credit to David Holiday

11.01.2022 To create Grumpy Grandma’s semi dried olives, our Kalamata olives are pitted, brined, washed and then dried for 20 hours at around 65 degrees. The olives then rest for a further 24 hours before being seasoned with quality Australian ingredients. This results in a soft, melt in your mouth, flavoursome, moreish olive. Our Tuscan Treat olives will have you dreaming of the vista’s of Italy. Herbs like oregano, rosemary and thyme add to the full flavour of this semi dried Kalamata... olive. Add them to a cheese platter or these semi dried olives work especially well sprinkled through a chunky Mediterranean salad. All our semi dried olives can be eaten as a snack on their own - watch out they can be quite addictive! See more here https://www.grumpygrandmas.com.au/new-pro/semi-dried-olives

10.01.2022 An interesting read about Australia's growing olive oil industry. Everywhere you go in the world olive oil is for sale at vastly different prices with different flavours and aromas. So I think there is space in the market for lots of small producers. We like to think our olive oil has the fresh sunny taste of Northern NSW.
